ENRICHMENTS AT THE BGCSV Each season during the school year, the Club offers a series of special classes or extra activities offered on a weekly basis for 6-8 week sessions. These classes, or enrichment programs, are designed to be educational, hands on, and most importantly, fun for our members. There are different enrichments for each age group, including classes for elementary and middle schoolers, high schoolers, and a separate activities list designed for adults in the community and offering evening activities like league sports or dance after Club afterschool hours end. HOW TO PARTICIPATE For registered members already on the portal, signing up for an enrichment is easy: log into the parent portal and select the enrichment you want to sign up for. The system will then take you through the payment process and, once completed, your child will be added to the activity list. You can access the information at www.parentportal.svbgc.org. For current 2017-18 members without a parent portal account, you will need to request an account by emailing info@svbgc.org. For more information on parent portal registration and the benefits of having an account, visit www.svbgc.org/parent-portal. For nonmembers hoping to sign up, you will need to fill out a physical 2017-18 membership form and submit to the Club with payment. We will use this information to create your parent portal account, which you can then use to sign up for enrichments. KIDS PROGRAMS - ARTS BEGINNER TAP DANCE Grades 6-12 Tuesdays 6:30-8:00pm $45 Grades 1-5 Wednesdays 5:15-6:15pm $35 Experience the joys of dancing in this beginner tap class! During this class, students will learn foundational tap moves and the basics of performing. Students will need tap shoes, moveable clothing, and water. DISNEY HERE I COME! Grades 1-5 Thursdays 4-5pm $30 Join us in this introduction to musical theatre through the Disney songs and stories. What s your favorite Disney musical or song? We just might be performing it for the Club at the end of the enrichment session! HOMESCHOOL PAINTING Grades 2-6 Fridays 10:00-11:00am $40 Each week we will learn a new painting style using modern art movements as our guide. We will also learn about famous artists and mimic various styles. INTRO TO CONTEMPORARY DANCE Grades 4-8 Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm $35 This class introduces students to the art of using their bodies to tell stories, express themselves, and create a dance that will be shared during the last class. KIDS PROGRAMS - ARTS INTRO TO HIP HOP DANCE Grades 3-6 Tuesdays 5:15-6:15pm $35 Interested in hip hop? Participants in this class will learn basic hip hop steps and the basics of performing hip hop. Students will need to come prepared with sneakers, moveable clothing, and water. TEEN PAINT NIGHTS Grades 6-12 Tuesdays 6:00-6:45pm $40 Calling all artists! Each week we will learn a new painting style using modern art movements as our guide. We will also learn about famous artists and mimic various styles. PRINTMAKING Grades 3-12 Thursdays 4:15-5:00pm $40 This enrichment is focused on learning to print on fabric via the silk screening process. KIDS PROGRAMS - SPORTS CHEER 101 Grades 5-10 Mondays 4-5pm $10 This cheerleading class is for youth and teens who want to learn beginner skills without the full commitment of a team. The skills learned in Cheer 101 cover the basics of cheerleading and routine work. Athletes will learn basics such as jumps, motion, tumbling and be introduced to stunting throughout the session. Skills will be implemented into a miniature routine to be performed at the end of the session. Grades 5th-10th. Girls and Boys Welcome! DISC GOLF JR/HIGH SCHOOL Grades 6-12 Wednesday 4-5pm $10 Disc Golf teaches fair play and integrity, develops critical thinking skills and gets the kids away from electronics. Participants will be taught form, grip, safety tips and how to have FUN! Grades 6th-12th INSTRUCTIONAL FLOOR HOCKEY BITTY/JUNIOR Grades 1-8 Thursday 4-5pm $10 From basic puck work and shooting to successful stickhandling and passing techniques, kids have a great time learning floor hockey fundamentals. In this comprehensive program, kids progress from the basics to more advanced techniques as they master each level in a safe environment. Game play is part of each week. Teams will be broken up by age and skill level. FLOOR HOCKEY JR/HS LEAGUE Grades 5-12 Thursday 5-6pm $10 Middle School and High School players will compete each week in game play. Team pinnies provided. HOMESCHOOL SAMPLER Grades K-8 Wednesdays 1-2pm $40 Join us for a sampling of all the great things we have to offer here at the club. Activities will rotate each week to include sports and activities in our gym, music, arts, STEM activities, rock climbing and MORE! These classes focus on dribbling, shot technique, passing and team work. Adjustable hoops and appropriately sized basketballs are used to always provide just the right amount of challenge. Preschool-Kindergarten, parent involved class ITTY BITTY SOCCER Grades PreK-K Friday 1:00-1:45pm $35 Grades PreK-K Saturday 10:00-10:45am $35 This high-energy program introduces children to fundamental soccer principles, such as using your feet, dribbling and the basic rules of the game. Through fun games, songs and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. Mini-games will be played as the session advances. Preschool-Kindergarten ITTY BITTY T-BALL Grades PreK-K Saturday 9:00-9:45am $35 Utilizing fun games and activities, players will develop their skills in hitting, throwing, base running and fielding. At the end of each session participants will apply these skills into realistic mini game situations. Preschool- Kindergarten MULTI-SPORT BITTY Grades 1-4 Saturday 11:00-11:45am $35 We use fun games and drills to engage kids in a variety of sports. One of the following sports is played each week; soccer, football, baseball/softball, basketball, floor hockey and volleyball. Rules, skills and techniques are introduced with some small-sided games played. Grades 1st-4th MULTI-SPORT JUNIOR Grades 5-8 Saturday 12:00-12:45am $35 One of the following sports is played each week; soccer, football, baseball/softball, basketball, floor hockey and volleyball. Active youngsters build team skills and develop strategic thinking, respect and honesty, all while having fun. We will play different games such as Elimination, Infection and many more. SOFTBALL SKILLS BITTY Grades 1-4 Saturday 1:00-2:00pm $35 Join us on Saturdays and get ready for your softball season. Emphasize will be on fundamentals with instruction in fielding, batting, base running, and offensive and defensive strategies. Great for beginners or seasoned players who need to shake off the winter dust. Bring a glove and water bottle and be ready to have some FUN! Grades 1st- 4th VOLLEYBALL 101 Grades 3-9 Wednesday 5-6pm $10 We use a variety of fun games and tools to teach basic volleyball techniques including passing, setting, hitting, serving, blocking, tipping, diving and serving.
