Ancaster Avalanche Midget BB Coaching philosophy: My coaching philosophy is quite basic; I coach because it is my passion. I have coached rep hockey and soccer for the past seven years. I strive to create an environment that will encourage our girls to learn and develop on and off the ice. They will move forward and take the positives from winning and losing. I endeavour to mould a group of individuals to be responsible and accountable for themselves on and off the ice. They will respect themselves, their coaches, opponents, officials and fans. Each player will be given the opportunity to develop her skill in an organized, structured environment that constantly challenges the athletes with positive encouragement and support. Every player has their strengths and weaknesses, I as a coach will work on turning their weaknesses into strengths. In conclusion I want to teach these girls sportsmanship and how to have fun while also learn the game. My goal is to instill the idea that winning is not the reason we play.
