4 INTRODUCTION CEODEUX MEDITEC SOLUTIONS Patient therapy and safety is our main focus in the design, installation, commissioning and operation of medical gas equipment QUANTITY OF SUPPLY Regulators are designed in such a way sufficient medical gas capacity can be ensured in order to provide the required pressures and flows of gases for the intended number of patients to be treated at any time. IDENTITY OF SUPPLY All our products are designed, produced and controlled for a specific medical gas. All points to which the user or technical staff can connect are gas specified. There is no risk of misconnection. QUALITY OF SUPPLY Our regulators maintain quality of supplied medical gases thanks to appropriate selection of material, components cleanliness and internal filtration equipment. INTRODUCTION 5 THE MAIN MEDICAL GASES Symbol Name Application Source Type O 2 Air N 2 O CO 2 Air N 2 Oxygen Air Nitrous Oxide Carbon Dioxide Surgical Air Nitrogen Oxygen is one of the most extensively used gases for respiratory therapy and life-support and is additionally used in anesthetic procedures. Medical air is mainly used in respiratory therapy as a power source for patient ventilators, and for blending with oxygen. It is also used as the driving gas for nebulized drugs and chemotherapy agents. Nitrous oxide is used for anesthetic and analgesic purposes, being mixed with air, oxygen, and nebulized agents. Carbon dioxide is used less commonly now as a respiratory stimulant, and for insufflation during surgery. Surgical air (of medical air quality) is also used, at a higher pressure, to power a variety of surgical tools and other devices such as tourniquets. As an alternative, nitrogen can be used for the same purpose as surgical air.
