Chapter Director's Corner Here we are fast approaching June and getting ready for our first overnight ride. Yellowstone Park should be an awesome ride. Weather sounds very encouraging. As usual the Chapter had a very busy May. The Shrine BBQ and the Geranium Bake sale went off with no hitches. Both events were very well attended and a VERY BIG THANK YOU goes out to the entire Chapter for your hard work and support of both events. It gives a great deal of pride in our Chapter members to know that they are always willing to step up and do what needs to be done to accomplish our commitments to our chosen charities! The ride to the Natural Bridge was interrupted by rain so we turned around and skipped the bridge. The Thirsty Turtle was an awesome lunch! We traveled back by way of Harlowtown and actually beat the rain! A great trip for 6 bikes and one car! The 212 Diner was well attended by 20 or so members. Torres had 13 diners. The ride to Three Forks is gearing up. We are expecting riders from Chapter ID E to meet us there as well, so it should be a fun ride. Weather sounds fabulous! The Tongue River Ride is coming up. Get your boots ready. It could get a little slippery, as in the past! We have a Shell Canyon ride and Moonlight ride/to the Grizzly Bar this month. Those rides seem usually seem to be well attended. We also had District sponsored training this last month. I believe it all went well for those attending. The monthly gathering will be moving to the Elks Lodge for our June gathering. Supper will be starting at 6:00 PM. The Elks Lodge is at 934 Lewis Billings. As always ride safe. All the gear all the time! See you there. Congratulations. You've managed to hang onto the same old helmet without it ever touching the ground (at least with your head inside). This is an admirable feat no doubt but no matter how well you take care of it, if it is 5 years old or older you should consider replacing it. Overtime the materials that are used in making your helmet will start to degrade. Sweat and oils our bodies produce also take their toll on helmet materials over time also. Why take the chance? Consider getting a new one. Remember the time clock starts running the date of manufacture, date of manufacture is normally located inside the helmet. Saturday, June 4th, 2016. This is the first Saturday in June and we are going to be having our 2nd Annual ride to Three Forks, The Montana Rendezvous. On this ride we (Missoula Chapter MT-M) will be meeting up with the group from Billings which is Chapter MT-B and Great Falls which is Chapter MT-G. We did this last year and had a blast! It is just a great day to ride and have some fun with other chapters. We have declared this an Annual Ride for the State of Montana and we eat lunch in Three Forks at Wheat Montana. It is a one day ride unless you want to make it longer and ride someplace else before heading home. We are looking to a place to camp for the night, near Three Forks to extend our stay.
