LEAGUE PLAY All games will begin at the scheduled time. As soon as the previous game is over, the following game coaches will report to the scorer s table and report their starters for the next game. Players will take the court and prepare for the game to begin. The game will consist of two twenty-minute halves with a running clock. The clock will begin once the ball is touched by a game participant. No overtime will be played during the regular season. Games will end in a tie. Exception: Middle School Leagues will have overtime during playoffs. There will be two minutes between halves if time permits. o During this time, coaches will meet with referees to discuss any concerns about the game. Coaches are not allowed to question, argue or ride referees about calls but ask for interpretation of what is being called. Staff are encouraged to review the rules available at every game site. o Referee will start the half-time clock after the meeting. At the start of the second half, the teams switch basketball goals. Timeouts: Each team will have (2) thirty-second time-outs per half, which are non-cumulative. Use them or lose them! Teams must be ready to return to floor and resume play by the second warning horn. (The first warning horn) is sounded 15 seconds prior to the end of any time out. Stoppage time will be in effect the last two minutes of the game. The clock will stop for all referee whistles as well as time-outs. The clock will restart once a player on the court touches the ball. Blowouts o The clock will run and supersede stoppage time when a team is up by 20 points or more. The team that is leading must play a 2-3 basic non-attacking zone defense inside the 3-point line.
