Use the right product for the job. There are certain applications for which the Gravity Bike Rack was designed. Do not modify the Gravity Bike Rack and do not use this product for a purpose for which it was not intended. 4. Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for any broken or damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect its operation. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately. 5. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty. 6. Do not operate product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the product. 7. Use eye protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles during assembly. 8. Always check hardware and assembled parts after assembling. All connections should be tight and hardware tightened. 9. Do not exceed the Bike Rack s maximum weight capacity of 110 lbs. 10. Make certain that the Gravity Bike Rack is mounted into a 2 x 4 stud. 11. Do not allow children to play with, or, hang/climb on the Bike Rack; adults should put on and take off bikes from the rack. Unpacking When unpacking your Gravity Bike Rack, check to make sure all parts listed on page 5 are included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS at: 1-800-444-3353. Assembly Your Gravity Bike Rack will require complete assembly before use. It is important that you read the entire manual to become familiar with the product BEFORE you set up and use the Gravity Bike Rack. The Gravity Bike Rack can be easily assembled by attaching the parts listed in the following steps. The Bike Rack will stand on its own and will hold the weight of two standard bicycles. You also have the option of mounting the Bike Rack to a solid surface as described in the Mounting the Bike Rack section on page 4. 1. Attach the Angle Post (2) down into the Base (1). Slide the Middle Post (3) down into the Angle Post (2). Note: All key slots must face (down) the same direction-see Figure 1. 2. Slide the Upper Post (6) down into the Middle Post (3). 3. Decide on the location to install the Support Beams (14). The Support Beams have two tabs located on the end. Line up the tabs with the key hole slots, press the tabs into the slots and slide down the Support Beam (14), making certain that it is firmly in place-see Figure 1. Figure 1 Big Tube Cap (15) key slot Support Beam (14) Upper Post (6) 4. The Adjustable Beam (4) attaches to the Support Beam (14) and can be adjusted at different angles. Line up the tab on the Adjustable Beam (4) with the holes on the end of the Support Beam (14) so that the desired angle is attained. Insert the tab into the desired hole-see Figure 2 on page 4. Once the Adjustable Beam (4) is set in place, insert the Inner Hex Round Head Bolt M8X55 (8) into the Adjustable Beam and thread into the Support Beam using a Hex Wrench (not included). 6. Attach the Bike Holder Hooks (7) to the Adjustable Beams (4) at the desired angle. Secure in place with Plastic Washer (12), Philips Head Bolt (11), and Plastic Bolt Cap (10). 7. Attach Helmet Hooks (5) to either Middle Post (3) or Upper Post (6). 8. Insert Big Tube Caps (15) into the top end of the Upper Post (6), and ends of the Base (1). 9. Insert Small Tube Caps (16) onto the end of both Adjustable Beams (4). Using the Gravity Bike Rack 1. Bicycles can be hung on the Bike Holder Hooks (7) by the frame, handlebars, or by placing the wheel rims onto the hooks. When hanging bicycles on the Gravity Bike Rack, be careful not to scratch the bicycle frame or bang the bicycle components. 2. Bicycle accessories such as helmets and gloves can be placed on the Helmet Hooks. Mounting the Bike Rack 1. Before attaching the Gravity Bike Rack to a wall or surface, make sure the mounting surface is capable of supporting the weight of the Bike Rack, bicycles and any accessories that will be hung from the Rack. 2. Make certain the mounting surface is solid. The Gravity Bike Rack must be mounted to a solid wood stud. Mount using stainless steel grade 5 anchored hardware, 3 length x 1/4 diameter (not included). 3. Line up the mounting holes on the Upper Post (6) and Middle Post (3) against the stud. Tap through the mounting holes to make a mark on the mounting surface. Remove the Rack and drill to create path for screws. Pre-drill holes making certain that the drilling path is clear of any obstacles such as cables, wires and lines. 4.
