Mission & Areas Served Statements Mission Statement To foster an environment for our swimmers to develop self-discipline, self-confidence, perseverance, fitness, good sportsmanship, and teamwork with the best coaching possible to achieve competitive excellence. Background Statement Sacramento Synchronized Swim Team, also known as Sac Synchro and SSST is celebrating its 30th Anniversary! SSST was established in 1985 with 14 founding members coached by nationally ranked swimmers. We are a nonprofit, year-round, competitive synchronized swimming program that competes in competitions all over the United States. Our team ranges in size from 20-45 swimmers between the ages of 6 and 18 who participate in our competitive program and who bring to our team an abundance of ethnic diversity, talent, enthusiasm, and pride for a sport that they love and to a club that is committed to all around excellence. The parent group's countless hours in support of the club's many activities including fund raising and production of water shows is testament to the devotion, which exists within the Sacramento Synchro family. The amazing balance of teamwork between swimmers, coaches and parent will lead us into the next millennium filled with new successes and fulfilled dreams. Needs Statement Sacramento Synchronized Swim Team is a 501c-3 non-profit, year round, nationally ranked swim team registered with the USSS and the only competitive team serving the Sacramento Area. Donations by clubs/organizations as well as local and regional businesses and corporations are the most significant and direct way to help SSST maintain and perpetuate its 25+ year history of excellence in synchro. These donations help support our swimmers in a variety of ways: they help maintain a high caliber coaching staff they help fund the array of expenses cumulated at meets throughout the United States they help swimmers obtain competition suits, uniforms, and other necessary gear they help the team rent pool time for practice CEO/Executive Director Statement The Sacramento Synchronized Swim Team continues to promote the art of synchro to aspiring swimmers of all ages. We believe that every swimmer has something special to offer to our program. Sacramento Synchronized Swim Team practices and performances benefit swimmers by the beauty and discipline of synchronized swimming. Programs Programs Sacramento Synchronized Swim Team Clinics Description Sacramento Synchro offers clinics several times a year for new and returning swimmers who would like to learn the basics of synchronized swimming in a non-competitive way. Swimmers will be featured in a team routine in exhibitions and our annual water show. We highly encourage clinic swimmers to continue on to our recreational or competitive teams. Swimmers will need their own personal equipment on one nose clip, goggles, swim cap, and large towel for every practice. Noseclips are $2.50 each and can be purchased at the pool. Budget $3,500.00 Category Population Served Program Successes Program Success Monitored By Arts, Culture & Humanities, General/Other Performing Arts Children and Youth (0-19 years) Swimmers from ages of 5-13 often experience amazing success in the short time allotted in Sac Synchro Clinic Programs. Most clinics are held at the Mira Loma High School Pool on Edison. Success monitored by swimmer attendance and the amount of swimmers that participate in clinics and subsequently choose to become full time swimmers. 3

Novice and Intermediate Programs Description Novice (beginner) and Intermediate level (advanced beginner) swimmers, ages 6-12 years practice starting in September until the end of July or early August. Swimmers must be able to swim 20 feed, any stroke, in deep water. No synchro experience required. The competition meet season begins in January, and all Novice and Intermediate Programs practice at the Mira Loma High School Pool, 4000 Edison Ave., Sacramento. Swimmers will practice together two nights per week for the first month. The coaches will then separate the swimmers into teams of up to eight by skill and age. They will practice figures and elements appropriate for their skill level, and the develop a team routine for regional competition in the Spring. SSST will provide costumes for the team routine. Budget $6,045.00 Category Population Served Program Successes Program Success Monitored By Arts, Culture & Humanities, General/Other Performing Arts Children and Youth (0-19 years) After the first month of practice, the coaches may offer some more advanced swimmers on opportunity to swim an additional trio, duet, or solo routine with the commitment of an additional Saturday morning practice. Because of the additional coaching and pool time, the dues for swimmers who accept this opportunity will increase. Costumes for the additional routines can be borrowed from the team's large selection of beautiful suits, or can be purchased by the families at their own cost. Success monitored by attendance of swimmers to practice and swim meets. Success also monitored by performance of swimmers at swim competitions. Age Group Programs Description The Sacramento Synchronized Swim Team Age Group programs are the most competitive option provided for swimmers. Swimmers are divided into age levels for practices. The programs are Age Group 12 & Under, Age Group 13-15 & Age Group 16 and Over. Team formation is based on age and ability level. Our season begins in September and continues to the end of July or early August. Our competition season begins in January. Budget $47,000.00 Category Population Served Program Successes Program Success Monitored By Arts, Culture & Humanities, General/Other Performing Arts Children and Youth (0-19 years) Our team competes in meets beginning in January and continue through late July. Most beginning age group swimmers participate in 5 meets held in the Pacific Association. Teams in our association include Sacramento, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Santa Clara, Los Gatos, and Santa Rosa. We also hold meets with the Central Association, which includes teams from the Monterey Peninsula. Program success monitored by performance of swimmers at swim competitions and by tracking attendance of swimmers at practice. 4
