We are looking forward to seeing you at the 59th Fun Day for GDB s 75 th Birthday Carnival! Saturday, July 29 on the San Rafael, California campus! Please read carefully, as there are some changes from previous years: We are expecting a large crowd! We will welcome you with an Opening Ceremony at 9:00 a.m. There will be games and activities running all day; see the schedule below for presentations and ceremonies. The littermate list will not be included in your printed program; please review the list online (www.guidedogs.com/funday) for the time and number of your spot before you arrive. Again this year: we will not have shuttles available from our offsite parking at the Northgate Mall. However, we will have a loading/unloading zone on campus. We ask that you unload your passengers as needed, utilize the offsite parking and walk to the event (approximately the length of 2-3 city blocks). On-campus parking will be reserved primarily for those with disabled parking placards, or those who are unable to walk to campus. This is especially true this year, as much of our parking is unavailable due to the Puppy Center construction project. July in California can be HOT (but mornings can be cool), so come prepared for you and your puppy! We will have a rest spot for tired, hot puppies to cool off beginning at 10am. We encourage you to bring your smartphones and cameras to capture your special moments. Please use hashtag #GDBFunDay so we can all enjoy each other s photos and posts about the big day. We will be providing lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We will have gluten free and vegetarian options available. Again this year, we will not be serving water in bottles; instead, we will have a central human water station with
filtered water and ice available. Please bring your own bottles to fill up as needed (we will have some cups available, or you can purchase a new bottle in the Gift Shop). We will have separate dog water stations. We encourage you to bring blankets and chairs and make yourselves at home. Don t miss the activities and presentations that make this day special. A map and directions to off-site parking are also included. Carpooling is highly recommended due to the size of the event. In addition to being open on Fun Day, the Gift Shop will be open on Friday, July 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., so if you can, stop on by to see all of our new merchandise and beat the big rush! We look forward to seeing all of you! The staff at Guide Dogs for the Blind
