HORSES Exhibitors are asked to ensure that all grooms entering the Judging Rings are neatly dressed, wearing jackets and hat or headscarf. Please note that the use of mobile phones is prohibited in any ring at all times. Rosettes will be awarded 1 st - 6 th place in all classes. Prize cards will be awarded 1 st - 4 th place in all classes. Mares must have foal at foot or a relevant certificate of pregnancy for the following year which may be inspected at the show. Mares which have not yet foaled or that have lost their foals are eligible to enter with a relevant certificate of pregnancy for the following year which may be inspected at the show. Class 2 HUNTER FOAL foaled in 2017. Foals to be at least three weeks old on the day of the Show. See pg 17 of 2017 SHB(GB) members book section 16b. YOUNG HUNTER CHAMPION Champion 50, Reserve Champion 25 THE AGELASTO CUP (37) will be awarded to the Champion Young Hunter from Classes 3-5. The Champion Hunter Mare and Champion Young Hunter will go forward to the Overall Hunter Breeding Championship. Only the Overall Champion will qualify to compete in the Cuddy Supreme In-Hand Championship Qualifying Competition for details see page 24. SPECIAL AWARDS H1 THE BROOD MARE PREMIUM AWARD. Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain offers one premium in Class 1. The premium will take the form of a service voucher valued at 100.00 to be used for the service of the mare by any graded or life approved stallion in 2018 or 2019. The premium will be awarded at the Judge s discretion to his selection from the prize winners. The winning mare must already be registered with SHB (GB) and the owner must be or become a fully paid up member. Only one award per year can be accepted. Premiums will only be awarded if there are a minimum of three mares forward. NOTE: Special Award H.1 will be judged before the Hunter Breeding Championships. Entries for H.1 should be made to the steward during respective class judging. OVERALL HUNTER BREEDING CHAMPIONSHIP To follow Hunter Breeding Championships in Main Ring Champion Rosette The Overall Hunter Breeding Champion will qualify to compete in the Cuddy Supreme In-Hand Championship Qualifying Competition for details see page 24. IN-HAND COMPETITION HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP Champion 25, Reserve Champion 15 THE HILARY KITCHENER PERPETUAL MEMORIAL TROPHY (94) will be awarded to the Champion In- Hand Sport Horse, classes 6-10. The In-Hand Competition Horse Champion qualifies to compete in the Cuddy Supreme In-Hand Championship Qualifying Competition for details see page 24. RIDDEN SPORT HORSE Judge: Mrs J Butt, Northamptonshire To follow Class 43 in Ring 2 ENTRY FEE: Non-Members 19.00 - Members 14.00 NOTE: This class is a qualifier for the Blue Chip Flat Ridden Sport Horse Championship. Horses to be shown on the flat, will not be required to jump. Snaffle bridles must be worn. Note. Horses have to be registered with SHB(GB). Horses will not be ridden by the judge but will be required to give a short individual show of walk, trot & canter of approximately 1 minute, to be awarded marks out of a possible 20 for each pace. Lengthened strides in trot and canter must be shown. All horses are required for a conformation assessment to be awarded marks out of a possible 50. In relation to headwear - Competitors must wear a skull cap or hat and safety harness according to the current approved BSI or European Standard at all times. Skull caps must have a navy blue or black cover. ANY COMPETITOR NOT ADHEREING TO THIS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE RING/CLASS. Class 11 BLUE CHIP FOUR, FIVE & SIX YEAR-OLD FLAT RIDDEN SPORT HORSE. Horses to be shown on the flat, wil not be required to jump. Snaffle bridles must be worn. Note. Horses have to be registered with SHB(GB). Owners & Riders have to be SHB(GB) Members. Horses will not be ridden by the judge but will be required to give a short individual show of walk, trot & canter of approximately 1 minute, to be awarded marks out of a possible 20 for each pace. Vouchers: 1 st 30, 2 nd 10, 3 rd 10, 4 th 10, 5 th 10 6 th 10 Rosettes to 6 th place, to be provided by show. A Blue Chip Cap & Qualifying rosette will be awarded to every competitor who qualifies. A horse may only qualify once and if already qualified the qualification will pass down the line. - the best 4yro, 5yro & the best 6yro, enabling 3 horses to qualify for the finals per qualifying class. In the event that there are no horses from a particular age group, the qualification will pass down the line. RIDDEN HUNTER WEIGHT Catplant Group of Companies Ltd Show Hunter of the Year Horse of the Year Show Qualifier 2017 Judges: Ms J Bradbury, Eire (Ride); Mr R Mills, Essex (Conformation) 8:00am in Main Ring ENTRY FEE: Non-Members 31.00 - Members 26.00 Please ensure that for each entry for a Horse of the Year Show Qualifier a separate completed Horse of the Year Show form must be returned with your Bucks County Show entry form. The entry fee includes a 12.00 Horse of the Year Show contribution which is non-refundable under any circumstances 6

NOTE: Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association, however Horse of the Year Show rules will take precedence. Horses must be registered with the British Show Horse Association and all Owners, Producers and Riders must be British Show Horse Association Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form. These classes are for hunters, mares or geldings, 4 years old or over, to be ridden. Entries in this class may not compete in the Small Show Hunter of the Year, and vice versa. This class will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. These classes are qualifying classes for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 4th - 8th October 2017. Qualification will not pass below 3 rd place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. Competitors must enter their horses in the appropriate sections, section A (Class 12) will be judged first, and the judges shall have the power to transfer exhibits if they deem it necessary. Classes 12-14 are qualifiers for the Ponies (UK) Whittakers Lord Open Final. Open to open Hunter, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over, exceeding 148cms. Rider any age. The 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd placed competitors will qualify for the 2018 P(UK) Winter Classic. No membership is required to enter or compete in any Championship Final. Class 12 Class 13 Class 14 LIGHTWEIGHT SHOW HUNTER Mare or Gelding, four years old or over, capable of carrying up to 12 stone 7lbs. Horse of the Year Show Qualifier. MIDDLEWEIGHT SHOW HUNTER Mare or Gelding, four years old or over, capable of carrying over 12 stone 7lbs and not exceeding 14 stone. Horse of the Year Show Qualifier. HEAVYWEIGHT SHOW HUNTER Mare or Gelding, four years old or over, capable of carrying over 14 stone. Horse of the Year Show Qualifier. Prizes: 1st 32, 2nd 25, 3rd 15, 4th 12, 5th 8 RIDDEN HUNTER WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Champion 75, Reserve Champion 50 THE BARRATT CUP (7) presented by the late Major S.G.R. ELTON-BARRATT will be awarded to the Champion Hunter from Classes 12-14. SPECIAL AWARDS H2 H3 H4 THE BARONET TROPHY (97) will be presented in memory of Mr A Roberts and family to the Best Local Hunter whose owner resides in Beds, Bucks, Oxon or Herts. GROOM S AWARDS by the BRAZIER FAMILY will be presented to the Best Turned Out Horse and Groom in each of the Classes 12-14. FARRIERS AWARD THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF FARRIERS will award a rosette to the winning horse in each class with a plaque to the overall winner & an award to the farrier responsible for its feet & shoeing in Classes 12-15 providing 15 or more horses are entered. The judge will take into consideration (a) condition of the feet; (b) the making (or preparation) & fitting of the shoes; (c) nailing, the position of clips. Normal shoes & showing plates are equally acceptable provided they are suitable for the horse. Fences will not exceed 1.14m (3ft 9ins) in height, there should be a minimum of 8 fences and a maximum of 12 fences. The course must contain a combination and should contain a water tray. These classes will be judged in two parts. Part One (Jumping) will be judged first, without a jump-off. All clear rounds and any other horses the judges may require will go forward to the next part. A rider can ride up to two horses in the jumping phase but then must select only one horse to take forward into the ride and conformation section if so required (no change of rider is allowed).
