January, 2015 Dear Athletes and Parents: Welcome to the Northwest Flyers Track Club. It takes a special dedication to be a track athlete. It is hard work and requires considerable concentration and effort. It also offers a greater reward than can be found in any other organized athletic activity. In 2014 the team had another record-breaking season, which concluded with a strong showing in the US Junior Olympics National Championships in Humble, TX. In 2015 we will again have a fun but challenging schedule facing the team. We plan to put forth extra effort to make this year even better. Please review the attached checklist and follow the instructions carefully to complete the registration process. This year s registration fee will be $250 for both new and returning members. This will cover the usual costs of USATF cards, club dues, uniform, T-shirt, fundraising buyout and championship entry fees. It s very important that we get all of the paperwork and fees submitted prior to the first practice session so that the athletes will be insured. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to participate. Official team practice is currently scheduled to begin on February 16, 2015 please report without further notice. Please mail your completed registration forms and payment to the following address: Northwest Flyers Track Club c/o Linette Roach 7010 Centre Grove Dr. Houston, TX 77069 The Northwest Flyers Track Club is an all-volunteer program. We expect every parent to participate in fundraising, take an active role staffing our host track meet on May 22-23, 2015 and help out at team practices and meets throughout the season. Parents do not need to be track experts to help out. There are numerous ways you can get involved; we will let you know how. Once again, welcome to the club. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or any of the coaches listed on the attached phone list. Sincerely, Pal Roach Director www.northwestflyers.org

As an all-volunteer program our most precious resource is the time of our coaches, staff, and parent volunteers. When athlete participation in the program is irregular and unpredictable team resources are used up without providing any benefit to anyone. Our volunteer resources are often stretched as we support team growth, a natural result of the tremendous success we ve had over the last few years. To use our resources effectively and fairly, all athletes that join the NW Flyers Track Club are expected to make the reasonable commitment of practicing regularly, competing regularly, supporting our home track meet, and participating in the championships. Membership under any other basis requires a written request for exception by the parents and the approval of the Director. _ Athlete Signature Parent/Guardian Signature
