AUSTRALIS Captain Graham Bell British Previous Yachts: M/Y NASSIMA (49m) M/Y FAMILY DAY (65m) M/Y ADORRA (60m) Interests/Languages: Scuba diving, tennis French Graham has gained excellent knowledge of the Yachting industry over several decades and he discovered his love of the ocean at an early age. He also attended 1 year of electrical engineering apprenticeship but, quickly decided otherwise. Graham gained a wealth of experience moving up the ranks and he has served on board large charter yachts for the past 15 years including NASSIMA, FAMILY DAY, ADORRA and LA NATURALLE DEE cruising all oceans and circumnavigated the world. He is a vivid diver, tennis player and during winter months skiing. Throughout his life he has been interested in motorcycles and has enjoyed many touring holidays as well as off road riding. He is computer literate, and enjoy foreign travel and photography Chief Stewardess Natashja Uddenberg Swedish/ Australian Interests/ Languages: Swedish and English Wake boarding Extreme sports Cooking Natashja was born and raised in Sweden, but soon found herself in the UK joining the Hotel/ restaurant industry. Her passion for traveling took her all over the world and she joined the yachting industry in 2009 and have since then steadily gained experience on board LA DEA, IL CIGNO, NOA VII, MUMU and VIRGINIAN. She is very energetic and caring always making sure her Guests are at their best at all times. Chef Jamie Scott British/ South African Interests/ Languages: English DJ music Wine tasting Waterskiing Mountain climbing Jamie is a certified Gordon Bleu Chef and has great passion for his field. He has gained thorough experience in the Culinary in industry in South Africa and later in private homes in the South of France before joining the yachting industry in 2010 and has since then impressed his guests on board GOLDEN HORN, MUMU, PHOENIX before joining AUSTRALIS in 2014. He loves surprising his guests with his delicious dishes and local delicacies in any part of the world. His fun and bubbly character makes him a member of the team with full entertainment value. Engineer David Mitchell British Interests/ Languages: Scuba diving (rescue diver) Skiing Camping Reading David s engineering background allows him to approach any system, electrical or mechanical with an in depth knowledge, gaining 14 years on a vast range of machines and systems before joining the yachting industry in 2003. He is a very intuitive engineer with excellent fault finding abilities; this coupled with his high standard of work and safe practices gaining experience on board MIDAS TOUCH, MOSAFA and HARMONY. He is of very outgoing nature and cares deeply for the safety of his guests at all time. First Officer James Wilkinson British Interests/ Languages: English, basic French and Spanish Scuba diving Tennis Cycling Photography James has gained a lot of experience in various fields throughout the years including fundraising, boatbuilding and served on board 58m FLEURTJE as a carpenter before graduating as a fully certified MCA Chief Mate he joined the yachting industry in 2007 and has since worked on many yachts including well-known charter boats ATMOSPHERE, LADY ANNE PB and AUDACIA. James has vast knowledge of the Mediterranean and Caribbean which is invaluable to all on board AUSTRALIS. James knowledge of the seas, friendly demeanour and love and experience of diving and waters sports will ensure all guests will have a fun filled time aboard AUSTRALIS, whilst also looking after your welfare. Bosun - Clive Baker British Interests/ Language Skiing, boxing and football Clive goes by the name of Billy, he is Cornish boy having been born and raised in Penzance. Billy studied sports and science at the Cornwell college. After finishing his diploma Billy joined the Army where he completed two operational tours of Northern Ireland. During this time Billy also represented the Army in skiing, boxing and football. Billy lived in New Zealand for seven months, which is where he first heard about yachting through his friends and so he moved back to Europe to join the industry. This is now Billy s fourth year in yachting where he hopes to continue and develop his career, Billy s friendly hardworking and easy going personality makes him an invaluable crew member on board AUSTRALIS. Billy is always on hand to assist guest in all their out door activities, You will be sure to see him laughing and smiling working around the deck. Stewardess - Mary Cope American Interests/ Languages: Horse training Mary grew up in Savannah, Georgia USA where the inter-coastal setting provided abundant opportunity for enjoying the great outdoors on the water. From offshore fishing trips to late summer crabbing and shrimping living off the land and having fun doing it is a way of life for the locals of Savannah. Though fun in the sun has its perks Mary s passion in life is training horses. Before Mary joined AUSTRALIS she was training jumpers for an International Riding Academy based in Hilton Head, South Carolina. After retiring her main horse due to an injury she decided to take a break from the equestrian world and do some traveling. Stewardess Iling Lai Taiwanese Interests/ Languages: Taiwanese, Mandarin, English Open water PADI diver Skiing Cooking After completing a Nautical Academy intermediate in Service, Housekeeping and Hospitality, Iling worked as a Shop Manager in Taiwan before starting her worldwide travels with her husband David (Ch. Engineer on board). She has gained experience on board MV HARMONY and is thrilled with the yachting lifestyle which brings her the luxury of travelling and learning at the same time. She is a PADI diver and speaks Mandarin Chinese as well as English. Iling has a very kind and caring character and is eager to keep the yacht tidy and comfortable at all times she joined AUSTRALIS in 2014. 2 nd Engineer Frazer Walker British Frazer grew up in England where he studied electronic engineering at The University of York before deciding to begin a career in Yachting. He is currently employed as a second engineer but plans to work his way up to becoming a chief. Prior to moving abroad Frazer had not spent much time at sea but had a little experience with boating on his Fathers narrow boat travelling on rivers and canals. During university Frazer also took part in army training with the TA at weekends and enjoys keeping fit in general.
