Patinage Quebec AGM Feedback A workshop was led by Nathalie Martin from Patinage Quebec on May 5 th. The purpose of the session was to get feedback from the region skater development coaches, the region skater development reps and the region presidents on last years new skater development program. We shared lessons learned and different ways that things were done in the various regions. This gave us lots of ideas, examples included : Inviting the regional judge to the parents talk Equipe de Quebec members signing autographs at the region seminars The skater development program was a huge success last year and will continue again this year.
2017/2018 Skater Development Program Eric Therrien is the region development coach & Jean Francois Touchette is the official, both selected by Patinage Quebec. Eric and I will be holding an information session with the club development coaches on Sept. 23 rd from 10 am to noon at the Kirkland arena. Eric will be participating in the patron motors training session with Patinage Quebec on Sept. 16 th. The selection criteria for the clubs and region development programs was emailed to the club development coaches, skater development reps and club presidents on Sept. 8 th.

CanSkate Region Seminars Nov. 17, Dec. 15, 2017 and Feb. 16, 2018 Westwood arena in Dorval 5:30 pm to 7:20 pm 50 minutes on ice and 40 minutes off ice Criteria : Girls must be 8 years and under as of July 1, 2017 (no age criteria for boys) Hockey skates are not allowed as this is a figure skating development program Price : $55 for the 3 seminars (includes a new sweatshirt *) Deadline to register : November 1, 2017 * Note : Sweatshirts will not be available for the first seminar
Region STAR 1, STAR 2 and Sans Limites Seminars Nov. 10, Dec. 8, 2017 and Feb. 9, 2018 Westwood arena in Dorval 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm 1 hour & 10 min. on ice and 1 hour off ice Criteria : Girls must be 9 years and under as of July 1, 2017 (no age criteria for boys) Hockey skates are not allowed as this is a figure skating development program Price : $60 for the 3 seminars (includes a new sweatshirt *) Deadline to register : November 1, 2017 * Note : Sweatshirts will not be available for the first seminar
Next Steps The brochures for each program as well as the registration forms were sent out to the skater development reps, club presidents and club development coaches on September 13 th. On the forms we would like to know who are returning skaters to the program from last season The sample evaluations forms from Patinage Quebec that will be re-sent out to the above mentioned individuals as well.

Haute Performance AGM Presentation New Jumps Incentive Patinage Quebec has put an incentive program in place for Pre-Juvenile to Senior skaters for jumps realized in provincial competitions. The younger the skater is the more money they would receive. The jump must be fully rotated, landed and receive a minimum GOE For example, someone under 11 years old that lands a 2A for the first time in competition would receive $300. They would also receive $25 for each subsequent 2A they land.
