Horses must be registered in the name of that exhibitor and must be registered with the SPPHAV. A current SPPHAV performance card provides eligibility for this award. Award for the most successful horse - the horse with highest points scored on this day, horse & exhibitor must be registered with the SPPHAV and hold a current SPPHAV performance card. Award (rug) for the best performed barefoot horse on this day; horse & exhibitor must be registered with the SPPHAV and hold a current SPPHAV performance card. Horse must show no sign of nail markings. Award (rug) for the best performed HRCAV registered horse on this day; horse & exhibitor must be registered with the SPPHAV and hold a current SPPHAV performance card. Award (rug) for the best performed off the track horse on this day; horse & exhibitor must be registered with the SPPHAV. Horse must have raced or race trained during 2016. Proof is required. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY It is a condition of entry that all competitors, whether actually engaged in any event or not, do so at their own risk and will indemnify and save harmless the organising club, committee members and members from all claims, actions, suits or demands arising out of injury, personal r otherwise caused out of their presence at this Show. All horses contesting this show must be registered with the SPPHAV. Partbred Standardbred horses are eligible to enter only those events showing an * after the event number. Membership and horse registrations will NOT be accepted at the Show. Non members entering the ring as a rider / leader must pay a $20 insurance levy before doing so. The organisers of the Show have the right to refuse entry to any person, or to demand the immediate departure of anyone considered to be behaving in an unsuitable manner. Dogs: The WPNEC Committee of Management consider it a privilege in allowing dogs at this venue. They insist your dog is kept on a leash and under effective control at all times. The Committee reserves the right to alter the program without prior notice. Classes with more than 10 entries will be split, prior to show day. All exhibitors will be notified. Competitors under 18 years of age must not wear long boots or gaiters Foundation horses and / or novice riders - snaffle bit only and NO spurs. Helmets: whilst mounted, hard hats meeting EA, HRCAV or PCAV requirements are to be worn at all times. It is your responsibility to ensure your helmet conforms. If it does not your insurance may not cover you in the event of an accident. Competitors are not permitted to enter the ring once judging has commenced. Competitors are asked to refrain from uninvited conversation with the judge. Stallions are to be bitted at all times and under the supervision of a person over 18 years of age. Entry fees for all classes must be prepaid by Monday 9 th January, 2017. Entries are to be made on-line via the Nominate show entry program. No refund of unused entries. The Judges decisions are final. It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure Performance Cards are completed and signed by the Ring Steward or a Committee Member present on the day. 2016/2017 Performance Cards can be purchased via nominate - $10 each for existing members; new members prior to this show and / or new horse registrations $5 each. Cards purchases via nominate will be available at the show administration table on the day if time does not allow posting them. People wishing to arrive on the Saturday and camp overnight must book and pay through Werribee Park at www.wpnec.com.au/bookings The SPPHAV Committee reserves the right to swab any horse(s) on the day. MEMBERSHIP & HORSE REGISTRATIONS IF YOU ARE NOT A CURRENT MEMBER OF THE SPPHAV AND YOUR HORSE IS NOT REGISTERED WITH US call our Secretary on 0427 004 821 and ask for forms to be sent to you OR you can down load them from our web site and pay your membership and horse registration fees while making your entries in the Nominate application. You must then email or post your completed membership and horse registration forms and a copy of your receipt, issued from Nominate to secretary@spphav.org.au AND treasurer@spphav.org.au. At the same time you need to email digital photos of your horse, including one showing the freeze brand for its registration card by 20 December 2016, for the processing of new memberships and horse registrations. Membership Fees: All new memberships are subject to a $15 admin fee. Family - $50 Single - $40 Junior - $25 Horse Registration Fees once only fee: Stallion - $50 Mare - $35 Gelding - $20 Colt - $20 Performance Cards required to contest Most Successful Awards new members $5 each; $10 each existing members purchasing at this time of the year. Refreshments: will be available from the food vans, on site at Werribee Park.

OPERATIONAL ISSUES Judging Commences and Continuity: We will not have the availability of amplified announcements. It is therefore the responsibility of all competitors to be aware of where judging is at, within the program and be ready for their classes. Active class numbers will be displayed at the entrance to each ring. Rings 1 & 2 (LED) will commence at 9 am. Be aware of and watch for ring changes for some sections of the led program (detailed in this program) especially some Championships. Judging will continue through the program using split and combined rings, so check the show program. Harness: judging of the 3 harness classes and championship will be during the break between the led and ridden sections of the program. Lunch: there will be a 30 minute break for lunch immediately after judging of the harness classes. On request, a judge may delay the commencement of a class (with suitable notification) for a maximum of 5 minutes. Championships: Horses / riders placed 1st in their classes are to present for the judging of the Championship and Reserve Championship awards. Any horse / rider that come 2 nd to a Champion is eligible to contest for Reserve Champion and must remain ringside until the Champion has been selected. If the horse you came 2 nd to is sashed Champion, you go into the ring to contest the Reserve Championship. Please watch for possible ring changes for some Championships they are detailed in this program. TERMINOLOGY * indicates Partbreds registered with SPPHAV are eligible to enter these classes. NOVICE LED means not to have won 5 first ribbons or championship sashes in a Standardbred ring class of the same description prior to this show. FOUNDATION RIDDEN This class is based on walk trot and is for Standardbred horses that do not yet have an established canter on the circle. Snaffle bits only. No spurs, NOVICE RIDDEN means not to have won 5 first ribbons or championship sashes in a Standardbred ring class of the same description prior to this show. Snaffle bits only. No spurs, IMPORTANT riders can choose to ride in the FOUNDATION and NOVICE classes OR the NOVICE and OPEN GENDER classes but not all three sections. THE CHAMPION RIDDEN FOUNDATION STANDARDBRED IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO CONTEST FOR THE SUPREME RIDDEN SASH. Foundation points do not count as Novice so winning a Foundation class or Championship will NOT affect Novice Status. NOVICE RIDER means not to have won 5 first ribbons or championship sashes in a Standardbred ring class of the same description prior to this show. Snaffle bits only. No spurs, NEWCOMER CLASS horse not to have competed, under saddle in any discipline, prior to 2016 2017 show season. PLEASURE CLASS snaffle bits only, no whips or spurs. FREE CONSOLATION CLASSES in led, ridden and rider sections are offered for all participants who do not receive a placement ribbon in those class sections. No entry fees. POINTS FOR EQUINADE MOST SUCCESSFUL HORSE & EXHIBITOR AWARDS will be determined by adding placement points as follows: (4 1 st, 3 2 nd, 2 3 rd & 1 4 th ) for each show placing. The horse with the most aggregated points will receive the Equinade Most Successful Horse award. The single exhibitor/member with the most aggregated points will receive the Equinade Most Successful Exhibitor award. To provide wider competition for these awards, championship points are not included. BAREFOOT must not show signs of nails in hooves. Exhibitors wanting to contest the Barefoot award must indicate same on their entry form. HERO OFF THE TRACK must prove to have raced or trialed during 2016. Exhibitors wanting to contest this award must indicate same on their entry form. Eligibility will be checked. HRCAV Award must prove to be a paid up HRCAV member. SPPHAV/HRCAV exhibitor with the most points scored on the day. Eligibility will be checked. Performance cards are required to qualify for: Best Overall; Barefoot; Off The Track and HRCAV awards.
