Larthrop R-II School District Mule Report August Edition Dear Patrons, I hope your summer has been fantastic. We have a great deal of exciting changes going on at Lathrop R-II School District, and look forward to continuing to have some of the best facilities in Northwest Missouri. I encourage everyone to continue to visit our district website for updated schedules and our activities calendar for changes through out the year. It is a personal goal to keep the patrons of our district as informed as possible on the news and resources associated with athletics and activities in our district. In that effort the athletic/activities department will be releasing monthly newsletter to cover such information. The Mule report will be a monthly email/text caster generated to share current news regarding Mule activities. ACTIVITY PASSES: Season activity passes are on sale for students-$30, adults-$40 and family-$110. You may purchase them at any school or district office. FOOTBALL The Lathrop football team will be lead by our new head football coach, Chris Holt. Chris has been been coaching for 19 years and has accumulated 96 wins as a head football coach that includes a State Championship. We hope to celebrate his 100 th victory as head coach during the 2015 season. The Lathrop R-II school district is proud to present the new district athletic complex, that includes an turf football field, 8 lane all-weather track,turf baseball field and softball field, and a new multi-purpose building. We will celebrate the grand opening of our football field on Friday 8/21/15 when we open up with the visting team from Van Horn High School. The Lathrop Mules will be returning several key players from last season to lead our team to victory. Dawson Beane, Hunter Dalinghaus, Hunter Darr, Lucas Douglas, Isaac Groves, Theo Haahr, Cody Hart, James Knifong, Dakota May, David Moore, Connor Vanderkooi, and several younger players that will contribute to the success of this team. Lathrop went 2-8 last season and was 6 th in the conference. CROSS COUNTRY The Lathrop country team will be lead by our coach Steve Vonderfecht. The team will be returning several State qualifiers: Justin Gannon, Connor Gilzean, Brittney Addison, Danielle Dohrn, Allie Mcentee, and Echo Oliphant. We are looking forward to a great year and it all starts on 9/5/15 in Liberty with our first meet.

SOFTBALL The Lady Mules softball team is lead by our second year head coach, Joe Dutcher. Coach Dutcher s team had a great season last year finishing 11-11 and finishing 5 th in the confernce and 2 nd in district tournament. The team returns several key players from last year: Maressa Fine, Allie Rooks, and Maddy Mann all received top conference, district and regional honors and we expect great things this year. Arizona Gallagher, Jacque Gentzell, Annika Huitt, Taylor Jennings, Madison Schnatz, Mckenzie Shanks, and several yonger players will be a huge contribution to the success of this years team. The Lady Mules will start their season with a home game on our brand new softball field on 8/24/15 against Notre Dame de Sion. VOLLEYBALL The Lady Mules volleyball team will be lead by our second year head coach, Rachel Stagg. Coach Stagg s team finished 6-18-4 in the 2014 season and finished up 6 th in the conference with a 2-5 record. Several key players are returning for the 2015 season: Deidra Sellers an all-conference player, Seniors-Danielle Dohrn, Sydney doyle, Audra Gustin, Hannah Hartzell, Madalyn Macomber, and Amanda Radar. Juniors: Haylie Arthur, Emily Cordray, Mikayla Davis, Ashlynn Gaskins, Ciara Jones, Holly Kennedy, Natalie McDowell, Alex VanVelzer and Destiny Walters will be leading the Lady Mules to a great 2015 season. The Lady Mules volleyball season will start the season on the road at St. Joe Lafayette on 8/25/15. CHEERLEADING The 2015 Lathrop cheerleading squad will be lead by coach Laura Fine. Cheer tryouts were held this Spring and the new members are: Seniors: Maressa Fine, Dallas Plowman, Mandy Rader, and McKensie Shanks. Juniors: Holly Kennedy, Deidra Sellers. Sophomores: Ellie Albertson, Brenda Blodgett, Emilee Bradley, Hannah Jennings, and Lauren Kush. Freshmen: Kinzie Cantrell, Jessalyn Holliway, Taylor Partain, Aaliyah Paul, and Jillian Southern. We would like to congratulate the cheer squad for placing 2 nd at the Missouri Cheer Association Regional Cheer Competition this summer!! DANCE TEAM The 2015 Lathrop dance team is lead by our head coach, Rachel Stagg. Dance tryouts were held this spring and the new dance squad members are: Seniors: Maressa Fine, Amanda Rader.

Breanna Saur, Makenzie Shanks, Danielle Dohrn. Juniors: Ashlynn Gaskins, Alex VanVelzer, Anna Chaney, Haylie Arthur, Katie Haase, Ciara Jones. Sophomores: Maggie Beckett, Brittany Addison, Megan Drannan. Freshmen: Mackinzie Cantrell, Jessalynn Holliway. Manager: Jillian VanVelzer LATHROP MARCHING PRIDE BAND The 2015 Lathrop marching pride band is lead by coach, Jocatherine Rogers. The members of the band include: Eleanor Albertson, Hannah Ballard, Emilee Bradley, Colby Branstietter, Justin Burns, Noah Cassity, Samuel Cassity, Cheyenne Cochran, Sarah Delaware, Alex Ferril, Aubrey Ferril, Amanda Filley, Andre Gonzalez, Audra Gustin, Brandon Hallock, Hannah Hartzell, Michael Hascall, Treinton Head, Dana Henry, Britton Holsted, Evelynn Holtzclaw, Abby Howard, Natasha Howard, Olivia Huett, Taylor Jennings, Taylor Lucas, Madalyn Macomber, Jesse Marshall, Alyssa Martin, Alex May, Jonas May, Jessalynn Holliway, Echo Oliphant, Kelly Oliphant, Maleah Overman, Zachary Painter, Ethan Pierson, Emily Porter, Paige Reeves, Scott Sims, Kaitlyn Skinner, Jillian Southern, Alexis Stottlemire, Melanie Towne, Aidan Turner, Emma Turner, Jacob Vanderpool, Caleb Vanhorn, and Emily Vanhorn. I wanted to share with you some of the progress we have made this summer getting ready for our first home football game on 8/21/15 and our first home softball game on 8/24/15. Fans will be allowed FREE into the first home football game as an appreciation for your support in our new athletic complex. 1 st 200 fans will get a free Mule construction hat!!
