Forget-Me-Knots Fall 2017 Newsletter & Class Schedule Come see all of the entries for the 2017 UFO Challenge Also take 29% off one regularly priced item Limited selection of $7 a yard fabric Cupcake cake walk for a special fabric cupcake prize throughout the days Enjoy cake & other refreshments during your visit. 1

Fall back into sewing... What an interesting summer we have had. I don t think I ve ever seen so much smoke. I m looking forward to the fall rains and the cleansing of the air. I ve been doing some sewing this summer, but can t wait until the yard is too wet to work in and I can feel guiltless in my sewing room. EVENTS We ll be winding down the rest of the year with some fun activities. Of course, the big one coming up soon, is our annual Anniversary Celebration. I m seeing many UFO s getting finished and I think we will have a great turn out of items for our annual show. Last year we had 95 UFO s that made it off the books and were on display. I m guessing we re going to have more than that this year. Our Anniversary Celebration will be held September 29th and 30th this year. In addition to the quilt show being held in our upstairs retreat are (we do have a chair lift for those who prefer not to climb stairs), we will have a big celebration in the main retail area. On both Friday and Saturday, you can take 29% off any one item. In addition, we will have a limited special selection of special fabrics for $7 a yard in our classroom. While pursuing the limited special selection bolt fabric, enjoy a cup of punch and a piece of cake. Then throughout the day, we will be holding a cupcake cake walk. Find a number on the floor and when the music stops, win our special fabric cupcake prize. It will be a fun time on September 29th and 30th, so be sure to mark your calendar! In October, the Oregon coast quilt shops from Astoria to Port Orford will be doing their Oktoberfest! Each shop will have designed a fall themed block pattern and that will be free when you come visit a store. At the same time, you can enter in each store for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate from that store. You may only enter into each store s drawing once, but you can enter in the drawing for all 12 shops for a chance to win 12 gift certificates! In November, we will be starting our merchandise basket giveaway. For every $25 spent on merchandise (regularly priced and discounted), you will get an entry in to win a basket (tote) with fun merchandise. We have a total of 3 basket we re giving away. The first drawing will be held for entries made November 1st through the 18th. The second drawing will be held for entries made between November 18th and December 2nd. The last basket will be for entries made December 2nd through December 23rd. Entries from an earlier basket drawing will not be kept for the later drawings. We ve enjoyed our cider and homemade cookies Saturdays so much that we re going to do them again this year. Starting November 25th and every Saturday through the end of the year, come on in and enjoy hot mulled cider and fresh homemade cookies. We will have some last minute gift ideas (both already made and to be made) to help with your holiday gift giving. 2

Upcoming Quilt Shows There are a couple of shows still left in the season this year. Coos Sand n Sea will be hosting their annual show September 16th and 17th at the Coos Bay Boys & Girls Club. Then Hugo s Ladies Club, will be celebrating their 40th anniversary quilt show in Hugo, Oregon (north of Grants Pass), October 6th and 7th in their Hugo Schoolhouse. The last show for me this season will be in Puyallup, Washington for the Quilt, Craft, Sew Expo at the Fairgrounds. Other Important Items We will be closed Thursday, November 23rd, for Thanksgiving Day and December 24th and 25th. Our regular store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5:30 pm and on Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm. Our online store is always open at www.forget-me-knots.net Perfect 7 Tuesday, September 19th 10 am - 2 pm Taught by Sonja. $15 Use this wedge shaped ruler to create 14 point star in the round.
