TVCC Cardettes Dance MiniCamp June 22-24, 2018 for ages 12-15 and/or beginner/ intermediate dancers
How to Register 1. Go to www.tvcc.edu/cardettes to register and pay online. You will receive a payment confirmation and receipt which you will need to present upon check-in. Keep this receipt! 2. Submit camp form packet by June 1. The form packet, which is found on the Cardette website, consists of: Liability Waiver Form Roommate Request Form Medical Information Form Photo Release Form **Clearly write your email address for updates. 3. Wait for emailed camp updates around June 10 in regard to dorm assignment and fun camp additions. 4. See you at check-in on June 22 ready to dance your out!
Camp Staff Dance Your Heart Out Mini Camp staff are ready to get excited with you! The staff for this camp is simply incredible! Each instructor is experienced in teaching both advanced dancers and dancers just entering the field. What this means to you is that you will have an incredible opportunity to learn and take back what you learn! Staff consists of former TVCC Cardettes who are currently or have worked in the dance field as well as you will learn and dance alongside the internationally known TVCC Cardettes!
What To Expect Are you a dancer just entering the world of dance or have been studio dancing a few years but interested in learning more? Dance Your Heart Out mini camp is a perfect place for you! This camp is designed to teach dancers ages 12-15 the skills necessary to be a successful dancer and traits to aid in your growth as a leader. You will learn a variety of original choreography, technical elements and dance styles in jazz, pom, hip-hop, and contemporary. There are numerous opportunities to work one-on-one with the staff and current Cardettes as well as attend sessions on performance, leadership skills, and life skills. Beginner and intermediate level dances Instruction from talented former Cardettes who currently work in the dance or drill team field Individual attention Motivating atmosphere Leadership seminars Opportunity for individual recognition Meet new friends So much more! Campers will stay in a TVCC residential hall supervised by adult camp staff. Meals are included in camp fees and will be provided in the TVCC Cafeteria. Cardette Dance Camp * schedule subject to change upon number of dancers DAY ONE 12:30 p.m. Registration at assigned residential hall. Get room key and camp packets. 1:45 p.m. Camp begins in the Cardinal Gym 1:45-4:45 p.m. Stretch, progressions, learn camp dance and game time 5-6:30 p.m. Dinner and relax time 6:30-8:30 p.m. Technique classes (pirouettes, dancer basics, leaps), seminar, recognition, and get a sneak peek into day two 9:30 p.m. Residential hall curfew and buddy room check 10:30 p.m. Lights out! DAY TWO 7:15-8:00 a.m. Breakfast in TVCC Cafeteria 8:45 a.m. Buddy roll call in Cardinal Gym 9 a.m. - noon Stretch, progressions, technique classes (kicks, toe touches, leaps), learn Routine A (choose between a jazz or pom) and awards Noon - 1:30 p.m. Lunch in TVCC Cafeteria and relax time 1:30-4:30 p.m. Stretch, seminar, technique classes (axels, discs, tilts) learn Routine B (choose between contemporary or hip-hop) and recognition 4:30-5 p.m. Optional officer leadership seminar 5-6:30 p.m. Dinner in TVCC Cafeteria and relax time 6:30-8:30 p.m. Meet in the Cardinal Gym for FUN NIGHT with your buddy! 9:30 p.m. Residential hall curfew and buddy room check 10:30 p.m. Lights out!
