In order to make sure that everyone has advanced noticed I would like to ask that you please reserve SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2017, for our annual Open Martial Arts Championship. ALL DIVISIONS WILL BE USING THE DAEDO SCORING SYSTEM and black belt divisions 12-32 are running the Daedo Scoring system with DOUBLE ELIMINATION competition. We will be using the electronic Dadeo gear for all ranks and age groups. Electronic socks will be available at the venue to rent - $10. We have a new event this year: Male & Female Black Belt High School Tag Teams. Each team will consist of three high school (ages 13-18) black belts from the same school see attached flyer. The tournament will be a PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY EVENT. There will be no registration at the door. The doors will open at 8:00 AM; our coaches and referee meeting will be at 8:30 am and competition will start at 9:00 AM SHARP! Please advise all your students who wish to compete at the tournament to make sure if they wish to register by mail (Please do not mail cash or personal checks. Cashier s check or money order made out to Olympia). Registrations received by mail must be received by October 28, 2017. We strongly encourage you to utilize our online registration system. Online registration by credit card is open until November 1st @ 11:00pm EST. No at-the-door registration! This will allow us the opportunity to run a well-organized event. The tournament will be held at the GARDEN CITY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL. Since the gym has an arena style format it should help us control the flow of the rings and spectators better. The sparring competition will be judged using modified WTF sparring rules in ALL DIVISIONS. Sparring will begin immediately after poomsae Equipment: All sparring divisions will be using the Daedo Scoring System and sensor socks are required. There will be some on site to rent but only a limited supply. We recommend you go to www.tkdscore.com to purchase your socks ahead of time if you don t already have them. There will only be a limited supply available for rent at the venue. Head gear, mouth guard, shin & instep protection, forearm protection, athletic cup for males (worn on the inside of dobok). Hand gloves optional. Poomsae: This is an open martial arts tournament all poomsae forms are acceptable. We will be having double eliminations (show of hands) for all ages and divisions. Coaching Fees: Each school will receive (2) complimentary coach passes that will be recorded at the door. Registration for Coaches Each school will receive (2) complimentary coach passes. We encourage you to register online so we can have these passes waiting for you upon your arrival. If you are a school owner and plan to coach please register online. As your passes are retrieved at the door we will log the names of each coach. Please note that all additional passes (3 or more) must be paid for. Please plan ahead for this. Each coach will also be given (1) Hold Pass to use in the event that they are busy coaching another player in another ring. Please think ahead and bring adequate coaching staff to support your team. The pass will be given to the head referee when used, after which you will not be able to hold up a ring due to lack of availability. Again, please bring enough staff to support your team as this is crucial for time management of the event. Coaches must register and display a Coach s Pass in order to accompany an athlete to, or coach an athlete in, a ring. Staff will be on the floor to enforce this policy to ensure a safer environment for all competitors & participants.
