4 FIRST AID MEASURES 2 of 5 Inhalation: Skin Contact: Eye Contact: Ingestion: If overexposure occurs, remove victim to fresh air. If breathing stops, administer artificial respiration. Seek immediate medical attention. Remove contaminated clothing as soon at possible. Wash exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation persists, consult a physician. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Extremely contaminated leather shoes should be discarded. Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If necessary, gently hold open eyelids during the flush. Immediately seek medical attention. If large amount of material is swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Should vomiting occur, be sure to keep victim's head below hips to avoid aspiration of vomitus into the lungs. Immediatey consult a physician. Do not attempt to give liquid to an unconscious person. 5 FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES 9:*1;(!#02'-(((((((((((((( O1+&>3<H&QH&& 9:*1;(!#02'(4,';#$-((((((( G364RS&MC2@564&'9:43>&'8=&M3@E:>&& <%"202=(.*',-((((((((((((( F:&>C@C&CTC59CU93H&& >%'#0=20'0#2(?,+@,"*'%",-( F:&>C@C&CTC59CU93&& ABA-(((((((((((((((((((((( +H0&& 8BA-(((((((((((((((((((((( 1H+&& 9:*++*60:0'C(7:*110D0&*'0( ':7U84@5U93&V5W85>&& (( E';,"-(((((((((((((((((((( N=3;5C9&Q523&Q5<E@56<&G2:;3>8234B&F:63H&XT:5>&U23C@E56<&47:R3H&FQGX&'9C44&YI'&?523& 3Z@56<854E32&[>2S&;E375;C9\&;C2U:6&>5:Z5>3&:2&?:C7]H&^C@32&4=2CS&7CS&U3&563??3;@5T3&:6&?523& U8@&;C6&=2:@3;@&?523&?5<E@324&C6>&;::9&;9:43>&;:6@C56324H&XT:5>&4=2CS56<&>523;@9S&56@:& ;:6@C56324&@:&=23T36@&U:59:T32H&)Z=9:45:6&EC_C2>&`E36&3Z=:43>&@:&E3C@&C6>&?9C73H&aC=:2&54& E3CT532&@EC6&C52&C6>&;C6&@2CT39&C&;:645>32CU93&>54@C6;3&@:&C&4:82;3&:?&5<65@5:6&C6>&?9C4EUC;RH&& Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose such containers to heat, flame, sparks, static electricty, or other sources of ignition; containers may explode and cause inury or death. 6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Small Spills: Eliminate all ignition sources. Contain with earthen dike or petroleum material. Remove with grunded suction pump to a salvage container. Remove all absorbent and contaminated materials. Large Spills: For large spills, dike far ahead of liquid for later disposal. Do not release into sewers or waterways. Cleanup: Remove all absorbent and contaminated materials. Regulatory Requirements: Follow applicable OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910.120). Eliminate all ignition sources (flares, flames including pilot lights, electricial sparks). Persons not wearing protective equipment should be excluded from area of spill until cleanup has been completed.
7 HANDLING AND STORAGE 3 of 5 Handling Precautions: Storage Requirements: For professional use only. Avoid eye/skin contact. Wash after using and before eating or smoking. Avoid breathing vapors. Use as directed. Avoid uncontrolled mixing with oxidizers. Respiratory protection is required when ventilation is inadequate. NIOSH/OSHA approved respirators should be provided and worn. Store in a cool/dry location. Do not allow material to freeze, as product may be damaged. Store away from sparks and open flames. Containers of this material may be hazardous when emptied. Since containers retain product residues (vapor, liquid, and/or solid), all hazard precautions given in the data sheet must be observed. All five gallon pails and larger metal containers, including totes and tank trucks, should be grounded and/or bonded when material is transferred. Hydrocarbon solvents are basically non-conductors of electricity and can become electrostatically charged during mixing, filtering or pumping at high flow rates. If this charge reaches a sufficiently high level, sparks can form that may ignite the vapors or mists from process equipment operating at elevated temperature and pressure, or sudden ingess of air into vacuum equipment, may result in ignition without the presence of obvious ignition sources. 8 EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION Engineering Controls: Protective Equipment: VENTILATION: Provide general or local exhaust systems to maintain airborne concentrations below OSHA PEL's. Local exhaust ventilation is preferred because it prevents contaminant dispersion into the work area by controlling it at its source. RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Seek professional advice prior to respirator selection and use. Follow OSHA respirator regulations (29 CFR 1910.134) and, if necessary, wear OSHA/NIOSH approved respirator. Select respirator based on its suitability to provide adequate worker protection for given working conditions, level of airborne contamination, and presence of sufficient oxygen. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT: Separate contaminated work clothes from street clothes. Launder before reuse. Remove this material from your wor shoes and clean personal protective equipment. OTHER PRECAUTIONS: Never eat, drink or smoke in work areas. 9 PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance: Physical State: Odor: ph: Vapor Pressure: Vapor Density: White Liquid Petroleum Hydrocarbon No data available 2 mm/hg (Air=1) >4 Boiling Point: Freezing/Melting Pt.: Solubility: Spec Grav./Density: 212 deg.
