Boomers Volleyball Club Dear Parents, On behalf of all the coaches, I want to thank you for attending the Boomers Volleyball Club tryouts today. We are glad you are here and committed to taking your daughter s volleyball skills to the next level. The primary reason we hold tryouts is to identify the experience and strengths of each player to determine which team (black, green or regional) offers the best opportunity to not only learn and improve upon their volleyball skills, but also gain the necessary game day experience to grow and develop as a competitive player. We know there are several volleyball club options to choose from and we hope the attached will provide you with the necessary information to make the most informed decision for your daughter as well as your family. Thanks again for attending and I welcome any and all questions. Best, Terri Jimenez Director, Boomers Volleyball Club

Philosophy Our main focus is on training to provide the best opportunity for individual development and growth to maximize the potential of each and every athlete we welcome into the Boomers family. This philosophy is considered in every decision we make at the Club. Coaching We are committed to providing the best coaches for our players. Boomers believes that a coach can have a great impact on an athlete s life, both on and off the court. As a result, we hold our coaches to the highest standards of integrity and expect them to treat all players with dignity and respect. Head coaches and assistants are assigned to ONE team throughout the season to ensure the most individualized attention. Each team can also be assured that their head coach will be directly coaching them in competition. Head coaches are adults with proven coaching experience, specifically chosen with gifts for that particular age group. Active college players are used as assistants. Regional teams will have one coach. Black and Green teams will have one head coach and one assistant. All coaches come together for positional training sessions to offer their expertise to all players in the club.

Teams Regional Regional Teams are an excellent place to start if you are new to club sports. It is designed for players who want to improve their skills and get a taste of what club volleyball has to offer. The coaching and level of training is excellent. The benefits are a lower price point and the opportunity to enjoy competition without having to travel. Practices are held two days per week. We accept all players that tryout for this program as long as facilities permit. Travel Green Travel Green teams include higher level and more experienced coaching as well as the addition of an assistant coach. Green teams may travel out-of-town to access additional competitive opportunities. Players participate in two practices per week plus conditioning and positional training sessions. Positions on these teams are competitive and determined by position. The travel and additional training opportunities require a higher financial commitment. Travel Black Travel Black is our strongest team at each age level. Positions on these teams are highly competitive and our most experienced coaches and assistants are placed with these teams. The main difference between the Black and Green teams is the schedule. Black teams participate in national qualifiers that require both in and out-of-state travel to participate in the most competitive tournaments. Travel Black players also participate in two practices per week plus additional conditioning and positional training sessions. The travel and additional training opportunities require a higher financial commitment.

Travel and Tournament Philosophy 12U, 13 U and 14U Team Black and Team Green Traveling to out of area tournaments is a financial strain on our families. We do not take this decision lightly and we only travel to non-local tournaments if the caliber of play or Collegiate recruitment opportunities warrant it. If we can achieve the same level of competition by competing locally and playing up an age division, this is the better decision for our families and coaches. Our experience over the past 18 years makes us very aware of which tournaments hold a high level of competition and which do not and we make our decisions accordingly. 10U and 11U Teams For our younger teams, we prefer to stay local and focus our resources on the best coaches possible. At the 10s and 11s age level, there is no need to travel outside the local area. At the local tournaments, the 10s and 11s teams compete in the 12s division. The level of competition typically exceeds their level of play and if it does not, that is solved by simply moving them up one age group. In the past when we have traveled with the youngest age groups we have noticed a huge increase in burnout and financial expense for our families. While we understand that enthusiastic and competitive families want their little ones to have the same large tournament experiences as the older girls, we find the most personal growth and improvement is more closely related to our training methods and strength of coaching. We welcome you to compare our coaches at the younger age divisions with those of other clubs. For example, Billy Strachan and Jenna Andrews are two highly experienced high school coaches who are committed to growth and results with our young players without the expense of out-of-town travel.

Competitive Philosophy We invest in the training and growth of your daughters as volleyball players, teammates and student-athletes. We do not focus our energy on finding the next best player to replace a weaker player on a team. Our goal is to develop as a team in an effort to eliminate all their weaknesses. You will see this philosophy is also reflected in every decision that we make.

We are nationally recognized by collegiate coaches with a PROVEN record of placement into Division 1 programs such as Penn State, UNC Chapel Hill, University of Florida, Florida State, University of Miami, Wake Forest and Pepperdine just to name a few. Throughout the country Boomers is recognized as a well established club with a great reputation for producing high level student-athletes with invaluable skills, positive attitudes and the desire to be part of, not the star, of a team. 4 Coaches with over 20 years of High School and Club experience, 10 Coaches with over 10 years of High School and Club experience along with active college volleyball players as assistants. Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches are assigned to ONE team throughout the season. By design, we limit the number of teams per age group to ensure players receive individualized attention and the best training possible. Boomers has built a stellar reputation of not only developing players to their maximum potential on the court, but also as strong, confident student-athletes off the court. We value the commitment of our players and their families and DO NOT recruit players onto a team for short term success. ALL Black and Green Teams have 2 practices per week and one additional positional practice per week for a total of 3 practices. Regional Teams practice 2 times a week. Boomers provides expert conditioning from a professional training company. There are NO hidden fees. All training (practice, positional as well as conditioning), uniforms, backpacks and tournament entries are included in our pricing.
