Dear Parents and Players, Welcome to our third edition of CNCs 2011 newsletter. CNC athletes have been busy with team games, carnivals and the MAC Weekend. Well done to all of you! Talking of the MAC Weekend: It was awesome watching JNA s Open team win their final well done ladies! CNC would also like to congratulate the Australian Diamonds team who are now World Netball Champions. Our West Coast Fever players, Susan Fuhrmann and Caitlin Bassett were inspirational. From Saturday 6th August, the new Clubrooms kiosk will be operating. CNC will be looking for volunteers to man the kiosk on Saturday 10/9 08:30 12:00. If you can help out, please contact Sharon Knott 0408 695 113 CNC Fundraising Committee have been busy organizing our Quiz Night. Have you booked a table yet? If you have a business or know somebody who would kindly donate please contact Sharon Hawkins: 0416 170 346 OR 9304 2514. Team photo s are taking place this Wednesday 10/8/11 at the new club rooms. All coaches/managers have team schedules. See you on the courts :)

Development Team Update JNA News Congratulations to Shannyn Casey, Sasha Sing and Bianca Van Der Westhuizen, who made it through as WCNR Academy representatives. This is a real feather in the cap for Currambine as we have the most representatives from JNA who got through. This is also a huge step and we are looking at potential West Coast Falcon State League reps for the future! The Flames I am really pleased how The Flames are progressing. Our last match the girls were amazing, they used the court really well and put into practice training drills that we had been practicing. Our girls work really well as a team, to support each other and encourage each others development. It s a pleasure to train them. Keep up the fantastic work girls!!! Coach: Abigail Fishwick - Words by Warren Wheatley Reminder for all members that umbrellas are not allowed on the courts under any circumstances (this includes scorers & timers on all courts and spectators on court 5). They are permitted on the grassed areas, but ensuring that you stand a good distance back from the hard surface around courts if doing so. Please be aware of umpires running the sidelines and even players running out of court to retrieve a ball. We had an incident recently where an umpire could have been seriously injured.

Umpiring Photography I would like to say how proud I have been with the way in which all of our umpires have been presenting themselves at carnivals. Both with professionalism, confidence and Rule knowledge - often, being the stronger umpire on the game. I would also like to congratulate our JNA squad umpires so far for 2011 - Sheridan Barnett, Taylah McNair Hogben and Bailey McNair Hogben. These 3 girls join Erin Kavanagh and Shannon Miller as Currambine s contingent on the Joondalup Netball Association Squad of umpires. Well done to all.
