SECTION XIII PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head and extremities, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, shall be provided, used and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition where it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact. The Kent School District has conducted a survey to assess the requirement for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The survey consisted of an evaluation of machines, equipment and operations to assess the potential hazards associated with each, and the PPE required to provide protection against such hazards. Attached is a list of PPE by department and an additional list of PPE by equipment is provided for the bus garage, grounds maintenance and auto/wood shop.
