Pot Belly Babies Elephant Pattern set includes patterns for elephant, bib and rattle. When made with the specified yarns and hook sizes, elephant measures 14 inches L and 14 ½ inches around belly, with a sitting height of 11 inches; bib measures 2 ¾ inches L x 3 inches W and rattle measures 5 inches L x 2 ½ inches W. These patterns are crocheted in the amigurumi style of continuous rounds beginning from a double yarn loop. Marking the last stitch of rounds with a small length of yarn or a safety pin will help you to keep track. 1

Weave in all ends, with the long white yarn length, weave in around white perimeter of bib to give it strength and stop any curling, weave in the accent color ends across back of flat top to give that a little extra stiffness. Press flat between hands for a minute or two if necessary to block. Weave in chain ends down into the back loops of 4 or 5 chains and back up again, snip and pull so end is hidden in chain. 6

Rnd 15: *2 sc dec* 7 times to close, tie off, with yarn needle thread yarn through closing round and out a couple rounds away, pull taut and snip to keep yarn end inside. Repeat with all remaining yarn ends. Assembly Stuff back legs and pin to body on either side of lower body below swell of pot belly, pointing toe ridges upward, sew each on. Stuff tail and pin to the lower center back of the body, sew on. Stuff front legs and sew to either side of the front below neck area. Stuff body, rounding out belly, stuff neck area so it is firm enough to keep head up.
