Trailing 10-8 midway through the first, Brunson's three-point play started a 9-0 burst that put Minnesota ahead to stay. The Lynx then opened the second period with a 14-3 barrage, capped by Alexis Jones' 3-pointer, to expand their lead to 35-19. L.A. narrowed the gap to nine before a late Lindsay Whalen trey restored a 43-31 halftime lead for Minnesota, and the margin peaked at 19 when Fowles made it 58-39 with 2:40 to play in the third quarter. The Sparks used a pair of Odyssey Sims 3-pointers to pull within 63-54 early in the fourth, and Nneka Ogwumike made it an eight-point game with 2:09 remaining. However, Maya Moore converted a three-point play on the Lynx' next possession to quell the comeback, and Fowles' putback with 51 seconds left sealed the win. Moore finished with 15 points and Whalen dealt eight assists for Minnesota, while Sims topped the Sparks with 18 points and Ogwumike chipped in 17 points and eight boards. Previous Game: Friday, Sept. 29 Los Angeles 75, Minnesota 64 Nneka Ogwumike collected 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Chelsea Gray's 3-pointer highlighted a late 10-0 surge as Los Angeles fended off the Lynx, 75-64, on Friday night at Staples Center. The Sparks never trailed, building a 17-8 lead after one quarter and pushing that to 28-17 on Odyssey Sims' layup midway through the second. A pair of Renee Montgomery treys were followed by one from Alexis Jones, rallying Minnesota to within two, but L.A. scored the final four points of the half and opened the third quarter with a 13-6 blitz to grab its largest lead at 45-32 on a Candace Parker basket. The Lynx whittled the deficit to eight entering the fourth, then reeled off seven in a row to get within 56-55. However, after Sylvia Fowles' hook at the 6:57 mark kept the margin at one, Minnesota went scoreless for the next five-and-a-half minutes, missing nine consecutive shots and committing three turnovers. Gray's 3-pointer put Los Angeles ahead 66-57 at the 3:06 mark and Ogwumike tacked on a layup to seal the victory.
