SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES SAFETY DATA SHEET EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical or foam Pressurised container may rupture when exposed to heat. Cool aerosol containers with water spray. Use of large quantities of water may cause fire to spread. Selfcontained breathing apparatus should be worn. May produce fumes of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide on burning. SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: CLEAN-UP PROCEDURE: DISPOSAL: SECTION 6 NOTES: Wear impervious gloves/overalls/footwear, eye protection and a vapour absorbing face mask when cleaning up spillage. Remove ignition sources from the area. Vapour is denser than air and may flow to a distant ignition source. Contain spillage, preventing entry into drains and waterways. Use a mop for small spills ( 5 litres) and sand/kieselguhr or other inert material to absorb larger spills. Place in plastic barrel for disposal. Do not mix with other waste. Dispose of waste in accordance with local regulations. Seek guidance from McBride Caribbean Ltd if necessary. Failure to contain a spill must be communicated to both the relevant local authority and McBride Caribbean Ltd. SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE HANDLING: Keep away from heat/sparks/open flame/hot surfaces. No smoking. Wash hands after use. STORAGE: Protect from sunlight. Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50 o C. Do not store near food or animal feed. Do not store near oxidizing agents as this could aggravate a fire situation. Leave area for at least 10 minutes following treatment. Use in well ventilated areas. Not required under normal use conditions. Vapour absorbing face mask required in the event of large scale release. Not required under normal use conditions. Chemical safety goggles are recommended if splashes are likely. Individuals should be trained in the effective use and maintenance of the equipment. This product is an insecticide and is therefore subject to pesticide regulations and labelling standards. While some countries have adopted the GHS, their pesticide labelling requirements differ from the GHS classification criteria and hazard information required for safety data sheets. In such instances labelling standards take precedence over the GHS.
