3 Course Summary The course covers indications and contraindications to hyperbaric oxygen treatment, hyperbaric treatment protocols, the economics of hyperbaric practice, management of emergencies, and instruction in the use of the monoplace chamber as well as ancillary equipment associated with hyperbaric oxygen treatment. The course provides the credentials recommended for Physician Hyperbaric Supervision and CHT certification by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology. Objectives The terminal training objectives of this course are to provide participants enough information to initiate and provide safer hyperbaric oxygen treatment in their own institutions using a monoplace chamber. Additionally, participants will have enough information at hand, including information concerning multiplace operation, to prepare for the certification examination of the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology. See GOALS, below, for specifics on how this course bridges Hyperbaric Medicine Professional Practice Gaps.
