[ACT 050] Manual E 4/4/06 4:34 PM Page 6 POWER SOURCE Both the air compressor and air inflator can be powered by both the Ni-Cd rechargeable battery and the 12V cigarette lighter adapter. RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES The Inflation Station comes with two 9.6V 1,000 mah Ni-Cd rechargeable battery. The battery can be charged either on the charger station, or from the AC charger port on the battery. CHARGING BATTERY ON THE CHARGER STATION Before initial use, place one of the batteries on the charger station for an initial charge time of 15 to 18 hours. Repeat charging times are approximately 20-22 hours, if batteries are depleted. Warning! Failure to fully charge the battery will result in shorter life, compromised performance and will void battery warranty. To keep the battery fully charged at all times, place charged at all times, place the battery on the charger station whenever they are not in use. The charger station red LED indicator will be ON once the battery has been properly on the station. The charger station will control battery charging to ensure optimal battery charge. We recommend that if the inflation station is not going to be used for an extended period of time (i.e. 4 months or more), the unit should be unplugged and stored indoors. When the inflation station is removed from storage, please re-charge for 20 to 22 hours before use. CHARGING FROM THE AC CHARGER PORT ON THE BATTERY Remove the battery from the air compressor/inflator by gripping the end of the battery and pulling it out. The same AC charger can be used to charge the battery directly by connecting the AC charger to AC charger port on the battery and plugging the AC charger to an 110V-120V power source. The red LED indicator will be ON when the battery is charging. When charging directly from the AC charger port on the battery, the charging time must not exceed 24 hours. Repeat charging times are approximately 18-20 hours, if the battery is depleted. STEP 1 STEP 2 AC Charger Port 5

[ACT 050] Manual E 4/4/06 4:34 PM Page 7 TYPICAL RUN-TIME* DEVICE Air Compressor Air Inflator * REMARK: TYPICAL RUN-TIME* 10-15 minutes 15-20 minutes 1. Typical run-time will vary depending on the battery level, pressure load during use, and the operating conditions. 2. High-pressure loading, or excessive back pressure will result in a shorter run-time than indicated above. 3. Cold temperature conditions will reduce battery run-time. We recommend using the 12V cigarette lighter adapter pack during cold temperature operating conditions. 12V CIGARETTE LIGHTER ADAPTER PACK Switching between the battery and 12V cigarette lighter adapter pack Roll out the 12V cord before use. Remove the battery from the air compressor/inflator by gripping the end of the battery and pulling it out. Slide the 12V adapter pack into the air compressor/inflator until clicks into place. Make sure that the cord runs through the small hole at the base of the cable pack. Connect the 12V car cigarette lighter adapter to the cigarette lighter socket in your car. When the operating period per charge is significantly reduced, it indicates the battery is worn-out and should be replaced. To order a replacement battery, please visit us at www.activeproducts.com www.activeproducts.com 6

CAUTION Do not run the air compressor continuously for more than 15 minutes. After each 15 minutes, allow it to cool for a minimum of 15 minutes. Do not leave the air compressor unattended while in operation. Keep out of reach of children. Do not exceed maximum pressure of 150 psi. The pressure gauge will provide an estimated reading only. Please use a digital pressure gauge for more accuracy pressure information. 7

[ACT 050] Manual E 4/4/06 4:34 PM Page 9 HIGH-VOLUME AIR INFLATOR Inflation outlet Large adapter Inflatable connector Medium adapter Deflation outlet Small adapter The Air Inflator is designed for quick and easy inflation and deflation of high air volume objects such as air mattresses, rafts, inflatable toys and pool toys. BEFORE INFLATING Choose the appropriate inflatable adapter. There are four inflatable adapters provided for high-volume inflation/deflation. The small and medium adapters must be used with the inflatable connector provided. The inflatable connector and large adapter can be directly attached to the inflation air outlet. INFLATING PROCEDURE 1. Insert the appropriate inflatable adapter into inflation outlet. 2. Insert adapter into the air valve of the object to be inflated. 3. Press the trigger once for continuous inflation. 4. Operate the air inflator until the desired firmness is reached. 5. Pressure the trigger twice to stop inflation. 6. Remove adapter from the inflated object valve and close the valve cap. DEFLATING PROCEDURE 1. Insert the inflatable adapter into deflation outlet. 2. Insert adapter into the valve of the object to be deflated. 3. Press the trigger once for continuous deflation. 4. Operate the air inflator until desired deflation is reached. 5. Pressure the trigger twice to stop deflation. 6. Remove adapter from the deflated object valve. Note: Make sure the stop valve or resisted valve is opened, before inflation or deflation. INFLATION TIPS FOR LARGE OBJECTS: The performance of an air inflator depends on air flow rate, size of adapter and the valve of the inflatable object. The smaller the valve and/ or adapter used, the lower the air flow rate. Therefore, always buy inflatable objects with the largest possible valves. Typically, air mattresses or large inflatable objects may have two sizes of air valve, always inflate from the largest valve to get maximum performance. CAUTION Do not run the air inflator for continuously for more than 15 minutes. After each 15 minutes, allow it to cool for a minimum of 15 minutes. Do not leave the air inflator unattended while in operation. Keep out of reach of children. Make sure the stop valve or resisted valve is opened, before inflation or deflation. www.activeproducts.com 8
