Let s have some fun! In 2018, we have a great slate of hunting, fishing and outdoor classes. Coordinated by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, we at the Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) program are committed to delivering high quality outdoor skills programming with the help of volunteers and collaborating organizations. It s a fun and easy way for you to learn and build skills in a safe and supportive environment. You have options with BOW. Our fall and winter workshops are designed to introduce you to a breadth of experiences during a single weekend. Our individual skill courses are designed for those who seek a greater depth of knowledge. We also offer family programs that foster relationships and skill building so that young and old alike can have a great time in the outdoors. So, select an option that works for you. The BOW program has grown thanks to our excellent volunteer instructors, and people like you people who want to learn more so they can explore more of what Minnesota has to offer. Beyond BOW Classes for Women Beyond BOW classes are designed for women who want to learn a specific skill related to hunting, fishing and nonconsumptive sports. Most classes are located close to the metro, are low cost or free, and last just a few hours. Classes range from beginner through intermediate level and are designed for women ages 18 and older and girls ages 14-17 with a guardian. A Minnesota fishing license and equipment are not required for Learn to Fish classes, except where noted. Family Events 2018 BOW works cooperatively with volunteers, the Minnesota DNR, Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center and Three Rivers Parks to offer family skill classes and family weekends. Becoming an Outdoors Family programs are open to men, women and children who want to learn outdoor skills as a family unit. Come as a family or attend alone! All types of families are welcome: dads, moms, grandparents, aunts, uncles and scout troops. Family events are very popular and are a great way to unplug from your home, and reconnect with each other as well as the great outdoors. Outdoors Family Weekends Reconnect with family members in the great outdoors this year! Class options include: rock climbing, archery, family geocaching, fishing, rifle range, high ropes course, canoeing, and more! Lodging, meals, instruction and equipment are provided for one low price.
