1:00pm Category 5 30 Minutes 30 minutes of racing for the Cat 5 beginner racers. These riders for the most part have only been racing one or two years. They stayed together as a pack for the race. A final lap crash took out several riders, with Nolan Gottlieb suffering a hard hit to his chin. Several riders told me he was riding well, pushing the pace but got caught behind a crash. Nolan was the only racer today wearing short sleeves and shorts. Everyone else was covered in leggings, arm warmers, jackets, tights. Ben Stengel won the field sprint. We hope Nolan has a quick and full recovery.
