It's suggested that the MUTCD standard bicycle signs are used to provide way finding for the route These signs will allow easy connections to other bicycle routes and way finding to points of interest Sign age

Improvements Underway and Funding Partners The crossing at Rt. 29 is going to be improved as part of the Circle Towers redevelopment Fairfax County is willing and ready to fund their portion of the signage on the route PRAB and The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority are working with the city to plan and find funding for the below grade crossing under Picket Rd. GMU has already started working on the recommendations made to campus and could help find funding for some of the signage

Low Hanging Fruit and Fast Results Shared lane markings or bike lanes on Old Lee Highway - Shared lane markings (Rough Order of Magnitude) $13,000 Way finding signage - ROM $19,300 for signs every 250 feet and $9,700 for signs every 500 feet.
