Georgia Chargers Player Expectations SECTION I PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT I agree to conduct myself in a professional manner on and off the field at all times. I agree to abide by all team and league rules and understand that if I violate any rule regarding conduct or violence I will be immediately expelled from the Georgia Chargers Organization as well as the SCDFL which houses the Georgia Chargers. Depending on the severity of the offense, legal action may be taken against me from both the SCDFL and the Georgia Chargers Organization for physical violence upon a living being, theft of property or property damage caused by me under the Law of the state in which the incident occurred. I understand that Minor League/Semi Professional Football teams require players to pay a participation fee which varies from team to team based on that organizations financial need. As a member of the Georgia Chargers Organization, I agree to pay my fee before the Georgia Chargers designated deadline date of May 18, 2014. I understand that I need to have all of my team fees paid in full prior to the start of the SCDFL regular season and understand my failure to pay said fees before the deadline will result in my deactivation from the team as well as league participation, practice and games until my fees are paid in full. I understand that as a requirement, I must have active participation in fund raising efforts and community events sponsored by the Georgia Chargers Organization and/or the SCDFL Failure to take an active role in participation of team and league events will result in your suspension from the Georgia Chargers Organization, until such requirement are met. I understand that by signing this agreement; Georgia Chargers Organization own my rights to play in the SCDFL from the actual date of form submission through December 1, 2014; at which time I may not play for any team(s) or league(s) within a 150 mile radius without consent and written release from the Georgia Chargers Organization and the SCDFL Commissioner. I fully understand that I will only be allowed to transfer from my current team to another team in the SCDFL via unconditional release. Unconditional releases may happen at any time however they fall under the free agency signing period. Below is a list of the expectations for the players, coaching staff, and others who are associated with the Georgia Chargers Organization. Please note that this list is not inclusive of all
inappropriate conduct. Any individual may be disciplined for other conduct that is deemed inappropriate or detrimental to the Georgia Chargers Organization. 1. GENERAL CONDUCT: Refrain from conduct that will embarrass the Georgia Chargers Organization, fellow team members, or oneself including the use of illegal drugs or substances. Note that illegal substances include alcohol for individuals under the age of 21 and marijuana. The use of the aforementioned substances prior to a game, practice, or event will result in an automatic ban from the Georgia Chargers Organization. 2. RESPECT FOR FELLOW TEAM MEMBERS: Exhibit respect for fellow teammates, coaching staff, fans, and sponsors. Excessive arguing and foul language will not be tolerated and will be grounds for immediate action including suspension from the Georgia Chargers Organization. 3. RESPECT OF PROPERTY: Demonstrate respect for team equipment, facilities, and grounds where other teams utilize. Vandalizing property or theft of property will result in your removal from the Georgia Chargers Organization and legal action to be taken against you in the state in which the incident occurred. 4. SIDELINE BEHAVIOR: Refrain from any unacceptable behavior on the sidelines, including any action that will embarrass or prevent a sponsor from working with your current organization. This includes excessive profanity, excessive yelling and the removal of equipment during a game. This also includes fraternizing with the fans. Players will not conduct conversations in a negative manner with fans during or after the game, this will also include: pregame warm ups, introductions, during the game and half-time. Players may never invite family for friends to sit and converse on the sideline during a game. Finally, players may not go beyond the 30-yardline at any time during a game. Every player must respect the officials request to stand behind the designated area. Any player or team found to be in violation of this rule will be suspended from the Georgia Chargers Organization. 5. ATTENDANCE: Maintain prompt and regular attendance at all practices, games, and team events. In the event, you will be late or absent it is your responsibility to notify your coach as soon as possible prior to the start of the practice, game, or event. Players will also be responsible for making sure they obtain any information or assignments that they have missed. If you have a preexisting engagement that will prevent timely arrival at team practices, games, and events you must notify team ownership. If you are late to a game without notifying someone and still wish to play, you will be required to pay $10 at the next practice. If you fail to pay, you will
not play until those fees are paid. Absences or excessive late arrivals will result in disciplinary action up to removal from the Georgia Chargers Organization. The chain of command is as follows: Position coach Coordinator Head Coach Director of Player Personnel Owner 6. PARTICIPATION FEES: Team Fees are to be paid in full before you are to play in any preseason or regular season game. If your team fees are not paid before this time, you will not be allowed to continue participation with the Georgia Chargers Organization until your fees are paid in full. 7. TEAM UNIFORMS: Uniforms provided to you are your property. Uniforms must be clean at every game. If you not in proper uniform you will not play. All players must be in complete matching uniform in order to participate in games. 8. FIREARMS: Most of the games in the South Coast Developmental Football League will be played at a High School, College or Public facility; therefore firearms are never permitted in or around any organization. Anyone caught branding a firearm will be immediately banned from the Georgia Chargers Organization and possible legal action will be taken against you. 9. PROFANITY AND RACISM: Players will be forbidden from cursing and using the N word or any other racial remark where other teammates, fans and fans of an opposing team will accuse the organization of having negative behavior. Racism will NOT be tolerated with the Georgia Chargers Organization and any player, owner or coach that is found to be in violation will be suspended indefinitely from the Georgia Chargers Organization. 10. ARGUING WITH AN OFFICIAL: At no point before, during or after the game is a player to approach an official in a negative or threatening manner. Only the Head coach or designated player(s) ie, team captain(s) are allowed to address the officials during the game. Any player that addresses an official that is not designated prior to the game or any player that addresses an official in a threating manner will be subject to disciplinary action including but not limited to suspension or removal from the Georgia Chargers Organization
11. IF A FIGHT HAPPENS: ALL Players WILL remain on the sidelines until order is restored. If anyone steps on the field or if a player(s) decides to participate in the fight or attempts to do bodily harm while breaking up a fight he will be banned from the Georgia Chargers Organization in accordance with the South Coast Developmental Football League policy on violence. 12. FRATERNIZING WITH FANS AFTER A FIGHT: Players will not conduct conversations in a negative manner with fans during or after a fight. Players are to remain focused on the game. Any player caught fraternizing with a fan during or after a fight will be disciplined in accordance to South Coast Developmental Football League code of conduct. The Georgia Chargers Organization expects reasonable and appropriate behavior from all of its members including but not limited to the players, owners and coaches who partake in the Georgia Chargers Organization. By establishing this Code of Conduct we will ensure excellence and respect for the organization s that are members of the Georgia Chargers Organization and the fans that come out to support them. The Georgia Chargers Organization will take a zero tolerance stance with individuals who violate the Team s or League s Code of Conduct and those exhibiting criminal behavior. The Georgia Chargers Organization reserves the right to discipline, suspend, or release any player or any coach who violates the Code of Conduct or exhibits actions that are deemed inappropriate, life threatening, or detrimental to the Georgia Chargers Organization. Any disciplinary action taken is final upon investigation by the Georgia Chargers Organization s Owner and Director of Player Personnel and will not be changed. Input will be welcomed by other Georgia Chargers Organization members, but final decision will be made by Georgia Chargers Organization Owner and Director of Player Personnel. Violation of the Code of Conduct includes, but is not limited to, the use of vulgar language, disorderly conduct, violence, threats of violence or any other act that interferes with the orderly operation of the Georgia Chargers Organization. SECTION II - INJURY WAIVER In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Georgia Chargers Organization, related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that: I. The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and, II.I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and, III.I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and, IV.I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS The Georgia Chargers Organization officers, officials, agents, and/or employees,
other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and leaser of premises used to conduct the event ( RELEASES ), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law. If I get injured to the point where I am incoherent or unconscious and have to be transported to an off-site medical facility; I hereby grant my consent to be transported to a local medical facility (Emergency Room) where I can be medically treated by a licensed physician. SECTION III - PARTICIPATION FEE AGREEMENT The Georgia Chargers Organization requires players to pay a participation (team) fee. This fee is $200 the finances are used to assist with the day to day operations of the organization. The Georgia Chargers Organization will purchase uniforms, pay for field usage, game officials or other tools to help run the organization. By submitting your information you understand that you will be required and agree to pay it in full while a member of the Georgia Chargers Organization.
