150 Palmer Johnson Grey Matters Crew Profiles Languages onboard - Fluent English, French, Spanish & Aussie Captain: Peter Cook Age: 45 Nationality: Australian Languages: English / Aussie Peter has been in the boating industry since birth. Peter is a Boat builder by trade obtaining his qualifications building Superyachts at Lloyds Ships, he is a competitive yachtsman having competed in world, national and state championships in a variety of yachts, as well as competing in some of the world s toughest races including 9 Sydney to Hobart s. Peter loves any challenge and adventure he also has a keen interest in car racing competing over the years in Targa Tasmania Tarmac rallies and the famous Bathurst motor race in Australia. Peter has been a superyacht captain for 20 years and has captained a variety of superyachts including large expedition helicopter equipped yachts in the Mediterranean, USA, Pacific and Australia. Peter s personality is infectious with a happy fun Aussie attitude. Having Captained vessels in the Pacific for the past few years Peter has now returned on Grey Matters to the Med leading his crew of highly professional fun crew. 1 st Mate: Paul Jean-Charles Age: 41 Nationality: Trinidad/Tobago Languages: English / Caribbean Paul has joined Grey Matters as 1 st Mate bringing with him a vast knowledge of the sea and especially the Caribbean. Paul has lived life close to the sea, starting sailing and fishing at a young age growing up in Trinidad a beautiful lush Caribbean Island. He has always enjoyed diving and all water related activities. Paul attended college and found an interest in mechanical engineering and became involved with building engines and classic cars. Following this Paul moved to a life on the sea and has joined Grey Matters to further his passion on the water. Paul has a very good eye for details and will always be around to answer any questions.
Chief Stewardess: Laurence Caillard Age: 45 Nationality: Australian/French Languages: English / French / Spanish Laurence grew up in the Pacific on the island of New Caledonia, in later years Laurence has lived in France, Tahiti, Japan, New Zealand as well as Australia. She is very well travelled and fluent in French, Spanish, English and a little Japanese. Laurence has been involved in the yachting industry for the past 8 years. Laurence entered the yachting industry after a very successful 10 years running her own French patisserie in Australia. The lure of Adventure drew Laurence to join her first superyacht and cruised the Pacific waters and all of Australia. Laurence runs the interior to an extremely high standard and has a bright personality. Working closely with Captain Pete to ensure everything runs smoothly. Stewardess: Marieke Muggleton Age: 27 Nationality: Australian Languages: English / Aussie Marieke grew up by the sea in Sydney, Australia. She was introduced to the superyacht industry by a family friend and she has never looked back. She enjoys hard work, has a passion for what she does best which is ensuring that every guest is looked after to the highest standard. She is ambitious, driven and focused and will no doubt never fail to amaze us. Last but not least, look out for Marieke s permanent genuine smile!! Stewardess: Amy-Lee Walton Age: 22 Nationality: South African Languages: English / Africaans Amy-Lee is a 22 year old South African who graduated with a degree in Corporate Communications and a diploma in photography. Although she grew up in the concrete jungle Johannesburg, she has a vast love for the ocean, adventure, culture and travel. Amy-Lee is serving her second season in the yachting industry and is thoroughly enjoying each experience she is encountering. Amy-Lee has a positive perspective on life, and is always eager to lend a helping hand along with a smile. Chef: Benoit Calvino Age: 31 Nationality: French Languages: French / English / Spanish Our professionally trained Chef Benoit is Enthusiastic and passionate, Benoit has a broad culinary knowledge and skill base to cater for every taste and requirements.benoit will thrive at exceeding your culinary expectations. With over 15 years experience in the hospitality industry including 4 years in Michelin Star restaurants and 5 years as private Chef in the superyacht industry, he will have something special to temptalize even the most discerning palate.
Chief Engineer: Steve Willimott Age: 26 Nationality: New Zealand Languages: English / Kiwi Having experienced a wide variety of both sail and motor yachts, Steve was keen to embark on a new adventure on M/Y Grey Matters. Originally employed as our assistant engineer, Steve was quick to demonstrate his skills and knowledge which earned him the position of Chief Engineer on board this season. Steve is a dedicated young man with a positive attitude. As a reliable and well rounded crew member, Steve will cater for your every needs on engineering on deck and beyond. Deck Engineer : Julian Stoyles Age: 29 Nationality: Australian Languages: English / Aussie Julian grew up on the shores of South East Queensland in Australia, being immersed in an active outdoor environment Julian always enjoyed the ocean and everything it has to offer. Joining Grey Matters Julian brings with him a wealth of experience with watersports. He will always be on deck and around to help out when needed with a very positive and enthusiastic attitude. Julian has a very large infectious personality. Jules as we know him has quite an Australian attitude, lots of fun and a easy going nature... Cheers Captain Pete & Crew
