DAY ONE Arrive in Yellowknife Travel to Trout Rock Lodge Your experience will begin at the Yellowknife Airport (flight access from Edmonton) where you will be greeted by lodge staff for your journey to the remote wilderness of Great Slave Lake. You will travel by van and Hagglund (an enclosed tracked tank-like vehicle ideal for the snowy north), or snowmobile. During the winter there is no running water, nor showers at the lodge. Washroom facilities include a Pacto Toilet. This is rustic, remote and winterized! Accommodations are at the Trout Rock Lodge. You can also enjoy snowshoeing along the windswept shoreline or touring the area in one of the Hagglunds.
