GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION REGISTER EARLY Space is limited to facilitate individual attention. Four-person suites will be assigned on a first-registered, first-accommodated basis. WHAT TO BRING: A certificate of health must be presented by each participant at the camp s registration. A standard form will be sent upon acceptance. This form does not require a physician s examination or signature. Bat, glove or mitt, softball pants, hat/visor, helmet, sneakers, old clothing, sunscreen, swimsuit, blanket, and other necessities if boarding. Catchers need their own gear, i.e. mask, chest protector, shin guards. Please label your gear. The university is not responsible for lost or misplaced belongings. RECREATIONAL FACILITIES INCLUDE: Indoor swimming, indoor and outdoor basketball courts (if available), outdoor volleyball courts, tennis courts, and handball courts. HOUSING Campers will be housed in suite-style residence halls. Amenities include: air conditioning and a bathroom for every two campers. A pillow, one pillowcase, and two sheets will be provided. You will need to bring towels, blankets, and washcloths with you. Coinoperated washers and dryers are available on each floor in the residence hall. HEALTH SERVICES The Etter Health Center at Shippensburg University is available for first aid treatment of minor illnesses and injuries. Hours of operation vary throughout the year and are listed on the health center website www.ship.edu/health_center. If an illness or injury requires additional medical care, with consent of parent or legal guardian of child under the age of 18, arrangements may be made for an appointment with the campus physician during physician hours. If there is a medical emergency the camper will be transported via ambulance to an emergency room. DISABILITY SERVICES Requests for accommodations, auxiliary aids, or services must be made in writing to the Office of Disability Services at least fifteen (15) days before the camp begins. OBJECTIVE This is an intense high-impact camp designed to improve individual skills regardless of the player s current skill level. The objectives will be reached by intense and concentrated practice of fundamental skills and techniques of softball. Designed to develop and improve players individual skills and competition performance. Intense one-on-one instruction. Six hours of instruction, analysis, and games per day. FEATURES All participants will generally practice and play in their own age groups. However, dependent upon skill level, we reserve the right to move a participant up or down the age groups. All campers will receive instruction in hitting, infield, and outfield. If you wish instruction in pitching or catching, you must select one of the two as your primary position. The participant will have the use of all the latest training aids including soft toss and pitching machines, batting cages, speed guns, soft hand gloves, wrist watch bats, and clicker stick bats. FACILITIES The SU Fast Pitch Softball Camp will be conducted on the beautiful Shippensburg University campus which includes three softball diamonds and a large instructional area. Two fields are equipped with lights for night games and practices. Indoor facilities will be available in case of inclement weather. APPLICATION INFORMATION Applications will be accepted up to one week prior to the start of camp. Applications submitted after that day will not be accepted. If paying with a credit card, full payment is required. If paying by check or money order, you have the option of paying the entire amount or submitting at least a $75 deposit with the balance due one week prior to start of camp. An administrative fee of $75 will be deducted from all refunds. No refunds will be given after on-campus check-in. The Conference Office reserves the right to cancel any camp which has insufficient enrollment up to two weeks before the opening of camp. A full refund will be given if the camp is canceled. STAFF THE CAMP WILL BE TAUGHT BY THE SHIPPENSBURG GROUP OF HIGHLY QUALIFIED COACHES AND COLLEG BE APPROXIMATELY 12:1. THE PERMANENT STAFF F ALISON VAN SCYOC Van Scyoc is the head softball coach at Shippensburg University. She has spent the previous season as the interim head coach and 4 seasons as an assistant coach at SU. In her first season as head coach, Shippensburg qualified for the PSAC tournament for the first time in 3 years. As an assistant, Van Scyoc helped guide the 2013 and 2014 teams to their PSAC Conference Championships and to two Regional appearances. She has significant knowledge in all areas of the game including hitting, defense, slapping, and pitching. Prior to coaching Van Scyoc had a 4 year playing career at the University of Virginia where she primarily caught and played outfield. EMILY ESTEP Estep, a 2014 alumnus of Shippensburg University, is the pitching coach for SU. Estep had a tremendous career at Ship, finishing 3rd all-time in wins by a pitcher, 2nd all-time in strikeouts, and 2nd all-time in strikeouts per seven innings. Estep has significant knowledge in coaching and teaching pitchers of all ages.

THE CAMPER/STAFF RATIO WILL F FOR THE CAMP INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: DINA CHIAPPELLI Chiappelli is an assistant coach at Shippensburg University, and assists in all facets of the game. She comes to SU after finishing her playing career at Alvernia University in 2011. At Alvernia, she was a utility player spending time at shortstop, 2nd base, and in the outfield. She has great insight into the mental approach to the physical demands of softball. JESSICA STRONG Strong joined the Raider s coaching staff after spending two seasons with Moravian College as an assistant coach. She also coached for two seasons at her Alma Mater, Armstrong State, and helped guide Armstrong to the NCAA Division II Final Eight Appearance. Coach Strong is instrumental in implementing all aspects of the game and brings a wonderful positive atmosphere to the coaching staff. * Others may be added to our staff. Staff subject to change.
