Recycling/Garbage The City of Toronto asks that all park users do their part to keep our parks clean and beautiful. Please advise your group members to ensure that City parklands are maintained and left clean. All garbage and or recyclables brought to the fields must be removed immediately following the event by the user group. Site convenors are NOT responsible for other school s litter. Each team must do their part to help clean up! Water Bottle Ban A reminder of the City of Toronto's approved water bottle ban which took effect in January of 2012. The ban, which affects most of Toronto's parks and facilities, prohibits the sale and distribution of water bottles in all Civic Centre's, and some facilities and parks. Please see below link indicating specific sites and the exceptions. Exceptions are in place for public health and safety related situations, previous lease agreements and authorized special events in City facilities. http://www1.toronto.ca/staticfiles/city_of_toronto/parks_forestry recreation/permits/files/pdf/waterbottle_exempt_f acilities.pdf OFFICIALS and COACHES: Each site convenor is to meet with the referees and coach prior to the start of the tournament to review the rules and expectations of the day. Referees at the Divisional level will be local high school students. In the event a referee does not show up, we would ask that a coach referee the game. Therefore, all coaches are requested to bring an extra whistle and stopwatch. Carded referee officials will referee the Regional and City Games. We ask for your support and cooperation with the referees especially at the divisional levels. Inclement Weather: The master convenor, along with HPE department, will make the final decision to cancel play if rain and lightening occur during play or if fields are flooded. Site convenors will meet with myself or Pat Paolitto too dicuss field conditions,or expected weather. If inclement weather is forcasted then schools will be notified by 8 am via email by the master convenor as to whether the tournament will take place.

Without you, there wouldn t be a tournament. Referees will be assigned by high schools - We will try for 2 refs for one field site - Talk to the referees and coaches prior to the start to ensure the pace of games, rules and expectations of the day. You are responsible for ensuring that the competition is held in a safe, fair and positive environment. Please refer to the Responsibilities of Coaches/Convenors et. Al. Provided by the TCDSB Athletic Association. You are responsible for ensuring that referees are treated respectfully by all present. Referees will not put up with inappropriate language or behaviour from all those present. The site convenor in consultation with the referee can determine whether a dismissed player (red card) should be barred from further participation in the divisional tournament. **NOTE** A player receiving a red card for violent conduct, spitting at someone or swearing on the field SHALL be barred from competition the remainder of the day. Please hold a brief meeting with all coaches before the tournament to make announcements, state expectations and clarify information. Briefly discuss with the referees that FIFA rules are in affect (2 x 20 minute halves with 5 minute half time, stoppage for injuries or extenuating circumstances) see the North Region Soccer Booklet for additional information. In the event that refs do not show up to the fields coaches are responsible to help ref. We hope that each team coach or volunteer will help officiate games. If coaches refuse to ref a that game or division may be disqualified from the tournament. It is unfair for one team coach or volunteer to ref all games. Coaches please come prepared to ref with a whistle and some form of a stop watch. A ref schedule has been included in this package to help coordinate the day in terms of refing. Ensure that the following materials are available: - a good size 5 ball (each competing team must bring a game ball) - a first aid kit - 2 whistles if referees don t show up or bring them - a stopwatch or watch to keep time

- a set of pinnies if two teams have the same colour jerseys - 4-8 pylons depending on the number of fields at your site to mark the corner flags( Esther Shriner fields are marked so no need) - Each team is responsible for picking up their own litter ( remind coaches at coaches meeting) - immediate access to a phone or cellular phone in case of emergencies Submit Convenor s Report to Francesco Rescigno St. Wilfrid Catholic School Fax: 416-393-5314 PHONE: 416-393-5313 FAX TO Francesco Rescigno Fax #416-393-5314 4-Team (1 FIELD) Round Robin Schedule (As on the tournament sheet) Date Team 1: Team 2: Team 3: Team 4: One field format Score 9:10 1 vs 2 10:00 3 vs 4 10:50 1 vs 3 11:40 2 vs 4 12:30 1 vs 4 1:15 2 vs 3 Points: 4-win, 2-tie, 1-loss Points Team 1: + +=_ Team 2: + +=_ Team 3: + +=_ Team 4: + +=_ Place
