There is a visitor garage across the street from the facility where individuals can park for a fee. Please see the attached information and map on parking. Please do not park on the open lot across the street. They will issue tickets. (See attached map) BUSES: Buses should drop swimmers off and then park at the ERP (see attached map) Bus parking is noted on the map. It is approximately a mile away. Lutheran South is providing a shuttle for bus drivers/coaches. More information on who to text for a pickup will be posted later. The shuttle will also be available for drop off at the end of the meet. The Energy Research Park (ERP), located at 5000 Gulf Freeway, is a 70-acre complex which provides research and classroom space, as well as a variety of offices for the University of Houston main campus. Entries: Each swimmer is allowed to enter a maximum of four (4) events; no more than two (2) may be individual events. Each team may enter a maximum of four (4) swimmers per event and one (1) relay team per event. Entries in via Hy-Tek Team Manager must be emailed to:meet.entries@aol.com (Mike Duswalt) Please:1) rename the Hy-Tek Zip File (or Commlink File) to clearly identify the entering team; 2) the subject of your email should be: School District (North, Central or East) Division (I, II, II); 3) Please attach to this email a copy of the Meet Entry Report. Hy-Tek entry file will be posted on the TAPPS website. Times must be included with all entries. Any event entered with a NT, No Time, will be scratched from the meet. Entries are due by noon on January 18 th no exceptions Psych sheets: will be available online on the TAPPS.biz website by January 19 th (early). Scratches only are due on January 19 th by 6pm. Please email these to Mike Duswalt at: meet.entries@aol.com National Time Verification: This meet will be Approved for Observation by USA Swimming for NTV purposes. Only times achieved by swimmers who are currently registered with USA Swimming, have an accurate and complete USA Swimming ID number in the Meet Manager Database, and conform to the Technical Rules will be loaded into the SWIMS Database. USA Swimming numbers must be included on the entry file. The coach can enter these in Team Manager on the Athlete s Information page. They will not be hand entered by event staff. General Rules: All swimmers must sign a waiver to enter the UH pool. This waiver is on the TAPPS website. Coaches should bring these when they check in the morning of the meet. No swimmer may participate without a signed waiver. Swimmers should enter pool area through dressing rooms. Spectators and non-participating athletes are not permitted on deck at any time, under any circumstances. Only bottled water is permitted on the pool deck. All other food and drink must be consumed off-deck. Food and drink are allowed on the observation deck where the spectators are sitting. There will not be a concession stand available. There is a Smoothie King in the Rec Center and various fast-food places near the Rec Center. No folding and/or camping chairs are allowed on deck. NO photography allowed on deck during warm-ups and the duration of the swimming competition.
Meet Format: Timed final swimming competition Swimmers will be seeded by time and gender without regard to Division Meet Manger will score by Division All events will be swim slowest to fastest No exhibition swimmers are allowed in any individual or relay events. Qualifying Times: Entry fees: RELAYS: None required However, coaches are strongly encouraged to enter slower, inexperienced swimmers only in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events. $23.00 per athlete Checks payable to: TAPPS. Checks will be collected when your team checks in on the morning of the meet. Eight (8) individuals may be designated It will not count as an event unless that individual actually competes on the relay team Only the four (4) swimmers declared on front of the relay card are permitted to report to the blocks and compete If the swimmers are to be correctly noted in the Final Results, the order of swimming must also be specified Relay cards for the 200-yard Medley Relay must be turned in to the Official Scorer not later than the beginning of the coaches meeting Relay cards for the 200-yard Free Relay must be turned in to the Official Scorer not later than the start of the men s 500-yard freestyle Relay cards for the 400-yard Free Relay must be turned in to the Official Scorer not later than the start of the men s 100-yard backstroke. Once relay cards have been turned in to the Official Scorer, no changes will be permitted and post-meet corrections will not be allowed State Qualification: The top 3 fastest times for each event from each Region will advance to the State Meet. The next fastest 7 times from all three regions will also advance to State. No swimmer will advance to state with a time slower than the Upper Limit Qualifying Times listed on the TAPPS website.
