Hodder was fined $200 for using her whip on 4 additional occasions to the 5 permitted prior to the 100m (AR137A(5)(a)(ii)). As J. Dream Stepper Raced wide in the early and middle Momentarily eased from heels near the 100m. Eat the Rich Slow to begin (2L). Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Near the 300m was checked and shifted out abruptly after improving onto heels. Near the 150m was obliged to ease and shift in around heels to continue to improve. Flimflam Slow to begin. Raced greenly and inclined to hang out in the early and middle Milne Bay Bumped and unbalanced over the concluding Ready to Go Go Slow to begin. Approaching the 150m was steadied after improving onto heels and obliged to shift inwards to obtain clear running. Passing 1
the 100m was eased when momentarily disappointed for a run. Buffeted between runners over the concluding Street Patrol Apprentice Ms M. Graham was issued a reprimand for using her whip on 3 additional occasions to the 5 permitted prior to the 100m (AR137A(5)(a)(ii)). RACE 2: Class 1 Handicap 1015m: Cashpaw Inclined to hang out in the middle Near the 100m was eased when tightened for room. Excellero Near the 500m was steadied after improving onto heels. Foxy Walk Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Approaching the 100m was obliged to ease in around heels to continue to improve. Lupita Unable to be tested over the final 50m when held up on heels. Nicco s Lass Raced wide in the early and middle Nourishing Began awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination of the filly did not reveal any abnormality. Rumjar Began awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed it had bowed its off fore tendon and to be lame in that leg. Trainer Mr S. Everson was advised that the mare requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to its next race start. Spinning Quarters Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle Star for Sharyn Slow to begin. Raced wide in the middle RACE 3: Maiden Plate 1420m: Art Attack Eased when hampered on jumping. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding apprentice Ms M. Graham stated that after receiving interference early her mount settled further back than anticipated. Ms Graham added that her mount failed to travel strongly on the bit at any stage and she was required to encourage it along throughout the event to maintain its position. Ms Graham stated that her mount failed to sprint strongly under pressure in the straight and was disappointing in its run to the line. Ms Graham added that she believes her mount shows a more competitive nature when it is able to race in a forward position. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Bernawhoie Raced wide in the early and middle Costanza Shifted out abruptly on jumping. 2
Grey Glamazon Shortly after straightening was eased when awkwardly placed on heels. Near the 200m was obliged to shift out around heels to continue to improve. Jane of Steel Overraced rounding the first turn. Unable to improve rounding the home turn when held up on heels. Mystic Skies Slow to begin and hampered shortly after. RACE 4: Class 1 Handicap 1420m: Battalion Slow to begin and hampered shortly after. Unable to be tested between the 200m and 100m when awkwardly placed inside heels. Crichton (NZ) When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding apprentice J. Murphy stated that from the wide barrier his mount was able to establish a position outside the leader with minimal effort. J. Murphy added that once his mount established that position it work hard against the leader and pulled throughout the middle J. Murphy stated that after working hard in the middle stages he did not ask his mount to sprint until the home turn where it failed to do so and was very disappointing in its run to the line. When questioned, trainer Mr S. Lee stated that the gelding has only recently joined his stable however review of its prior runs suggests that it does not have a strong turn of foot and needs to work into a sprint which it was not afforded today. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Mr Lee reported in the days subsequent that a blood analysis on the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Free Standing Inclined to pull in the middle Guided Passing the 200m was checked after improving onto heels. Unable to be tested for the remainder of the event when held up on heels. Imza Smoothie A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it had bowed its near fore tendon and to be lame in that leg. Trainer Mr H. Kilner was advised that the gelding requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to its next race start. Ponzi Raced wide in the early Real Natural Raced wide in the early and middle Hung out throughout the event and ran very wide on the track from the 600m. Trainer Mr S. Hardy was advised that the gelding is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards on two consecutive occasions prior to its next race start. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Jockey P. Graham was cautioned for his language used on return to scale (AR175(q)). Xian s Pride Raced wide in the early and middle RACE 5: Benchmark 65 Handicap 1420m: Bazza s Boy Slow to begin. Raced wide in the middle 3

Mind Freak Raced wide in the early and middle Perfect Offering Unable to improve over the final 100m when held up on heels. Phast Lad Bounded on jumping. Unable to be tested over the final 50m when held up on heels. Star of Legs Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle Who Is Game Held up on heels and unable to improve approaching the 200m. RACE 6: Benchmark 70 Handicap 1115m: Elite Dubleo When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, in particular what appeared to be intent to lead the event, trainer Mr T. Hardy stated that the form of the race suggested that there would be a strong tempo in the event. Mr Hardy added that from an inside barrier he instructed the geldings rider to ride with vigour early with the expectation that the gelding would be crossed by speedy runners to its outside and settle in a handy position. Mr Hardy added that he was surprised that the gelding had enough speed to hold the lead to the 700m where it was eventually crossed and settled off pace. Knight Templar Inclined to overrace passing the 500m. Lady De Retz Passing the 200m became held up on heels and was unable to be fully tested for the remainder of the event. My Cousin Bossy Bumped on jumping. Inclined to overrace in the middle Polskie Prince Bumped on jumping. Momentarily held up on heels at the entrance to the straight. Sir Barb (NZ) Slow to begin (4L). Trainer Mr T. Commerford was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding. Sixty Paces Raced wide in the early A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to have a poor recovery rate, to be showing signs of distress and tying up. Trainer Ms J. Graham undertook to report the results of a blood analysis on the mare in the coming days. Strada Hill Raced wide in the early and middle 4
RACE 7: Class 3 Handicap 1720m: Country Squire A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be coughing. Trainer Mr D. Campbell was advised that the gelding requires a veterinary certificate of fitness, including the results of an endoscopic examination, prior to its next race start. Mr Campbell was reprimanded for removing the gelding from the racecourse within 30 minutes of the race finish (AR117(3). Dustman Overraced approaching the 1400m and 1200m. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding jockey K. Matheson stated that he intended to settle in a midfield position however his mount failed to muster early speed and settled at the rear of the field. K. Matheson added that the pace of the race was genuine and his mount was under pressure just to keep with the field from the 700m. K. Matheson added that his mount failed to sprint with the field rounding the home turn and just ground away to the line in a dour manner. When questioned, trainer Mr T. Fletcher stated he felt the gelding got too far out of its ground today and would have been better served being able to settle midfield. Mr Fletcher added that to date the gelding has not been able to sustain a long preparation and he will give it a short spell before it competes over the Grafton racing carnival in July. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Lord Zof Raced wide in the early and middle SWABS: Swab samples were taken from all winners and Tee Lexus.
