Product Overview Ascent-formwork is a new guided climbing formwork system from RMD Australia. RMD developed Ascent-F with our customers to provide cutting edge equipment, which speeds cycle times and reduces labour costs. Ascent-F can also be operated hydraulically, which saves on crane costs and means you can operate in high wind or when the crane is being used elsewhere significantly improving cycle times. Faster Easier Ascent-F is a new guided climbing formwork system developed to speed cycle times and reduce labour costs Suitable for a diverse range of projects. Constructs piers and straight or curved walls sloping by up to 20 degrees Ascent-F can be lifted in high winds. If there's no crane or is it's being used somewhere else on the project, the Ascent hydraulic system can be used avoiding lost project time At the end of the job, Ascent platforms can be removed by raising, lowering or moving directly away from the building thereby reducing required crane height Wall brackets can be quickly pre-mounted on the cast-in wall anchor before adding the connecting bolt. This is a fast job for a single worker Ascent is suitable for all formwork systems, and can do inclined, stepped, circular or straight surfaces. Safety features were completely integrated into the system Safer Ascent-F masts are safely extended as the equipment rises, giving significant time, labour and site space advantages Safety and peace of mind for workers, because the highly visible Ascent Latch connects securely with the Ascent Wall Brackets. ELEV (Electronic Latch Engagement Verification) system further enhances operator confidence Ascent components have been developed with manual handling and safety in mind. Pre-assembly of equipment can be carried out without cranes at ground level 1

Applications Guided climbing formwork system for core and wall applications in multi-storey situations. Also highly suitable for LNG/CSG tanks. In fact it's suitable for a range of concrete slabs up to 450mm thick. Comes in 3 basic option variants. Option 1 The lowest cost option, which is used when the wall brackets and anchors can be retrieved from the following construction levels. This option requires two wall brackets and anchors per lift Option 2 Option 3 The option used when wall brackets and anchors need to be recovered from the wall with the progress of work and concrete finishing and/or hydraulic wall climbing are required. Features & Benefits Ascent-Formwork is a new guided climbing formwork system developed with our customers, to speed cycle times and reduce labour costs. Ascent is fully adaptable to fit all formwork systems, and is suitable for inclined, stepped, circular or straight surfaces. All necessary safety features are completely integrated. In Detail Mast & Latch Ascent Mast - Strength Ascent Mast - Function through design Manufactured from ultra-high yield, steel plate giving excellent strength to weight ratio making both manual and crane handling far easier. Innovative design features include, mast mounts on first wall lift, no need to remove from the wall to extend length and an integral mast hook for mast extension. Ascent Latch - Visual indication Ascent Latch - Design ingenuity Manufactured from robust cast steel and brightly coloured for easy visual checking of engagement. The latch can be placed anywhere along a mast on a 150mm module, even at mast joints. The Ascent latch includes a number of ingenious design features. It's spring loaded to ensure positive return action, a protected position between the mast webs which ensures snag-free operation, stowable in the retracted position so equipment can be lowered for removal if required. In addition, electronic verification of engagement is available, which is the red light pictured. 4

In Detail Bracket & Hydraulics Wall Bracket - Attach and guide Wall Bracket Optimised for usage The Ascent Wall Bracket is used to attach the masts to the wall and provide guidance during lifting. Smoothly chamfered leading and trailing edges guide the mast through the wall brackets during lifting or lowering. Optimised to reduce weight and make manual handling easier. Other features include - removable mast guides which allow equipment to be craned directly away from the wall and an integrated handle, for easy carrying. Wall Bracket - Cost reducing Hydraulic system Maintain cycle times The bracket is lightweight at only 13.2kg. A projecting boss on the rear of the bracket locates into the recess on the embedded anchor, enabling a labour saving single-man fix or removal of the bracket from the wall. Enables movement of the platforms without the need for a crane, useful during conditions when the crane is either winded off or is servicing other trades, allowing work to continue and maintaining fast cycle times. Hydraulic system Simple connection Hydraulic system Utilise onsite power The system attaches to the bracket using a simple pin connection and is fully interchangeable between platform modules Movement is controlled by a single unit, powered by a 415v, 3 phase power, with equal raise speeds for safe, smooth movement. 5

In Detail Rack and Trolley - Shaft Latch & Pocket Rack and Trolley Simple and easy Rack and Trolley - A range of movements The Ascent Rack and Trolley assembly pins into the mast and attaches the formwork and main platform to the masts to enable Form adjustment. The smooth rack and pinion operation makes form movement easy along the 0.75m form roll-back. Further adjustments come courtesy of diagonal turnbuckles which allow form tilt and the form jack which enables level and sideways transit. Rack and Trolley - Safe Shaft Latch and Pocket - Simple connections A wedge action safety brake prevents accidental form movement - certified lifting shackles for safe raising of the platform. To ensure the assembly works smoothly, protected lubrication points are fitted and system covers are available to protect the running gear. Used with Superslim Soldiers to make a platform inside the shaft or core. The assembly, which is adjustable for length in 60mm increments, connects simply to each end of a Superslim Soldier and is adjustable in level from the platform. Shaft Latch and Pocket - Integrated features Details such as a robust latch which ensures positive engagement with every lift and a nylon wheel for snagfree lifting without marking the concrete face. 6

In Detail Access and Wall Anchor Options Access - Versatile Access - Easier and safer A level working platform with no trip hazards, mesh edge protection with toe board. Stop-end guardrails ensure safety during platform movement and an alloy ladder system with dedicated hatch locations provide safe access between levels. A comprehensive range of access and safety equipment completes the system and enables free movement of workers to and between all work areas throughout the forming and lifting cycle. Components Ascent Platform Beam Assembley Ascent-Formwork Masts Ascent-Formwork Masts easily mount on the first wall lift. There's no need to remove the mast from the wall to extend the length, just add a new section at the bottom of the wall. The 2.1m mast section only weighs 67kg, which enables assembly to be done without a crane, reducing costs. Electronic verification of engagement is available. Ascent Zed Frame attaches RMD s Superslim Soldier Screen extension to the mast and also supports the slab edge access platform. The Ascent Wall Bracket is used to attach the masts to the wall and provide guidance during lifting and has been optimised to reduce weight and ease manual handling. It has an integrated handle, to make carrying easy. The bracket is lightweight, only 13.2kg. The Ascent Platform Beam Assembly attaches the formwork and main platform to the Ascent masts and enables form adjustment. Its rack and pinion operation enables 750mm form roll back.
