These draws will be held in the clubhouse on the Thursday evenings preceding the competitions. The finalised draw will be posted on the website on Friday. Once the draw is completed, no alterations can be made without the prior approval of the Competitions Committee. Non return of Score Cards All members MUST return all score cards after each competition. The number of cards returned for a competition determines the Competitions Standard Scratch (CSS) on the day of the competition and affects all members handicap adjustments. Failure by any member to return his score card duly signed will be noted by the Competitions Committee. Any member who fails to return 3 cards will be disqualified from the next major club competition. 6

KNIGHTSBROOK GOLF CLUB SENIORS COMPETITIONS FOR 2017 1. Senior Golfer of the Year All senior members will be eligible to take part in this Competition (50+) 2. Seniors Matchplay Competition This Competition will take place between April and August. All senior members over 50 are eligible. Entry fee 5. Points for G.O.Y will be awarded as follows Winner 5pts Runner Up 3pts Semi Finalists 1pt each 3. Fortnightly Seniors 9 hole re-entry Competition (off ½ current G.U.I. Handicap) Singles Stableford, Entry 3, Re Entry 2. Fortnightly Seniors 9 hole re-entry competition Prizes will depend on numbers of participants. From September onwards the prizes will be Meat Vouchers (1 prize for every 20 entries). This Competition will run concurrently with club 9 hole re-entry Competition. However Senior Cards must be left in Seniors Box. Only one competition can be entered per day. All other qualifying Seniors Competitions i.e. Captain s Prize etc will be played off Official GUI Handicap and adjusted as normal. Up to date Official GUI Handicap to be used for Seniors Matchplay competition. All Seniors Competitions will be off Green Markers with the exception of July Seniors Medal and all Club Major Competitions which will be off whites. 10

4. Seniors Qualifying Competitions (off ½ current G.U.I. Handicap) There will be 10 qualifying Competitions for the Senior Golfer of the Year award. These are President s Prize, Captain s Prize, Vice Captain s Prize and Lady Captain s Prize, Seniors Match play and July Seniors Medal marked SQ in diary. First full week of May (15th 19th), June (12th - 16th), July (3rd - 7th) and August (21st - 25th). These Competitions are qualifiers for Golfer of the Year and are marked SQ in the diary. There is NO re-entry for these competitions only your FIRST ENTRY counts. 5. Seniors Medal The Seniors Medal will take place on Sunday 30th July 2017 - White Tees Strokeplay. KNIGHTSBROOK GOLF CLUB Knightsbrook Golf Club Competition Rules 2017 All players are expected to adhere to the Golf Club Competition Rules. The rules are designed to ensure clarity, fair-play and etiquette, as well as enhancing the competitiveness of our Golf Club Competitions. Handicap & Competitions Committee 3/1/2017 Knightsbrook Golf Club Competition Rules 2017: The Competitions and Handicap Secretary and Committee are responsible for drawing up and interpreting conditions for all golf club competitions. Their decision is final in all matters relating to all competitions. Golf Club Competition Entry Fees: Major Competitions: 10.00/member: Weekly Members : Competition 5.00/member: 9 Hole Fortnightly: Competition 3/Re-entry 2/member: In Major Competitions, positions for prizes will be awarded as follows: 1st, 2nd, Gross, 3rd, Winner Cat 1, Cat 2 & Cat 3 and Second Cat 1, Cat 2 & Cat 3. In Weekly Competitions, if the number of participants is above 30 players, positions will be awarded as follows:1st,2nd, Winner Cat 1, Cat 2, & Cat 3. In Weekly Competitions, if the number of participants is below 30 players, positions will be awarded as follows: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Gross. In Weekly Competitions, if the number of participants is below 15 players, a sweep competition will replace the scheduled competition. In Team Competitions, positions and prizes will be awarded at 70% of what is taken in on the day. Please note Handicap Categories are as follows: Category 1: Handicap Range 0 9 Category 2: Handicap Range 10 18 12

Category 3: Handicap Range 19 28 Ties in all 18 Hole Competitions shall be decided as follows: last 18, 9, 6, 3, 2, 1 holes. Ties in all 13 Hole Competitions shall be decided as follows: last 9, 6, 3, 2, 1 holes. Ties in all 9 Hole Competitions shall be decided as follows: last 9, 6, 3, 2, 1 holes. Gold Medal Final Competition (Strokes off the Medal Tees). Qualifying criteria is as follows: Gold Medal Qualifiers are as follows: 1st, 2nd, Gross, 3rd and the winner of Cat 1, Cat 2 & Cat 3 in each of the Ten Major Competitions. There are 10 Major Golf Club Competitions: (President s Prize, Captain s Prize, Vice-Captains Prizes, Lady Captains Prize, Monthly Medals (April, May, June, July, August and September). In order to win any prize in the above Major Competitions, a player must be a paid up member of Knightsbrook Golf Club. Persons in arrears (Men s Club Levy) will not be eligible to win prizes in any Club Competition. Members must have completed and returned at least 3 single qualifying club competitions in Knightsbrook Golf Club prior to winning any Major Competition. The Golfer of the Year Competition is designed to honour the golfer showing the most consistency throughout the year. This award will be earned on the results of the 10 Major Golf Club Competitions. Points will be awarded based on net scores. Each player may select their best 8 points totals from the 10 counting events outlined in the diary. The player with the highest aggregate points at the end of the season will be declared Golfer of The Year. Points scale: (nett scores) 1st-15pts, 2nd-12pts, 3rd-10pts, 4th- 8pts, 5th-6pts, 6th-5pts, 7th 4pts, 8th-3pts, 9th-2pts, 10th 1pt. The John Cusack Memorial Salver will be presented to the most improved golfer who takes part in a minimum of 10 competitions and who achieves the largest percentage reduction in handicap, as calculated by official GUI software. The Proprietor reserves the right to alter the criteria under which the Salver is awarded. Club Matchplay Competitions are Singles Matchplay, Four- 13

Ball Matchplay & Foursomes Matchplay. Deadline dates for Club Matchplay Competitions will be strictly enforced. Failure to play the match within the allotted time will result in the disqualification of both players unless prior agreement has been obtained from the Handicap and Competitions Secretary. All First Round matches must be completed on time. Club Matchplay Handicaps: Singles Matchplay Competition: The Full difference between the handicaps of the players. Four-Ball Competition: Low handicapper to concede strokes to the other three players based on 90% of the difference between the full handicaps. Foursome Competition: ½ the difference of the combined handicap of partners. Rumble: Full Handicap. Scramble: 10% of combined handicaps. In Matchplay, if level after 18 holes thereafter sudden death (starting at the 1st). Both players pairings are responsible for arranging their match. The Competitions Committee has the sole discretion as it sees fit to amend the rules. All queries regarding handicaps and competition rules etc. should be put in writing to the Handicap and Competitions Secretary. Scoring & Score Cards: RULE 6.1: The player and his caddie are responsible for knowing the Rules. During a stipulated round, for any breach of a rule by his caddie, the players incurs the applicable penalty. RULE 33.1: The Committee must establish the conditions under which a competition is to be played. The Committee has no power to waive a rule of golf. RULE 6.2.b The competitor must ensure that his handicap is recorded on his scorecard before it is returned to the Committee. If no handicap is recorded on his scorecard before it is returned (Rule 6.6b), or if the recorded handicap is higher than that to which he is entitled and this affects the number of strokes 14

received, he is disqualified from the competition, otherwise the Score stands. NOTE: It is each player s responsibility to know the correct hole index at each hole when marking their card. RULE 6.6.a Recording the Scores After each hole, the marker should check the score with the competitor and record it. On completion of the round, the marker must sign the score card and hand it to the competitor. If more than one marker records the scores, each must sign for the part which he is responsible. RULE 6.6.b Signing & Returning Scorecards After completion of the round, the competitor should check his score for each hole and settle any doubtful points with the committee. He must ensure the marker or markers have signed the score card, sign the score card himself and return it to the committee as soon as possible. The penalty for breach of Rule 6.6b is DISQUALIFICATION. RULE 6.6.c Alteration of Score Card No alterations may be made to a scorecard after the competitor has returned it to the committee. RULE 6.6.d Wrong Score for Hole The competitor is responsible for the correctness of the score recorded for each hole on his score card. lf he returns a score for any hole lower than actually taken, he is disqualified. If he returns a score for any hole higher than actually taken, the score as returned stands. NOTE: The committee is responsible for the addition of scores and application of handicap recorded on the score card See Rule 33.5 NOTE 2: in Four-Ball Strokeplay, see also Rule 31.4 and 7a PLEASE MARK SCORE CARDS CAREFULLY AND LEGIBLY. Handicaps:Members playing in club competitions must return all cards otherwise their handicaps are likely to be reduced. Members are obliged to return all cards from open and society competitions that equal or better the course standard scratch. Members are responsible for informing the Handicap and Competitions Secretary if they finish in the top three places in Golf Classics or similar team events. 15

Timesheets for Competitions: Timesheets for weekly competitions open at 10 am on the preceding Friday morning. Tee times can be booked online through Knightsbrook Golf Club internet Tee Reservation Service on our website www.knightsbrookgolfclub.ie This service allows members to book a tee time over the internet and get instant on-screen and email confirmation of their booking. This booking service is an integral part of the club s live computerised booking system, hence tee time availability is accurate and up to date to the second from anywhere in the world. Competition tee times can also be booked by contacting the Golf Shop on 046 9482102. An online waiting list is now available for all weekend competitions. Timesheets for all major competitions will open 15 days in advance. Knightsbrook Golf Club Competition Rules 2017 continued: Before commencing your round please complete the following steps: 1. Pay the entry fee in the Golf Shop. 2. Enter the competition on the computer. On completion of your round, enter your score in the computer and then put your signed scorecard in the slot for scorecards beside the computer monitor. Players are responsible for the proper return of their scorecards. This card should have the date, competition details, handicap, signature and the gross score for stroke play, four-ball, foursomes and preferably the points filled in for each hole to assist in the efficient processing of cards. Players who do not return their score cards after competitions. This impacts on the CSS calculation and effects all players handicap adjustments. Clauses 23 and 24 of the UHS gives Handicap Committee s discretion to deal with players who persistently submit incomplete cards or make Non-Returns if it considers they are attempting to build a handicap. (Pg. 85 CONGU Unified Handicap System). Players failing to return scorecards on completion of their round cause the Handicap Committee additional work and the club would be entitled to suspend a player s right to compete in club competitions for a specified period or for more persistent offences suspend his handicap for an appropriate period. (Clause 17 Dec.1 (p) CONGU Unified Handicap System). The 16

Handicap Committee of Knightsbrook Golf Club has decided that failure to return 3 cards will result in disciplinary action by the committee under the appropriate clause. Golfing Union of Ireland Rules regarding Amateur Status applies in all competitions. Failure to enter your score in the computer for singles competitions may result in disqualification unless in the exceptional case the computer was out of order, and the player indicates this on his scorecard. Members must ensure that scorecards are signed by a fellow member of Knightsbrook Golf Club in all members competitions. Players are also responsible for checking the details of conditions of play on club notice board prior to competitions. Members must make every effort to ensure that their playing partners are not discommoded by late withdrawals. Late withdrawals and or failure to inform Competitions Committee in good time are not acceptable and the Committee will apply the no show policy. Members who are noted to be regular no-shows or who are habitually late for their tee time will receive the following sanctions: Their name will be placed on the No Show List in the clubhouse and will remain there for one month. Should they persist their name will be posted for another month. If necessary, thereafter suspension of handicap will apply. Please avoid slow play. The Competitions Committee will monitor all reports of slow play. If a match fails to keep its place and loses more than one clear hole on players in front, it should allow the match following to pass. Players in a competition shall have precedence both in starting and through the green over players playing ordinary matches. Prizes and Presentations: Prize-winners are asked to attend Presentations or make suitable alternative arrangements for prizes to be collected at the presentation. Where a prize winner cannot attend at presentations, arrangements should be made for the attendance of a substitute representative and should be notified in advance to the Committee. 17

Prizes not collected within 21 days of competition will be redistributed at the discretion of the Competitions Committee. Open Draws All G.O.Y Competitions will be an open draw. Each draw will take place 48 hours prior to competitions. All members must play within the designated club competition times. Request by members for specific times (within competition times) must be made to the competition committee at least 24 hours prior to draws. Once the draw is posted, no changes can be made by individual members. Any unauthorised changes will result in disqualification from the competition. Course Usage and Etiquette: Replace Divots on the fairways. Repair Pitchmarks on the greens. Rake Bunkers at all times. Be ready to play at least 10 minutes before your appointed time. Do not waste time on tees boxes, have your club, tee and ball ready when your turn comes to play. On the fairway have your club selected and your shot lined up, while your partners are playing their shots, if possible. Park your clubs /caddy car at the exit side of the green for easy access to the next tee. Do not mark cards around green mark them on the next tee box. Caddy cars/buggies must be kept well away from tees and greens and bunkers. Players searching for a ball should signal to let players through as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball will not be easily found. They should not continue play until the players have passed and are out of range. Slow play is not acceptable. Keep up with the players in front, not ahead of those behind. The committee will, if necessary, contact or write to constant offenders. lt is mandatory to let the following group play through if you have lost a hole on the group ahead. Mobile phones are not permitted on the course except in the case of emergency. 18

Appropriate Dress Both the Men s and Ladies Committee of Knightsbrook Golf Club are anxious that standards of dress are maintained at a high level, particularly in the clubhouse, on the course and practice areas. To this end, the Committee seek the full co operation of all members and their guests to ensure that appropriate dress is worn at all times. Please note that members have a responsibility to ensure that their guests adhere to the dress code regulations while in the clubhouse or on the course. The following items are unacceptable: Denim jeans/jackets (not acceptable on the golf course) Untailored Shorts Tracksuits Trainers / Running Shoes Collarless & Sleeveless Shirts Tee Shirts Football & Rugby jerseys. Trousers must not be tucked into socks. The management and staff of Knightsbrook Golf Club have been asked to draw these regulations to the attention of those persons who are unsuitably dressed. It is expected that the implementation of this code will be affected with courtesy and common sense. Members Times The agreed Members Tee Times are shown below for Winter & Summer Months: WINTER: 1 November- 31 March inclusive Monday-Friday Open Play. Saturday First 90 Minutes Sunday First 2 hours SUMMER: 1 April 31 October inclusive Monday - Friday Open Play Saturday Members Only Competition First 2.5 hours Sunday Members Only Competition First 3.5 hours Members may enter all standard weekly competitions up to 3.00pm subject to timesheet availability and once their card is marked by another Knightsbrook member. Competitions close at 8.00pm. Entries for all major competitions will only be accepted during 19

official tee off times set by competition committee. 10 green fee guest books available for 150 from the Golf Shop. Members times subject to change. Members are entitled to book tee times seven days in advance for casual golf. Members are not restricted to these times and may book at other times subject to availability. Knightsbrook Golf Club PLC may book green fees into members times if the time is not booked by members by 8.00am the previous day. Members may introduce up to three guests any day of the week at a preferential green fee rate of 15 Monday -Sunday (3 Guests for only 50 Sunday - Thursday). However, guests must play with the member to avail of the rate. Social Events Details of these will be posted on the notice board, sent by email or text and included on the Club website www.knightsbrookgolfclub.ie Club Issues & Complaints Any Member of the Club who wishes to make a complaint or bring an issue to the attention of the committee should do so in writing to the Hon. Secretary who will in turn, where applicable, consult with the Committee and / or Director of Golf. All disciplinary issues will be directed to the relevant committee for adjudication. Under no circumstances should a Member complain directly to committee members, sub-committee members or Knightsbrook Staff. A copy of the clubs disciplinary complaints procedure is available from the Honorary Secretary. All queries regarding handicaps etc. should be put in writing to the Handicap Secretary. 20
