About the Walt Disney World Golf Courses Disney s Magnolia Golf Course Designed by Joe Lee, the Magnolia is a classic Florida Golf Course. Complete with a Mickey Mouse bunker, this course has provided a backdrop for the PGA s elite for over 30 years. We invite you to take the unique opportunity to make the walk of champions for yourself, and enjoy the scenic views featuring more than 1,500 magnificent Magnolia trees. Here at Walt Disney World Golf, presentation is of utmost importance and you will see this reflected in all our operations. Walt Disney World Golf will then charge $5 per person for alcohol or $3 per person for non-alcohol to the tournament organization. For any alcohol served at holes, there will be an additional fee of $100 per station and must be served by a Walt Disney World Golf employee. The tournament organization must provide daily liability insurance for all food and alcohol brought in and distributed by the tournament or outside vendors. Michael Schlager, PGA Director of Instruction Michael served as a Senior Instructor and the Director of Short Game School at the Academy of Golf at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. During his tenure, he not only had the opportunity to work with thousands of golfers, he was also exposed to a teaching philosophy unlike any other in the golfing world. Furthermore, he was encouraged to continue the search for more efficient ways to educate and train golfers. His passion for the game led him to Broomfield, CO, where he experienced results with his students thought to be unattainable. Michael recently returned to the east coast to take the position of Director of Instruction at Walt Disney World Golf, and now leads a team of qualified PGA golf instructors. Michael's primary goal is to raise his students' level of enjoyment through game improvement. Transportation Options Mears Transportation Group, in conjunction with Arnold Palmer Golf Management, is pleased to offer the following transportation options for local Resort / Golf Course outings and tournaments. Option I Charter vehicles will transfer the group from the Resort to the Course and are available to shuttle throughout the day. Charter vehicles are a necessity for those who run late, those who must depart the course early and when staggered tee times are scheduled, resulting in varying return times. A 7-hour charter is recommended in order to accommodate range balls, the golf game itself and transfer time to/from the resort. Option II The Golf Package consists of a one-way vehicle from the Resort to the Course at a designated time, and a three-hour charter for the return. It allows the entire group to be transferred at once for a shotgun start, or closely scheduled tee times. At a predetermined, 3-hour time frame, the vehicle will operate returns to the Resort from the Course, shuttling as necessary. The one-way vehicle stages 15 minutes prior to the scheduled hotel depart time and must depart at the designated time. The golf package rate charter cannot be broken up into two separate portions. The 3-hour charter time frame must include the final return transfer time back to the hotel. Option III Round Trip vehicles each to make one pick up at a designated time & one return pick up at a designated time, with a 15 minute stage time. Round trip vehicles do not remain with the group, and usually have other runs in between your group movements. Round-trip vehicles are only recommended when the Tournament Chair and/or Meeting Planner can guarantee an exact hotel departure time and an exact return departure time. Optional Service Enhancment - Staff (Recommended for multiple vehicles and/or larger tournaments) Mears Transportation Group Staff arrive prior to the vehicles arrivals. They will stage the vehicles at the appropriate entrance, greet the passengers, load, and dispatch the vehicles from the resort and from the golf course. A customary ratio is one Mears staff per 100 guests.
