HISTORY - WANGARATTA FESTIVAL OF DANCE In 1997, the first dance competition was held under the Wangaratta Eisteddfod Society for their fortieth year and final competition. The popular dance section then evolved and continued to grow as the Wangaratta Festival of Dance. The festival was formed by a group of interested people who are actively engaged in the encouragement of all aspects of dance and believe in the continued support for the promotion, appreciation and participation of the performing arts for the children and youth of our region.
