General Information on the upcoming 2018 1A Region IIl Wrestling Tournament. Enclosed you will find necessary information for this year's 1A Regional Tournament. Please read carefully and if you have questions, please feel free to contact me at 360-957-7058 or email: neil.williamson@crschools.org Address: Castle Rock High School, 5180 Westside Hwy., Castle Rock, WA 98611 Fax: 360-501-2999 Tournament Schedule: Saturday, Feb. 10 th 7:45 a.m. Skin checks 8:00 a.m. Weigh-ins (Photo I.D. Required) 9:00 a.m. Coaches meeting immediately following weigh-ins 10:00 a.m. Wrestling begins on 3 mats until championship matches. Team award immediately following championship matches. Seeding/Bracket All brackets will be 8 man brackets, 4 wrestlers coming from SCAC and 4 from Trico League sub-regional tournaments. Note: Seeding will be 1-4/2-3 Weigh-ins: Saturday, Feb 10 th 7:45a.m. Skin checks 8:00a.m. weigh-ins. Castle Rock High School Gymnasium All athletes will need Photo I.D and weigh-in cards. Weigh-in cards are needed to weigh-in. All teams should report at weigh-in time. We will weigh in by Wrestling Federation Rules. *All alternates must weigh-in to be eligible for potential participation. *Note: Once a wrestler is in the weight line he must not leave: Any skin irregularities/diseases must be accompanied by a note form a physician stating the disease is non communicable. Physicians must have clearance filled out on STATE APPROVED FORM. State Qualifiers: The first four place finishers in each weight division will qualify for the State Wrestling Tournament to be held in the Tacoma Dome, February 16 th /17 th 2018.

The 5 th place finisher will become the alternate at the State Tournament. The alternate will be used in the event of a scratch by a higher placer for their district only. Team Scoring: 1. All tournament scoring will be as stated in the National Federation Rule Book (Rule 9, Section 2) TEAM PLACEMENT First Place - 16 points Second Place 12 points Third Place 9 points Fourth Place 7 points Fifth Place 5 points Sixth Place 3 points 2. TOURNAMENT SCORING Individual placement points shall be awarded as soon as earned. Placement points already earned will be deducted in case of a flagrant disqualification from the tournament. Points for team scoring shall be awarded as follows: a. (2) team advancement points shall be scored for each match won in the championship bracket, except for the final first place match. If a wrestler receives a bye in the first round, he shall be awarded 2 advancement points for that round if he wins his next match. No points are awarded for the bye if the wrestler loses his next match. b. (1) team advancement point shall be scored for each match won in the consolation round, except for the final third and fifth place matches. A wrestler who has a bye in the consolations round shall receive one advancement point, provided he wins the next round match. Wrestlers from the same school will atomically be award pin points to the winner. 3. POINTS FOR DEFAULT, DISQUALIFICATION, FALL, OR FORFEIT a. Two additional points will be scored for each match won by default, disqualification, fall, or forfeit throughout the tournament. b. One and one-half points will be awarded for each match won by a technical fall c. One point will be awarded for each match won by a major decision. 4. OTHER SCORING In tournament scoring six places, the winner of each championship quarterfinals shall be awarded three points, and the winner of each championship final shall be awarded for additional place points. The winner of the quarterfinal consolation match shall receive three additional place points. The winner of the third place and the winner of the fifth place shall receive two additional place points. Admission Prices: Per WIAA Guidelines Adult $9.00 Student/Child/Sr. Citizen $7.00 Children under 5 FREE Student tickets are only for Jr.-Sr. High Students with ASB cards. Children 12 or under & Sr. Citizens (62+) will be admitted at Student Prices. Children under 5 admitted free. Young children must stay with parents; they will not be allowed to run all over the building.

Passes: (1) pass for each wrestling participant and alternate. (8) passes will be admitted to cheerleading staff as long as they are in uniform and are presented at the Main Ticket Window by their adviser. Cheerleaders will have floor access during actual competition. They are not to stand in front of the ropes and they are not to pound on the floor or mats during actual wrestling. (1) Administrator/supervisory pass. (Will be available at the Main Ticket Window at the front of the building. (1) Cheerleading coach/advisor pass (Available at Main Ticket Window at front of the building.) Student Manager (1) pass (1) School photographer pass and (1) school newspaper reporter pass may be obtained upon presentation of a letter of authorization on school letterhead. School photographers and reports will not be allowed inside the rope. Passes will be granted in person at the Main Ticket Window. (2) Coaches passes. If a school has three (3) to (9) nine participants, then (3) coaches passes will be issued. A school with ten (10) or more participants will be issued four (4) coaches passes. (to be issued based on the WIAA bound for state pass list. (If you have more coaches than pass allocations, you will need to purchases tickets for the extra coaches.) Pass List Policy: Pass lists will be checked through the schools WIAA tournament registration page. Parking: Parking in the front of school is first come, first served. There is a large parking area behind the school. Bus Parking: Is at the Back of the School! Lockers & Towels: Locker Room space is limited. Please advise your wrestler not to leave anything in the Locker room unattended. Towels will not be furnished. Locker Room Security: Locker rooms will be patrolled, but remind your athletes that they are responsible for their own equipment. Locks must be furnished by individual wrestlers. Crowd Control: Crowd control at Regional s is a responsibility that must be shared by the administration and coaches of all participating schools. All of us must work closely with Tournament Management to control the conduct of our students and adult fans. Coaches: Please inform your fans, athletes, etc., that they are not allowed to stand between the ropes and the bleachers. Coolers: In accordance with Mat Classic regulations, ice chests and coolers will not be allowed in the bleachers.

Only two (2) personnel will be allowed inside the ropes during a match, chairs are provided with the expectation that they will used. Games Committee: The games committee will consist of three (3) members: 1. The tournament manager or his designee. 2. The Head Official 3. A coach without entries, at that weight. Concessions: There will a concession stand open all day Saturday. Breakfast will be served. Private cooking in the building will not be allowed. A Hospitality Room will be available. This room is reserved for Coaches, Officials and Tournament workers. This does not include parents and bus drivers. Floor Restrictions: No one will be permitted to stand along the mats, including coaches, wrestlers and spectators. Only media photographers with proper credentials will be allowed inside the ropes. (If they become coaches or cheerleaders, they will lose their floor privileges.) School photographers are not allowed inside the ropes. VIDEO CAMERAS OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING CELL PHONES) WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE GYM FLOOR. Filming must take place from the stands. All photographers must take pictures behind the ropes, but not in front of the bleachers. Signs: No signs except official school banners are allowed. Bands & Noisemakers: No bands and noisemakers will be allowed. Practice Facilities: Practice times will be available for Friday February 9 th after 5:00pm. Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top (4) wrestlers at each weight class. (1) First Place team trophy will be awarded. We will wrestle the finals on two mats. Please tell your wrestlers to be in uniform during the awards presentations. The 106 & 113 pound awards will be presented after the 120 & 126 pound championship match, etc. Immediately after each award presentation, the top (4) placers will be taken to the Forum so that a picture can be taken for the Mat Classic program. (Hats will not be allowed). WITHDRAWAL OF QUALIFIERS Any school that intends to withdraw a qualified participant should contact Neil Williamson

Mat Classic (State Tournament) All Tournament Tickets will be available on a pre-sale basis and will be sold on Saturday afternoon. Ticket prices will be: All Tournament: Adult $30.00 Student $23.00 Seniors (62 & over) $23.00 Single Session and All Day Tickets can be purchases at the Tacoma Dome.
