Dräger TSW Elephant 02 Benefits Basic vest Ready for immediate use Using the quick-release buckles, the rebreather can be attached to the basic vest within a matter of seconds. Even under water, the rebreather can be quickly donned and doffed without any problems. Ballistic protection according to protection class 1 or 4 The interior of the basic vest features easily accessible zippered pockets, which can be used to store protection class 1 ballistic panels and protection class 4 ceramic panels to provide ideal protection for your chest and back. Made of highly tear resistant CORDURA tissue, the basic vest is sewn using a special yarn for ballistic vests. High wearing comfort The weight of the basic vest is equally distributed, providing neutral buoyancy to the wearer. The belts can be easily adjusted, allowing the rebreather to be donned quickly and comfortably. The belt buckles can be found safely and intuitively. Thanks to the lacings at the sides, the vest can be quickly adjusted to each individual wearer. Plenty of space for additional equipment Additional equipment, such as bags, holsters or cylinders, can be attached to the 50 mm wide waist belt or to the Molle system in the chest area. Hand-cuff-ties can be stored in the two shoulder pockets. Robust and tested in water with temperatures as low as -4 C The basic jacket consists of highly tearproof CORDURA tissue and is sewed robust even in cold water. Buoyancy compensator Easy inflating and deflating Designed for open water applications, the buoyancy compensator is arranged under a cover of elastic webbing at the back of the basic vest. The buoyancy control device can be inflated using an inflator hose or medium pressure port with quickrelease coupling. The hose can be mounted at the left or at the right. To deflate the compensator, simply pull the inflator hose or open the mouthpiece valve. Compact, aqua-dynamic shape The U-wing shape of the buoyancy compensator significantly reduces water resistance. The elastic webbing firmly presses the empty buoyancy control device to the basic vest; all belts or hoses fit close to the vest. 11 L buoyancy compensation volume The 11 L control device provides comfortable and aerodynamic buoyancy compensation. Lead weights system Space for additional weights The basic vest contains pockets for trim weights with up to 4 kg of soft lead. The central rear area, adjacent to the pockets and below the buoyancy control device, contains an ejectable weight system. Up to 10 kg of soft lead
03 Dräger TSW Elephant Benefits can be stored in five variable pockets on the base plate. The individual pockets are interconnected and protected by an additional cover. Simply eject in case of emergency If you need additional buoyancy in case of emergency, simply pull the rip cord with the soft release handle located above the left hip. The weight system with stored lead weights will immediately be released from the basic vest. Emergency ascent system Additional buoyancy compensation volume in case of emergency In case of emergency, pull the right rip cord with the hard release handle positioned above the hip. The two CO 2 cartridges at the back of the basic vest will open immediately. A separate chamber inside the buoyancy compensator, and the lateral buoyancy devices stored in the two lateral pockets, will be inflated 48 L of additional buoyancy compensation volume at your disposal. Stable dorsal position at the surface Due to the special elephant foot shape of the two lateral buoyancy devices, a large portion of the total volume is distributed next to the rebreather worn on the chest. The weight of the rebreather is almost fully compensated, meaning that the wearer will automatically be brought into a stable remove Face-Up position on the surface of the water. Easy to locate for rescuers Thanks to the eye-catching elephant feet, you can quickly identify and rescue your buddies in the water. Additional advantages Release protection device Weight release and emergency ascent can be locked using clearly visible locking devices, thus preventing systems from being inadvertently released. Rescue strap A strap made of a strong belt material is positioned in the neck area. It allows your buddies to secure you and help you get out of the water quickly. Approved according to DIN ISO 9001
