EVENT DETAILS WHAT: Girls n the Run NYC Spring 2017 5k WHEN: Sunday, June 4, 2017 Check- in & GOTR Village pen at 8 am 5k Run/Walk starts prmptly at 9 am WHERE: Rsevelt Island - Firefighters Field, 425 Main Street, New Yrk, NY 10044 Vlunteer Registratin is pen at gtrnyc.rg/5kinf. Imprtant Ntes: Online registratin fr Vlunteers clses Wednesday, May 31, at 10 pm. Vlunteers can register fr a fee f $10, which includes a 5k Vlunteer shirt and a backgrund check. All Vlunteers must cmplete a backgrund check prir t the 5k. Event Timeline: 6:45 am Vlunteer Check- in Opens n Firefighters Field **Vlunteer arrival times will be based n assignment. All vlunteers will receive specific arrival details n the Mnday prir t the 5k. 8 am 5k Runner Check- in & GOTR Village Opens 8:45 am GOTR Village Clses 9 am Girls n the Run NYC 5k Begins! 10:30 am 5k Officially Ends (When the final girl crsses the Finish Line and receives her medal and certificate) & Clean Up Begins **Clean up will end at 11:15am. 2

As girls in ur prgram frm acrss New Yrk City cme tgether t achieve their gals n 5k day, they will be depending n vlunteers like yu t help them shine! Belw are descriptins f ur vlunteer needs: Activity Statins: Activity statin vlunteers help generate excitement fr the girls and families befre the 5k with the happy hair statin and the pht bth. (35 Vlunteers) Happy Hair vlunteers help girls and families get GOTR- ized befre the race with clred hair spray. Pht Bth vlunteers help girls, caches and families capture the jy f the day. Girls, families, and teams are welcme t take pictures! All pictures will be available n Facebk after the event. Curse Marshal: Curse Marshal vlunteers will serve as cheerleaders alng the girls and their running buddies! They will als help t ensure safety f all participants. (60 Vlunteers) Field Set- up: Field Team vlunteers assist with set- up and breakdwn f team site flags, tables and water near the finish line. (35 Vlunteers) Registratin: Registratin vlunteers help check- in runners & distribute t- shirts and bibs t 5k participants [nn- prgram participant runners]. (15 Vlunteers) Water Statin: Water Statin vlunteers hand ut water t participants and encurage them alng the way. (30 Vlunteers) The 5k is pssible because f the supprt f ur amazing vlunteers! All genders are welcme t vlunteer! Can I vlunteer with my cmpany, running team r cmmunity grup? We are happy t have vlunteer grups, small r large! Vlunteer teams f tw r mre can be placed tgether t vlunteer at the 5k event. Team can be created thrugh 5k Vlunteer Registratin. If yu wuld like t discuss registering a vlunteer team, please cntact Summer McKanstry (cntact inf abve). Hw d I register as a vlunteer? Yu can register as a vlunteer by visiting www.gtrnyc.rg/5kinf. There are different vlunteer pprtunities available at the 5k and yu can select yur vlunteer preference when registering. Hw much des it cst t register as a vlunteer? There is a $10 registratin fee fr each vlunteer. The registratin fee includes a backgrund check, and each vlunteer receives a t- shirt. N refunds are given; if yu can n lnger participate in the event, yur registratin will be cnsidered a dnatin t the Girls n the Run NYC prgram. If yu are unable t attend fr any reasn, please let us knw as early as pssible. When & hw will I be ntified f my vlunteer rle and arrival time fr 5k day? On Mnday prir t the 5k, yu will receive yur vlunteer assignment, alng with yur arrival times, yur Team Leader(s) names and instructins related t yur vlunteer rle. This infrmatin will be sent via email t the email yu used when registering. What vlunteer assignments are available fr vlunteers? Vlunteer assignment include 5k Registratin, Curse Marshals, Water Statins, Field Set- up, and Pre- 5k Activity Statins (Happy Hair, Pht Bth, Bling Yur Bib Frame & mre!). Where d I check- in n 5k- day? Please check- in at the Vlunteer Check- in tent lcated n Firefighters Field (see map n Page 5). 4
VOLUNTEER FAQs (CONT.) What time shuld I arrive? Yur arrival time depends n yur assignment. Sme vlunteers will arrive as early as 6:45 am, and sme will arrive as late as 8 am. What shuld I wear? Wear cmfrtable clthes and clsed- ted shes (i.e. jeans, shrts, sneakers, running shes, etc.) The event is held n part grass and part black tp. Yu will receive a vlunteer shirt and vlunteer lanyard n 5k day when yu check- in. Vlunteers are required t wear vlunteer shirts and lanyards at all times during the event. Hw can I get t Firefighters Field n Rsevelt Island? Visit gtrnyc.rg/5kinf fr full details and link t the MTA Trip Planner. ***Please nte parking is limited n Rsevelt Island. Public Transprtatin is strngly encuraged. SUBWAY: Take the F train t the Rsevelt Island stp. TRAM (frm Manhattan): Take the Tramway Car at 59th Street & Secnd Avenue Statin. (Travel time is 4-5 minutes.) Exit at Tramway Statin n Rsevelt Island. BUS (frm Queens): Take the Q102 Queens Surface bus t Rsevelt Island and get ff at the Rsevelt Island Tramway stp. DRIVING: Rsevelt Island has very limited parking in just ne parking garage, and it is unlikely yu will be able t park n Rsevelt Island if yu drive.
