319 MACHINERY & GOODS (+VAT) AUCTIONEER MARK BROMELL & JAMES MORRISH Top call to 25,000 for the McCormick tractor in from North Cornwall closely followed by the F reg John Deere 1850 sold by Charlie Prideaux of Bude and going to its new home in Somerset. The Renault tractor which came in from Whiddon Down in Mid Devon raced away to 4,400 and went off to Exmoor. A pleasing 8 tractors with only 3 unsold. Mike Jordan & Family of Beaworthy sold their slurry tanker well at 4,400 with Keith Bailey topping the mowers at 3,850 for his Claas 3100. The John Deere mower (SB2805) in from Blake Dairy Farm Ltd of Crediton hit 1,750 whilst the best of the fertilizer spinners raced to 800 for Messrs Mills of Petersmarland. Plenty of cattle & sheep feeders forward topped at 470 for a calf creep feeder for Erica Simpson of Withiel in mid Cornwall and the best of the dung spreaders came in from Steve Furse & Family of Ashwater to make 750. Kivells of Holsworthy were delighted to conduct the clearance sale (undercover) for Bott Ltd of Bude. Their line up of vents, shelving, cabinets and roller shutter cabinets attracted many new buyers who had never been to Holsworthy before! Top call of the clearance was 90 given for the best of the roller shutter cabinets with the best Verso cupboard at 80 and blue grip matting to 70. Kivells were also pleased to conduct the clearance sale for Tamar Trading selling their best commercial slate slabs to 45, concrete slabs to 38 and baths to 36.
417 MACHINERY & GOODS (NON VAT) AUCTIONEER DAVID C KIVELL Despite the change of sale day due to the snow last week, a useful crowd of buyers bid well throughout the sale. Top call on the day was 1,700 given for the Loader shovel in from AG Pridham of Lawhitton and going off to its new home near Saltash. Messrs Johns made the long trip down from South Bristol to sell his car trailer at 600 whilst Cecile Stacey sold the best of a wonderful line up of granite to top at 580 with other pieces at 370. The best of 11 cars & vans topped at 550 for the 2005 Vauxhall Astra for Messrs Gardiner of Torrington whilst the 2003 Freelander hit 440 for Tredown Ltd of Holsworthy. A big entry of 2 nd hand small tools topped at 90 for a Stihl power saw with plenty of other useful lots between 70-85. Lightweights topped at 64 for a pen of 9 Saddlebacks (51kg) in from R&J Philpott of Bude. Several very young weaner pigs topped at 32 with others from Ed Bailey at 16. The same good vendor also sold Marbled Teals to 52 and Blonde Manderins to 46. Messrs Tucker of Weare Gifford topped their nice run at 50 whilst Messrs M&J Stacey of Torpoint topped at 40 for a trio of Red Silkies. The best of the poultry equipment hit 26 with plenty between 20-24. 131 GOATS & SHEEP AUCTIONEER JAMES MORRISH Kivells were delighted to receive a good entry of goats & sheep which sold to a useful trade. 1 st up was the dispersal of Manx Longton sheep from Fiona Huntington-Whiteley of Dartmoor who sold her small flock of ewes which topped at 38 going to their new home in Dorset. A run of white & coloured goats sold to a smart trade with the vast majority ranging from 52-60. Best of the youngstock hit 32 with others at 30.
