The Chiefs stay home again this weekend to wrapup the home portion of their schedule with a game vs. Oakland. Kansas City enters the game with a 6-8 record and looks to fi nish the 2011 season with a 4-4 mark at home with a win. Oakland suffered a 28-27 loss last week vs. Detroit (12/18). The Raiders stand 7-7 on the season and in a tie for second in the AFC West. All four teams in the AFC West remain in contention for the AFC West title and a spot in the playoffs. In its win vs. Green Bay (12/18), Kansas City compiled a season-high 438 yards of total offense, the second time the club has tallied more than 400 yards of offense this season. QB Kyle Orton, making his start with the Chiefs, threw for 299 yards while recording a 104.1 passer rating. He completed passes to 10 different receivers as eight of those pass catchers had at least one reception of 10+ yards. The Chiefs defense held the Packers scoreless in the fi rst half of the contest, the fi rst time Green Bay had been shut out in the fi rst half since trailing 3-0 vs. Chicago (1/2/11). Kansas City was the fi rst team to hold the Packers without a fi rst-half point on the road since at Detroit (12/12/10). LB Tamba Hali tied a career high with 3.0 sacks (-13.0 yards) of Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers. It marked the second-consecutive week that Hali has produced a sack and strip. He now has three multi-sack games for the season and 12 such contests for his career. The Chiefs defense has tallied 18.0 sacks (-115.0 yards) over the last fi ve weeks dating back to Nov. 20. That total ties for second in the NFL. Only Philadelphia (20.0) has more sacks over that stretch. In its last fi ve contests, Kansas City has held its opponents to a 27.9 third-down conversion percentage, ranking fi fth in the NFL since Nov. 20. K Ryan Succop has made a career-best 21 consecutive fi eld goals. That streak is tied for the second-longest mark in team history and is the longest active streak in the NFL. He converted all four attempts vs. Green Bay. Kansas City ends the 2011 regular season with a trip to Denver (1/1/12) as Oakland fi nishes the campaign with a contest vs. San Diego (1/1/12). 2011 CHIEFS TEAM STATS AND RANKINGS THE SERIES Kansas City owns a 55-48-2 advantage over Oakland in regular and postseason play. The only team the Chiefs have beaten as frequently is Denver (55 wins). The Chiefs are 53-47-1 against Oakland in the regular season and 2-1 in the playoffs. Oakland swept the season series a year ago. Oakland has won four consecutive games at Arrowhead Stadium, its longest winning streak in Kansas City. The Chiefs won the fi rst meeting 28-0 between the two teams this season, as Kansas City intercepted a season-high six passes. S Kendrick Lewis and CB Brandon Flowers both returned an INT for a touchdown. KANSAS CITY VS. OAKLAND RAIDERS december 24, 2011

The Kansas City Chiefs secondary stole the show as the defensive backfield accounted for six interceptions off Oakland QBs Kyle Boller and Carson Palmer en route to a 28-0 blanking of the Raiders. Kansas City s six interceptions tied for the secondmost in team history. It marked the seventh time in Chiefs annals that KC recorded six interceptions off opposing quarterbacks in a single game. CB Brandon Flowers (58 yards) and S Kendrick Lewis (59 yards) each returned interceptions for a touchdown. The Chiefs offense couldn t get going on its first drive, but the Chiefs defense set the tone early as Lewis intercepted a Boller pass and returned it 59 yards to the end zone to put the Chiefs up 7-0 less than three minutes into the game. Two drives later, CB Brandon Flowers notched the Chiefs second interception off Boller as he picked off a pass at the Chiefs 40-yard line. QB Matt Cassel converted two third-down plays through the air and eventually found WR Dwayne Bowe for 15 yards, getting inside the one-yard line. On the next play, FB Le Ron McClain broke the plane of the goalline, putting the Chiefs up 14-0 with 1:53 left to play in the first quarter. Following the Chiefs score, Boller marched Oakland into Chiefs territory. On the next play, Bush got loose up the middle, scampering for 35 yards to the Kansas City five-yard line. Oakland got to the one-yard line after two rushes. On third and one, the Chiefs defense stopped Bush for no gain. LBs Derrick Johnson and Jovan Belcher stuffed Bush short of the goal line on fourth and goal to give the Chiefs possession. After the teams traded punts, the Chiefs forced another three and out but an illegal hands to the face penalty on Oakland s punt gave the Raiders an automatic first down at their own 10-yard line. As Oakland moved the ball down the field, Boller's pass for Heyward-Bey was intercepted by CB Brandon Carr at the KC 10-yard line. Kansas City took over on the 12-yard line with 0:55 left in the first half. Cassel s hail mary pass was intercepted by S Chinedum Ndukwe at the two-yard line to end the first half. The Kansas City defense held Oakland to a three and out on its first drive of the half. Two 15-yard penalties on the Oakland defense helped the Chiefs move the ball down the field. CB Javier Arenas lined up at quarterback in the Wildcat formation and scored from seven yards out, making the score 21-0 with 10:25 left to play in the third quarter. On the Chiefs next drive, Cassel s pass for RB Dexter McCluster was intercepted by CB DeMarcus Van Dyke and returned to the Oakland 22-yard line. On third and nine, Palmer found Heyward-Bey for 21 yards, but two plays later, Flowers grabbed his second interception of the day, this time off Palmer, and returned it 58 yards to the end zone to mark the Chiefs second interception return TD of the day, putting the Chiefs up 28-0 with 14:20 left in the game. S Jon McGraw joined the interception club at the Chiefs nine-yard line as he grabbed a Palmer pass that had been tipped, the Chiefs fifth interception of the day. After a Chiefs punt, CB Travis Daniels intercepted a Palmer pass at the KC 18-yard line for the Chiefs. After Oakland went three and out and punted, Kansas City was able to run the clock out on the shutout victory. THE LAST GAME Chiefs 19, Packers 14 December 18, 2011 Arrowhead Stadium 74,093 GREEN BAY..............0 0 7 7 14 KANSAS CITY.............6 0 3 10 19 Thanks to a gutsy defensive performance against the NFL s best scoring offense and timely offensive conversions, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the previously unbeaten and defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers, 19-14, at Arrowhead. QB Kyle Orton completed 23 of 31 passes for 299 yards and six ball carriers combined for 139 rushing yards to lead the offense. The Chiefs took an early 3-0 lead on a 19-yard field goal by K Ryan Succop to cap a 14-play, 69-yard gameopening drive in 6:04. On the ensuing drive, LB Tamba Hali sacked Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers and caused a fumble, marking his 10th sack of the season. Hali finished the day with 3.0 sacks, giving him 53.5 for his career, which moves him into fourth place in team history. Later in the drive, Packers K Mason Crosby missed a 54-yard field goal attempt wide right to keep the score at 3-0 in the Chiefs favor. Succop added a 32-yard field goal with 0:11 left in the first quarter to increase the lead to 6-0. The scoring drive covered nine plays and 42 yards in 3:58. The Chiefs later drove down to the Green Bay threeyard line, but were stopped when RB Jackie Battle was held up on fourth down with 3:28 left in the first half. Both defenses held throughout the second quarter as the score remained 6-0 at halftime. On the first drive of the second half, LB Derrick Johnson stuffed FB John Kuhn on third and one to force a punt. Green Bay took a 7-6 lead on a two-yard touchdown pass from Rodgers to WR Donald Driver with 8:04 left in the third quarter. The scoring drive lasted six plays and covered 54 yards in 2:21. On the following drive, Succop connected on his third field goal of the game from 46 yards to regain the lead at 9-7, capping a seven-play, 61-yard drive in 4:19. The big play on the scoring march was a 39-yard pass from Orton to TE Leonard Pope. As the team s headed to the fourth quarter, the lead remained 9-7, marking the first time in 2011 that the Packers trailed going into the final quarter. Just 11 seconds into the fourth, the Chiefs defense held on fourth down. After the Chiefs took over on downs, Orton connected with WR Steve Breaston on a 16-yard pass and FB Le Ron McClain rushed for nine yards before Orton found Pope on a 33-yard pass down to the Green Bay three-yard line. Succop s fourth field goal of the game came from 20 yards out and increased the lead to 12-7. For Succop, it was his 21st-consecutive made field goal, tying for the second-longest streak in franchise history. On the following possession, the Chiefs defense again held, led by DL Allen Bailey s first career sack and a crucial run stuff for no gain by DE Wallace Gilberry. Following the punt, Orton led the Chiefs on the game-clinching eight-play, 66-yard touchdown drive in 3:27, culminating with a one-yard scoring plunge by Battle. Breaston began the drive with a 25-yard run and Orton hooked up with WR Dwayne Bowe on a 13-yard pass and found TE Anthony Becht for 16 yards down to the five-yard line. Rodgers promptly led Green Bay down the field on a nine-play, 80-yard scoring march in 2:49, finishing it off with his own eight-yard touchdown scramble. After the Packers onside kick went out of bounds, RBs Thomas Jones and Battle rushed for first downs to run out the clock, marking the first time that Green Bay has lost in nearly a calendar year.
