ATHLETE CENTRED / COACH DRIVEN / PARENT SUPPORTED BECOMING A BOND SWIMMER New swimmers may be invited to join Squad Training for a trial period of up to one week. This trial period allows for both the coach and the swimmer to get a feel for their fit within the Squad. Swimmers booked for a Trial must register at the Sports Centre Reception prior to attending Squad Training. The registration process includes completing a Membership Form, having a Membership ID card issued and payment of the Temporary Squad Registration Fee: $50. Please arrive early to allow time for this. BOND SWIMMING CLUB The Bond Swimming Club is a rising star in the competitive world of swimming. Many of our swimmers represent Bond at State, National and even International events. The Club aims to soar even higher to become Australia s number one ranking club, and we need your help! By becoming Bond Swimming Squad Members you are prepared to join us in our endeavour to achieve this goal. Club Memberships are compulsory for all our Squad swimmers. Club fees are paid yearly and include the following: Registration with Gold Coast Swimming Association Registration with Swimming Queensland Registration with Swimming Australia Comprehensive insurance under Swimming Queensland Club Swim Cap Club Membership Prices and Payment MEMBERSHIP TYPE Per Swimmer COST Transfer from other Clubs Competitive Swimmer 9 years + $115.00 $37.00 Competitive Swimmer 8 years old $60.00 $21.00 Junior Dolphin 7 years & under Free Membership payments are to be made online through MyLane. Payments made to Swimming Queensland will incur a 4% surcharge. Club Days may be held through the year on Saturday mornings, swapping out squad training sessions. Club Day provides a competition platform for swimmers with races against fellow Club Members. It provides a base for which swimmers can attain qualifying times for swimming meets against other Clubs. The activities on Club Day are fun and teach the swimmers about competitive swimming. We encourage all State Development swimmers to participate on Club Days. Swimmers looking to progress to higher Squad training levels should focus on these Club Days as a means to show improved swimming performance. To ensure the swimmers get the best out of Club Days, all parents are expected to show their support and get involved, helping with Club Day activities which include timing, cash handling and BBQ duties. TEMPORARY SWIMMING REGISTRATION The Bond Swimming Club strives to maintain strong relationships with other Clubs throughout Queensland, Australia and Internationally. Upon approval by the Swim Coaches, visiting swimmers are able to attend Squad Training at the Bond University Sport Centre during holiday periods or visits to the Gold Coast. This Registration is required to be paid by all swimmers invited for trial sessions prior to joining Squad Training. A Temporary Squad Registration can be purchased from the Sports Centre reception for $50 and is valid for 1 week. A Membership Form will need to be completed and a Membership ID card will be issued. SQUAD MEMBERSHIP & ATTENDANCE All new members will have been required to fill out a Bond Swimming Membership Form on their initial visit. Membership ID cards must be presented at reception on every visit. We have a strict policy for access to the Sport Centre: access will not be granted to Members who fail to produce their Membership ID. Squad Memberships are available on a month-to-month payment schedule paid directly at reception. Month-to-Month Memberships cannot be suspended or put on hold. Alternatively Squad Memberships can be processed by Direct Debit. This is a 12 month Membership, with no joining or cancellation fees, and has the flexibility to suspend or place the membership on hold. Direct Debits are paid fortnightly. An initial pro-rata fee will need to be taken at reception at the time of joining to catch Members up to the next direct debit run date. SQUAD LEVELS STATE DEVELOPMENT SQUAD The training objective for the state development squad includes skill development, race specific training preparation for competition. Swimmers in this squad are required to compete on a regular basis for the Bond University Swimming Club and aim to reach State level. Swimmers in this squad are required to compete on a regular basis for the Bond University Swimming Club and aim to reach State and National Age level. Swimmers are trained according to their specific needs and a more personalised program is developed for each individual to achieve their goals. The Head Coach must approve entry into this squad.
