Safety markers are in place to guide you when approaching snags etc, do not cut corners Drivers are to obey any flags flown from official boats, i.e. a RED flag shown takes precedence over any instructions on race safe unit In a Red flag situation you must stop immediately on sighting Red flag or Race Safe message, pull your skiers into boat, and display orange flag. Wait for further instructions, when told to do so you may proceed to indicated ramp, single file, no passing, max speed of 30mph, no bow riding, all skiers to be seated in boat, Race Safe can be used to track speed, and penalties will apply. Orange/Yellow Marker buoys are in the river to identify shallow areas, please keep clear of these and do not travel on such a course that your skiers are forced to ski inside these. These are safety markers with disqualification if any team s boat or skiers are on the inside. Invincible bend is marked with lead in buoy on the way down and an orange arrow indicating direction of bend. On the way back a buoy is in place the corner prior which is a left hander before the right hand turn Do not proceed along the course unless in full race order, one skier in the boat does not comply. Skiers are reminded of SRA rules that all skiers must ski in the wash. Penalties will apply. If boat or skier problem occurs do not proceed along course at slow speed causing a hindrance to other teams. If you stop for any reason, you must display your orange flag. This means on every occasion, even when idling back to bank at finish. If stopped out on river an orange flag must be up at all times until you are retrieved. When stopped follow the prompts on Race Safe so race control know your situation. Page 2

In the case of a fallen skier, clear the course of your ropes and protect your skiers. If a team member is injured use your Race safe unit and phone to advise race control display/wave your Blue and White Medical flag to the next boat. Place your orange V Sheet on the deck of the boat if chopper required. If you see a boat waving Blue and White Medical flag, signal to the next Marshall Boat by waving your Blue and White Medical flag as you pass, and give report to the Race Co-ordinator at the finish line or Officials at the turn around point immediately you finish. Be aware that if there is an incident a rescue craft or Jet Ski may be on course. If so, slow down and give way. Injuries: If you have an injured crew member - FOLLOW the prompts on Racesafe first. IF YOU HAVE A SERIOUS INJURED TEAM MEMBER, CALL THE EMERGENCY NUMBER ON 1800 722 372. This is the same number at all classic events so ensure it is saved in your phones. Safety boats are instructed to report incidents, but are to remain on station unless ordered to attend by Race Control. SRV recommends that all teams use a Telstra phone as this is the only provider that covers the entire race course. Any Team who retrieves themselves after breakdown without immediately notifying Racesafe 1800 722 372 will not be allowed to enter next year s race. If there are any injuries or boat damage, an incident report must be completed, you may also need to complete a Maritime report, please see the Chief Judge for these. All injuries and boat damage must be reported If you believe you are sinking, please beach your boat and it will be retrieved later. If your boat breaks down, pull in close to the bank and remain there until advised by the sweep boat if a rescue boat can pull you out.
