Hotel accommodation & Welcome Welcome to the fourth edition of MITAS 4 ISLANDS MTB Stage Race! Be prepared to experience wonderful sceneries and breath-taking views mixed with pain and pleasure at each of the stages. To make your experience as easy and memorable as possible, we've created detailed information guide regarding your accommodation package option - HOTEL. Please read this guide before the race. We look forward to spending 4 incredible days on 4 incredible islands with you! Registrations for the race Registration desk will be open one day before the race and in the morning before the start of the first stage. Registration is possible in teams only. Both participants have to present themselves at the registration desk. Start numbers will be given to you only if you bring a signed PERSONAL WORKSHEET to the registration desk 60 minutes before the event at the latest. Please also bring a document with a photo (ID / passport / driving licence) and for UCI licenced riders a valid UCI ELITE licence. Each day the bike depot will be open early enough for you to collect your bike and it will close 30 minutes before the start of each stage. If you want to have your bike serviced, you should request it at the bike depot while handing your bike. We also advise you to do it as soon as possible after the race stage. Serviced bikes can be collected at the bike depot 60 minutes before the start of each stage at the latest and can be handed for service immediately after the finish of each stage. Bike service and bike parts will be available one day before the first stage as well as throughout the race. All services will be provided on site, including fork & shock services, wheel building and tuning, tubeless conversions, etc. The following spare parts will be available: tires, tubes, wheels, wheel axles, chains, cassettes, chainrings, cranks, shifters, derailleurs, cables, cable hoses, lubes, brakes, brake pads and disc rotors, brake hose and oil handlebars, grips, seat posts, saddles, water bottles and bottle cages, helmets, and hydro(back)packs. PLEASE make sure to bring any equipment that is peculiar to your bike such as derailleur hangers, quick links, etc. There will be a service point at each feed zone with an experienced mechanic and basic replacement parts available (including spare tires) to repair your bike and get you to the finish line. The service at the feed zones is free of charge but any spare parts used will be charged. Bike repair service is not included in the starting fee and all costs must be settled when collecting the bike. If you have had your bike serviced and/or parts used/installed, please make sure to pay for them at the end of the day or in the early morning of the next day. Otherwise you will not be able collect your bike from the bike depot and start the next race stage. Repair shop will accept cash payments in EURO and Croatian KUNA as well as credit card payments.!5

10.4.2018: BAŠKA, THE ISLAND OF KRK 14:00-20:00 11.4.2018: BAŠKA, THE ISLAND OF KRK after the stage: 12:30-18:00 12.4.2018: LOPAR, THE ISLAND OF RAB after the stage: 13:30-18:30 13.4.2018: MERAG, THE ISLAND OF CRES after the stage: 13:30-17:50 Daily briefings Daily briefings will be held in the evening hours after each stage on three locations: Hotel Corinthia in Baška (10 April & 11 April), Hotel Sahara in Lopar (12 April) and Hotel Vespera in Mali Lošinj (13 April). Briefings are to last approximately 45 minutes and provide you with detailed information regarding the following stage. Any changes regarding the stages and transfers that can occur due to sudden new circumstances will also be communicated in these briefings. 10.4.2018: BAŠKA, THE ISLAND OF KRK 20:00 hotel Corinthia, congress hall "Lavanda" - briefing for the Stage 1 11.4.2018: BAŠKA, THE ISLAND OF KRK 20:00 hotel Corinthia, congress hall "Lavanda"- briefing for the Stage 2 12.4.2018: LOPAR, THE ISLAND OF RAB 20:00 hotel Sahara - briefing for the Stage 3 13.4.2018: MALI LOŠINJ, THE ISLAND OF LOŠINJ 20:00 hotel Vespera - briefing for the Stage 4 Transfers and luggage Due to logistical complexity of the race, transfers of bikes, participants and luggage are a very important factor for a positive race experience. Upon registration each participant will receive luggage and hand luggage label with adequate straps which need to be attached to the bags.!6

Luggage - the organizer will arrange transfer of one piece of properly labeled luggage. For current purposes, the term luggage refers to bags with a maximum capacity of 120 litres. Hand luggage - the organizer will arrange transfer of one piece of properly labeled hand language. Hand luggage can be dropped off every day before the start and will be delivered to you after each stage at the finish area. The term hand luggage refers to a bag with maximum capacity of 25 litres. Bear in mind that traveling across sea largely depends on weather conditions. Due to various circumstances and the captains judgements related to safe navigation, there is a possibility that the schedule will change at any given moment. Consequently, slight changes in transfer schedules may occur as well, but all detailed information regarding each following stage will be provided to you at the info desk and in daily briefings. In terms of race logistics, feel free to relax as we arrange all required transfers on your behalf.!7

TRANSFER PACKAGE - The race has 3 stationary bases: RACE BASE 1 : Baška (hotel Corinthia, island Krk) RACE BASE 2 : Lopar (hotel Sahara, island Rab) RACE BASE 3 : Sunčana uvala (hotel Vespera, island Mali lošinj) In order to benefit from a safe, precise and timely service of luggage transport please follow the race guidelines. Transfer services (package) includes: Thursday 12 april 2018 Transfer of the participant, their bike and luggage from the base 1 (Baška, the island of Krk) to the start of the second stage (Lopar, Rab) 07:30 Bus transfer: Baška - Valbiska (45min) 08:30 Ferry transfer: Valbiska - Lopar (the island of Rab) (75min) Friday 13 april 2018 Transfer of participants, their bikes and luggage from the base 2 (Lopar, the island of Rab) to the start of the stage 3 (Merag, the island of Cres) and transfer of the participant, their bike and luggage from the finish line in Osor to the base 3 (Mali Lošinj, the island of Lošinj) 07:30-7:50 Bus transfer: Hotel Sahara - Lopar ferry port (10 min) 08:00 Ferry transfer: Lopar ferry port - Merag (the island of Cres) (75 min) 15:30-18:00 Bus transfer: Osor - Sunčana uvala (Hotel Vespera, the island of Mali Lošinj) (30 min) Sunday 15 april 2018 Transfer of participants, their bikes and luggage after the race from Mali Lošinj to Baška (back to where we started in Baška) or directly to an airport in Zagreb, Ljubljana or Trieste if airport transfer has been arranged. 08:00 Bus Transfer: hotel Vespera - Baška (island Krk) (180min) 08:15 Shuttle Airport Transfer: hotel Vespera - airport Zagreb/Ljubljana/Trieste!8

Welcome drink & Press conference Feel free to join us at the opening press conference and enjoy with us the latest race announcements and interviews with elite riders, sponsors and racers from all over the world. After the conference we will serve welcome drinks and continue to chitchat in good company. The press conference and welcome drinks will be organised at Hotel Corinthia - Baška at 18:00 on 10 April. Winner ceremonies & Finisher party After each stage the organizer will hand out awards to stage winners in each category in a stage winners award ceremony. The exact schedule is difficult to predict since it depends on winners time for each category. Hence this is an indicative timetable for each stage. Stage winners award ceremony will be held at: Stage 1-14:30 Stage 2-14:30 Stage 3-15:00 Stage 4-14:30 After each stage the organizer will provide leader's jersey in all categories. They will be handed out to riders during the briefing for next stage. The overall winner ceremony will be held after the Stage 4 at the finish area and it is obligatory for all winners. It will be held in: Sunčana uvala on 14 April 2018 at 17:15 The finisher s party is open to all participants, regardless of whether they have completed the race or not. It will be held at race base 3 in Sunčana uvala (Hotel Vespera, the island of Mali Lošinj). For us, organizers, this is the time to meet you in a more relaxed atmosphere. It is also an opportunity to exchange our experiences and stories and communicate our passion for bikes. Free drinks for all riders will be served from 21:00 to 23:00.!9

Meals During all stages, meals for participants will be served approximately 30 minutes after first finishers enter the finish area and will end 15 minutes after the time limit for the stage. Photo service Photo service of participants during the race will be provided by Spotograf. Based on you starting number you will be able to buy your photos in full resolution. Accommodation - hotel package Together with our partners we were able to provide accommodation that will give you maximum comfort in terms of starting and ending points of each stage. Hotel service package includes four overnight stays (B&B) in 3* and 4* hotels in line with the following schedule: RACE BASE 1 : Baška (hotel Corinthia***, the island of Krk) 2 nights 10.4/11.4 & 11.4/12.4 RACE BASE 2 : Lopar (hotel Sahara***, the island of Rab) 1 night 12.4/13.4 RACE BASE 3 : Sunčana uvala (hotel Vespera****, the island of Mali lošinj) 2 nights 13.4/14.4 & 14.4/15.4.!10

Logistic information Stage 1: The island of Krk Wednesday 11 th April 2018 Stage start: Baška, the island of Krk Stage finish: Baška, the island of Krk Start time: 10:00. Stage time limit: 17:00 TRANSFER OF THE PARTICIPANTS: No transfer of the participants during the first stage. LUGGAGE TRANSFER: There is no luggage transfer during the first stage. BIKE TRANSFER: There is no bike transfer available during the first stage. After the end of the first stage, ALL PARTICIPANTS (except those traveling by boats) are required to hand their bikes at the bike depot which will be located in proximity to finish line, in order for them to be transported to Stage 2. Participants will be able to collect their bikes again at the island Rab at the start of the second stage, immediately before the race. BIKE DEPOT: Before the stage: the depot will be open from 07:00 to 09:00 and will be located next to the starting/finish area. After the stage: ALL PARTICIPANTS are required to hand their bikes at the bike depot by 18:00 at the latest. Important note: If bikes are not handed at the bike depot after the end of the first stage, they will not be transferred to the second stage on the island of Rab.!15

Stage 2: The island of Rab Thursday 12 th April 2018 Stage start: port Lopar, the island of Rab Stage finish: Lopar beach, the island of Rab Start time: 11:00 Stage time limit: 18:00 This is the first time we will move the entire set-up from RACE BASE 1 to RACE BASE 2, namely from Baška (the island of Krk) to Lopar (THE ISLAND OF RAB). TRANSFER OF PARTICIPANTS: Transfer of participants by bus will start in front of Hotel Corinthia (the main entrance) at 07:30. Participants will be transferred from Baška to Valbiska ferry port where they will!16

embark the ferry directly from the bus. The ferry navigates on route Valbiska (the island of Krk) - Lopar (the island of Rab). The arrival of participants to Lopar is scheduled for 09:30. Afterwards participants will have an opportunity to warm up. The Stage 2 starts in the ferry port Lopar (the island of Rab). Please have in mind that you start your day early. Start of Stage 2 is at 11:00 am so we advise to take additional snack in order to start a race with optimum energy level. LUGGAGE TRANSFER: Participants are required to turn their belongings and luggage at 07:15 to be stored in a truck located in front of Hotel Corinthia (the main entrance). Luggage will be transported directly to Hotel Sahara in Lopar and be available between 15:00 and 19:00, which is the time when participants arrive to the hotel after completing the second stage. Luggage needs to be labeled with tags provided to participants in the starting package. BIKE TRANSFER: Your bikes will be available for the stage 2 in Lopar at island Rab (they will be transferred directly from Baška, the island of Krk). Participants will be able to take their bikes from bike depot located at the ferry one hour before the start of the stage 2 in the port of Lopar (THE ISLAND OF RAB). After the finish of the second stage on Rab, all participants should leave their bikes at bike depot in order for them to be transported by a special ferry line directly to the third stage on the island of Cres. Important note: If bikes are not handed at the bike depot after the second stage on Rab, they will not be transferred to the next stage. BIKE DEPOT: Before the stage: Participants will be able to collect their bikes from the bike depot located at the ferry minimum 30 minutes before the start of the Stage 2 in port of Lopar (Rab). Please note: finish line and starting line are not at the same spot for the stage 2. The bike depo at the Stage 2 is located in the Lopar ferry port and will be open 13:00-20:00. After the stage: Participants should ride their bikes to bike depot at the ferry port and leave them there. Official race transport (tourist train) will take participants back to Hotel Lopar beach and will continue to run in both ways so bike service and depo will be available at all times. Official shuttle (tourist train) working hours: Lopar Beach and the Sahara hotel - bike depo & service (ferry port) - Lopar Beach and the Sahara Hotel 13:00-20:00 The ferry transporting bikes will depart directly to the third stage on the island of Cres. Important note: If bikes are not handed at the bike depot after the second stage on the island of Rab, they will not be transferred to the next stage.!17

Stage 3: The island of Cres Friday 13 th April 2018 Stage start: Merag port, the island of Cres Stage finish: the town of Osor, the island of Cres Start time: 10:30 Stage time limit: 17:30 For the second time we will move the entire set-up from RACE BASE 2 to RACE BASE 3, namely from Lopar to Merag. Cres is the only stage of the race in which the start and finish are located 50 kilometres away from each other. Additionally, after the finish in Osor, participants, bikes and luggage should be transferred to Veli Lošinj to RACE BASE 3, which is located 20 kilometres away from the finish line in Osor. ROUTE: Some parts of the route on island Cres is passing over private property and race gained exclusively right to pass. Riding through the route outside the race at Shepherd's paradise (route Lubenice - Ustrine) is not allowed and no rider may distribute any GPS co-ordinates in respect of the Race route at any time (including but not limited to, uploads onto online platforms such as Strava), unless expressly authorized in writing by the organisers or property owner. TRANSFER OF PARTICIPANTS: Transfer of participants from Hotel Sahara to ferry port Lopar is scheduled for 07:30 in the morning with buses or shuttles. At the ferry port Lopar participants will enter the ferry and travel to the start of the Stage 3 - Merag on the island of Cres, which is scheduled for 08:00. Arrival to Merag is scheduled for 09:20. After the stage finishes, buses will transport participants to the Race base 3 - Hotel Vespera in Veli Lošinj (a 20 min drive). LUGGAGE TRANSFER: Participants should leave their luggage in a truck in front of Hotel Sahara at 07:00 in the morning. Luggage will be transported directly to Hotel Vespera in Veli Losinj, and be available between 15:00 and 19:00 when participants arrive to the hotel after the third stage. Luggage has to be labeled with tags provided to participants in the starting package. BIKE TRANSFER: Bikes will be transported to the start of the third stage directly from the second stage, from THE ISLAND OF RAB. Participants will be able to collect their bikes from the bike depot located at the ferry for warm up and the start of the stage 3 in Port of Merag on Cres. After the finish of the stage 3 in Osor participants are required to immediately hand their bikes at the bike depot to be transferred to the bike depot in RACE BASE 3 on the island of Lošinj. BIKE DEPOT: Before the stage: bike depot will be located in the port of Merag (the island of Cres) and participants will be able to collect their bikes before the start of the race. After the stage: bike depot will be in the finish area and will be open from 13:00 to 17:30.!19

Stage 4: The island of Lošinj Saturday 14 th April 2018 Stage start: Mali Lošinj, main square Stage finish: Mali Lošinj, Sunčana uvala Start time: 11:00 Stage time limit: 17:00 TRANSFER OF THE PARTICIPANTS: There is no transfer of participants during this stage. LUGGAGE TRANSFER: There is no luggage transfer available during this stage. BIKE DEPOT: Before the stage: the bike depot will be open from 08:00 to 10:00. Starting line will be marked and located 2 km away from the bike depot. After the stage: the bike depot is open from 12:00 to 18:00 at the same location. BIKE TRANSFER: Participants should hand their bikes at the bike depo for transport at 18:00 at the latest so they could be transferred to the starting point, Race Base 1 - Baška on the island of Krk. AIRPORT TRANSFER PACKAGE: Participants who arranged to have airport transfer are not supposed to use the bike depo after the stage 4. They should take their bikes after the stage 4 to Hotel Vespera where their bike box will be waiting for them. The following day (15 April) they will pick up their bike box at the hotel and load them in an airport shuttle with their luggage.!21

LAST DAY: the island of Lošinj Saturday 15th April 2018 TRANSFER OF PARTICIPANTS: 08:00 - bus transfer to the Race Base 1 - Baška, the island of Krk - Hotel Vespera parking lot The bus will be waiting for participants at the parking lot in front of Hotel Vespera and will transport them and their luggage to Baška, the island of Krk. Arrival to Baška is scheduled for 11:00 am. In Baška participants will be able to collect their bikes at the bike depo. 08:15 - airport transfers - Hotel Vespera parking lot Participants with arranged airport transfer will be transported directly from the hotel to a given airport and are responsible for their luggage and bike boxes. Bike boxes are available at Hotel Vespera.!22
