National Futures Championship teams will be mixed nationally for all age divisions. Teams will be posted on usafieldhockey.com on or before June 21, 2015. Please be sure to check your team before you travel to the championship event. Welcome to Spooky Nook Sports! Our top priority at Spooky Nook is making sure you have a great experience during your visit! As an organization, we are committed to operating the finest sports and entertainment complex in North America; with first-class facilities, dynamic programming, unrivaled instruction, and friendly, professional staff. Please be advised that we do have parking and food/beverage policies that we ask you review before you join us for your event. These policies are listed below as well as at www.spookynooksports.com. FOOD & BEVERAGE Coolers and outside food and beverage are prohibited inside and outside the facility. Spooky Nook Sports offers a wide array of food service options at our Smoothie Bar and Food Court areas. PARKING There will be a charge of $5.00 per vehicle, per day, for parking in the Spooky Nook lot. Parking onsite at Spooky Nook Sports is on a first come, first serve basis so we encourage all guests to arrive early. Once all of our onsite parking lots are full, we accommodate guests at auxiliary parking lots located within a few miles of our facility. Specific locations and directions to the auxiliary parking lots will be provided. SNS will shuttle guests from the facility back to the auxiliary parking lots at no extra cost. Shuttles will run continuously throughout the day and will pick you up outside the front entrance of the building. Shuttle schedule will be determined closer to your event date and will be posted on our website and available at our Guest Services desk at SNS.
Olympic Day, held annually on June 23 is celebrated by thousands of people, in more than 160 countries. Commemorating the birth of the modern Olympic Games, Olympic Day is not only a celebration, but an international effort to promote fitness and well-being in addition to Olympic ideals of Fair Play, Perseverance, Respect and Sportsmanship. The United States began celebrating Olympic Day in 2009 and has continued to grow each year. In 2012, more than 200,000 people in 529 communities across the United States hosted 632 Olympic Day celebrations. Host organizations and cities joined more than 550 Olympians and Paralympians in proclaiming Olympic Day and celebrating Olympism in their communities. From May 31 June 30, 2014 communities across the United States will celebrate Olympic Day through educational programming, events and other activities and USA Field Hockey will take part in the event by hosting several "special events" throughout the National Futures Championship. By celebrating Olympic Day, we not only can improve the communities we live in today, we can inspire the champions of tomorrow! Harrow Sports, the presenting sponsor of the National Futures Championship, will be selling exclusive National Futures Championship gear! 2015-16 SELECTION OPPORTUNITIES Through your participation at the National Futures Championship, you will have the opportunity for selection to advanced USA Field Hockey Olympic Development programs. The following selection opportunities are available directly from the National Futures Championship: Futures Elite Junior National Camp AAU Junior Olympic Games (U14/U16 only) Approx. 125 athletes Approx. 30 athletes Approx. 128 athletes IMPORTANT: Junior National Camp Selections will be posted online on July 2, 2015 at 8:00 PM EST. Selections for the AAU Junior Olympic Games will be posted online by July 6th at 10 PM EST. For Junior Olympics, athletes must accept their invitation by July 10th to register online. Futures Elite selections will be posted by September 30th at 8 PM EST. Electronic confirmations will be sent to all selected athletes. FUTURES ELITE Futures Elite is the top level of the Olympic Development Pipeline, including Futures Elite and the U17, U19 and U21 Junior National Squads. Futures Elite exists to provide additional training and competition opportunities for athletes identified with the potential to someday represent the USA. The top 72 athletes from the Futures Elite program will have the opportunity to participate in the Futures Elite Championship - a premier event that is highly attended by college coaches. Futures Elite represents the best high school field hockey athletes in the country. These athletes have been identified as having the skills, talent, and potential to successfully continue through the Olympic Development Pipeline. Futures Elite includes approximately 150-200 athletes spanning the U14, U16 and U19 age groups. All Futures Elite athletes must participate in the 2016 Futures Program to remain in the Futures Elite Program.
NATIONAL FUTURES CHAMPIONSHIP ATHLETE PACKET JUNIOR NATIONAL CAMP July 5th- July 8th, 2015, Spooky Nook Sports The Junior National Camp is the premier camp for Under-21 athletes, comprised of the top 110 athletes selected from National Futures and Futures Elite Championships and the Under 21 Championship. Based on their performances at the camp, athletes may earn selection to additional USA Field Hockey programs including: USA Under-17, Under-19, and Under-21 Junior National Teams Recommendation to tryout at a 2015 High Performance Center USA Field Hockey National Squad Junior National Camp Selections will be posted online 5-hours after the Championship Game within the athlete s age group. Athletes will be called to verbally accept their invitation and must register online prior to the start of Junior National Camp. Estimated Cost for Junior National Camp: $550 plus travel AAU JUNIOR OLYMPICS August 4 8, 2015, Virginia Beach, Virginia The Amateur Athletic Union s premier multi-sport event, the AAU Junior Olympic Games bring together more than 12,000 athletes to compete in 24 sports. In the sport of field hockey, USA Field Hockey selects eight U16 teams (approximately 128 athletes) to participate in the annual event. The event provides U16 athletes with the opportunity to experience an Olympic-like multi-sport competition while enjoying the camaraderie and inspiration from other top athletes in other featured sports. Selected athletes are responsible for all of their expenses, including the AAU tournament fee, travel, housing and food. Based on their performances at the event, athletes may receive an invitation to join the Futures Elite program. Selections for the AAU Junior Olympic Games will be posted online by July 6th at 10 PM EST. Junior Olympic Athletes have until July 10, 2015 to register online in their USA Field Hockey membership account. Estimated Cost: $275 plus room & board, travel, and AAU fees
