The intent of this document is to provide written documentation as to the activities of Acoma Game and Fish on a calendar year basis. Upon Tribal Council approval this document will become the guiding force behind all Non-Tribal Member hunts administered through the Acoma Game and Fish Enterprise. Non-Tribal Member and Non-Native permits will be printed and signed by a representative of the Acoma Game and Fish Enterprise. The copied permit will be physically or electronically delivered to the Pueblo of Acoma Land Office. It will be the responsibility of the Acoma Land Office to forward a copy to the Acoma Natural Resource Conservation Law Enforcement Department. In an effort to improve the management quality of the elk herd, the Pueblo of Acoma will be taking a proactive approach to ensuring the quality of the herd and success rates in future years by reducing the available licenses for the 2017/2018 Trophy Hunt Season. Rifle Cow Elk Hunts: The Pueblo of Acoma will NOT offer Cow Elk Hunts to any non-tribal members, non-natives or in-laws in 2017-2018. Conservation Tags: The Pueblo of Acoma may, from time to time, authorize Conservation tag hunts. The purpose of these hunts is to raise money for conservation work on the Pueblo of Acoma. Examples of this type of work include repairs to dirt tanks, windmills, thinning projects, spring development, etc. Other hunts offered: The Outfitter for the Bear and Mountain Lion Hunts will be Wade Lemon Outfitters. Disabled Hunters and Mobility-Impaired Hunters The Acoma Big Game Hunts offers licenses to hunters with disabilities. In addition the Acoma Big Game Hunts offers privileges to license holders with permanent or temporary impairments. Big game hunting licenses are available to hunters with severe disabilities. A severe disability includes one or more physical or mental disabilities resulting from amputation, arthritis, autism, blindness, burn injury, cancer, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, mental retardation, muscular dystrophy, musculoskeletal disorders, neurological disorders, paraplegia, quadriplegia and other spinal cord conditions, sickle cell anemia, and end stage renal disease or a combination of permanent disabilities which can cause comparable substantial functional limitations. A reduced fee license may be purchased from the Acoma Big Game Hunts Office. Individuals must be able to provide proof of disability to legally hold a reduced-fee handicapped license. Reduced-fee handicapped licenses allow the license holder to be accompanied by another person to assist in tracking, retrieving and killing the game. Reasonable Accommodations Available to Non-resident big game hunters Reasonable accommodations are available to nonresidents who have temporary, unique or special needs. Reasonable accommodations are handled on a case-by-case basis. Proof of disability or impairment, a brief description of limitations, and accommodations that are requested must be submitted in writing prior to arrival. Reasonable accommodations are as follows: A. The opportunity to shoot at and kill protected species, with a proper and valid license, during their respective seasons from a stationary motor-driven vehicle that is not on a public road or highway. B. The option of using a crossbow on archery and muzzleloader only hunts. Crossbows used on these hunts may not have scopes, telescopic sights or magnifications devices. C. Assistance in tracking, killing, and retrieving big game which has been wounded by the licensed mobility impaired hunter. D. Assistance with retrieving game. The cost for disabled hunters: $12,500.00 Definitions: Crossbow and Bolt: Crossbow use is legal during archery and muzzleloader hunts. Crossbows may be used by a certified mobility-impaired hunter during any season. Sights on crossbows may not magnify targets or project light if used by a certified Mobility-Impaired Hunter for an archery-only hunt. Bolts must have broadheads with steel cutting edges. No drugs may be used on bolts. Bolts cannot be driven by explosives. Handicapped Hunter: An individual with a severe physical or developmental disability. To qualify, applicants must have one or more disabilities that substantially limit one or more major life activities. Mobility-Impaired Hunter: An individual with permanent impairment(s) and/or disabilities with substantial functional limitations. 4

Furbearer/Trapping: Date: November 20, 2017 March 20, 2018 Bag Limit: Unlimited Furbearers (Coyote, Bobcat, Fox) Method: Steel-jawed traps only, no snares or calling Weapon: Only.22 caliber rimfire may be carried while trapping Permits: 3 available first come, first serve Price: $250.00 plus 7% tax ($267.50) Non-Tribal Members Restrictions: 1. Trappers must provide vehicle license number and description. 2. Trappers must contact Acoma G&F if a Mountain Lion is caught. 3. Traps must be checked every 48 hours at a minimum. 4. There is a mandatory reporting requirement for all trappers with reports due the 1 st of each month that trapping is taking place. Complete records must be kept including; location of trap line(s), total number of traps set, total trap nights, and total number of animals trapped (by species). 5. All Bobcats must be presented to Acoma Game and Fish Enterprise no later than 30 days after harvest for CITES tagging. Only Acoma Game and Fish personnel are authorized to permanently tag Bobcat pelts harvested on Acoma Pueblo lands. 6. Non-Tribal Trappers are required to turn in the first three (3) fox and first bobcat caught on the reservation to Acoma Game and Fish to be used for ceremonial purposes. 7. Trapping areas will be assigned. 8. Traps must be permanently marked and registered with a trapper ID number. 9. Travel is restricted to established roads only. 10. Trappers must remove all evidence of trapping including trap flags before trapping is complete. 11. Acoma Valley is closed to trapping. 5

Predator Calling Contests Dates: November 11-12, 2017 and January 13-14, 2018 (Dates subjected to change or cancellation) Bag Limit: Unlimited Predators (Coyote, Bobcat, Fox) Method: Calling and Shooting Weapon: Shotgun or Centerfire Rifle.204 -.25 caliber Permits: 25 available first come, first serve. Price: $100.00 plus 7% tax total $107.00 per team (2 people per team maximum) Eligibility: Open to both Tribal Members and Non-Tribal members The team with the highest number of points at the end of the contest wins. Rules and Regulations 1. All Pueblo of Acoma hunting regulations and laws will be obeyed; any team suspected of suspicious activity will be disqualified from contest and future contest/hunting opportunities. 2. 25-team limit (All entries are on a first come, first served basis). 3. Contest is for Fox, Coyotes, and Bobcats and is based on a point system. Points will be awarded as follows: Fox = 1 point apiece Coyotes = 2 points apiece Bobcats = 4 points apiece. 4. The team with the highest number of points at the end of the contest wins. 5. Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place teams. (Prize amounts will be determined on the number of entries). 6. Permits will be issued by Acoma Game and Fish Enterprise Official s after mandatory orientation meeting. 7. All teams must have hunting permit in possession at all times. 8. Contest begins Saturday and ends Sunday. 9. Legal firearms:.204 -.25 caliber center-fire rifles, shotguns no smaller than 20 gauge - including semi-automatic weapons. 10. Hunters may use artificial/electronic/handheld calls/decoys; use of live animals or any type of bait is prohibited. 11. Hunters must hunt together at each setup. 12. ATV S/UTV S prohibited. 13. Video filming is prohibited. 14. Use of artificial lighting is prohibited. 15. No night hunting allowed. Hunt hours will be from ½ hour before sunrise to sunset on Saturday. Sunday hunt runs from ½ hour before sunrise to 3:00 PM. 16. Preliminary Check-in of animals will be conducted at Game and Fish Headquarters on Saturday @ 6:00 PM. The final check-in will be held on Sunday @ 3:00 PM. Hunters are required to check-in both days regardless of number of animals harvested. 17. The clock at Game and Fish Headquarters is the official clock. In the event of a tie the team who checks in first wins. 18. Teams must present entire carcass to officials at the Acoma Game and Fish Office located at the Acomita Lake. All carcasses will be inspected. 19. Bobcat and Fox carcasses will remain the property of the Pueblo of Acoma. 6

General Information All game, fish and other wildlife are protected on the Pueblo of Acoma and may not be taken, possessed or transported unless specifically permitted by Tribal regulations. The Pueblo of Acoma has jurisdiction over fishing, hunting and trapping activities within its jurisdictional boundaries. The authority for licensing such activities resides exclusively in the Pueblo of Acoma (Title 7 Game and Wildlife Code, 1995). The general regulations pertain to all big game hunting on Acoma lands. The regulations found within the proclamation are not all inclusive. Read the proclamation carefully before hunting or applying for any big game hunting permits. General Hunting Regulations 1. All hunters shall adhere to all Tribal, State and Federal rules and regulations. 2. All hunters under the age of 18 must have successfully completed a Hunters Safety Program in order to hunt big game. Proof of hunter education certification (CIN #) must be in your possession while hunting. 3. All hunters 14 years of age and older who have successfully completed a Hunter s Safety Program are eligible to apply for a license. 4. During all big game hunting seasons, non-tribal members cannot accompany tribal members in the field unless a trespass permit is obtained from the Acoma Land Office. 5. Hunters must tag game animal immediately after kill. 6. All game hunters must detach and fill out their game tag immediately upon harvesting an animal. The tag must be securely attached to the carcass prior to transportation. 7. Shooting hours for all hunting is ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset. 8. The Pueblo of Acoma reserves the right to refuse the sale or issuance of hunting/trespass permits to anyone. 9. There will be no extensions to any hunts or sale of additional permits. 10. For all hunts - only the person issued the permit is allowed to hunt. No exceptions. 11. All edible portions of game harvested must be transported to a place for human consumption, or provisions must be made to provide for human consumption. 12. All motor vehicles including ATV s will be restricted to travel on main roads. The only time you may take a vehicle off a main road is to retrieve legally taken and tagged big game carcasses. All motor vehicles must be licensed and insured. 13. Hunter orange is recommended for rifle hunters. 14. All applicants may be subject to a background check. If found convicted of any felonies or domestic violation acts, you will not receive a license. If Convicted: Forfeiture of future hunting opportunities with Acoma Big Game Hunts. Forfeiture of Equipment Upon Conviction, any equipment used to violate big-game regulation or laws may be forfeited to the Pueblo of Acoma. All confiscated items will be held for a minimum of (6) months from the date of seizure and will be forfeited to the Pueblo of Acoma. Pay fines and applicable damages. It is Unlawful: To take or attempt to take any game for another person or to use a permit issued to another. To shoot at, pursue, harass, or drive any game by use of or from a motor driven vehicle or aircraft. 7

To shoot at game on, from or across any graded or maintained road. To bring unlicensed person(s) onto the reservation without a trespass permit. To possess a firearm in or on any motor vehicle with live ammunition in the chamber. To possess any alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs. To litter on Acoma lands. To take or attempt to take any wildlife with the aid of any artificial light. To possess or transport big game or parts thereof without a proper carcass tag attached. Non-Tribal Members found in violation of Acoma law will be tried in Acoma Tribal Courts. The Pueblo of Acoma reserves the right to accept or deny any or all application(s). Wound Policy When an animal is wounded with any type of weapon, a 24-hour search is required by the guide and hunter. If guide and hunter are unable to locate and retrieve the animal and the hunter still wants to continue hunting, an additional fee of $3,000.00 will be imposed. The fee will allow the hunter to pursue another animal. If a second animal is wounded the hunt ends and hunter must search for the wounded animal for the remainder of hunt. Acoma Game and Fish Enterprise will notify the Acoma Ranger Department when an animal has been wounded. Hunt Survey Acoma Game and Fish Enterprise will mail out a survey at the conclusion of all hunts. It is mandatory to complete the Hunt Survey Questionnaire and return survey.
